Chapter 41- She Is Not Going Anywhere

I grabbed the doorknob to my chamber, ready to go in and enjoy the quiet… but then I stopped.
No. Not yet.
If that girl—my so-called personal slave—was going to end up dead, then I needed a replacement. Fast. And the only one who could grant me that request without any back-and-forth was my father.
The last person on earth I wanted to see.
I clenched my jaw. I really didn't want to face that man. Not after the nonsense he pulled earlier, trying to guilt-trip us like we were his little boys again. I was still pissed, and I wanted him to stew in that silence for days—weeks even—until he realized he was the one who crossed the line.
But here I was, about to go to him like some beggar asking for a bone.
Whatever.
I wasn't going there to bond. I wasn't going to cry into his shoulder or talk about mates or family or any of that emotional garbage. I was going to get what I needed and leave.
