Anshi's pov
"Another normal day." I whispered as I woke up. I took my phone and checked the date. My eyes widened "No it's not a normal day, it's Sundayyyyy..!!" I shouted in joy.
It's definitely gonna be fun. Just eat, sleep, eat, sleep and enjoyyyyy. I stood up and went directly to the bathroom.
After brushing, I went downstairs. "Good morning ma, Good morning pa." I greeted with a smile ."Good morning." They said in union.
I sat on the sofa while mama was cooking and dad was helping her. I think breakfast would take some time. I should make a detailed plan about how to spend this special day. I will definitely watch a series or maybe a movie. I will also go on a date with myself, what about a cafe date or an adventurous date. Or I can paint something or I can cook. Huhh..!! It's so confusing.
"Breakfast is ready. Come on.. let's eat." Mom said. I moved toward the dining area. I was still smiling widely.
"What's so special ? Why are you grinning like that ?" Mom asked and I was about to answer when dad said "Ofcourse because it's Sunday today.." We laughed.
I continued stuffing food fastly so that I wouldn't waste any time.
" Well I've to announce something." Dad said and mumma and I looked at him together. " Today one of my old friend is visiting us at 7 PM and I insisted him to have dinner with us."
" Which friend, Shah ?" Mom said and I nodded. "Mr. Malhotra" Dad answered. "Ohh..the one you were with all the time during college ?" Mom asked ." Yahh..!! He's back India after a long time and I thought it would be a great idea to invite him. Both families can meet and he also have a son, a year older than Anshi." Huhh..does that mean I have to cancel my evening plans. Ohh god my plansss...!!!
" But what about my plans and my enjoyment." I questioned in an annoying tone. "You can go on with your plans next Sunday and you'll definitely enjoy with them." Dad said. "But Dad..." Before I could say anything else, He cut me off. "Please betaa.." he said with his glimmering eyes. He knows I can't resist those looks. "Anhh..okayyy!!" I said and they both clapped in excitement. I chuckled seeing their reactions. They are really like kids.
"Well, what should we cook for them ? Do you know what would they specifically like ?" Mom asked."Umhh..I guess you should cook delicious Indian food, since they haven't had Indian food for a while." Dad replied pointing his index finger in air. They continued their conversation. "I have completed, I'll go to my room." I said and they both nodded. I stood up and started walking towards the stairs. I am frustrated because of the cancellation of my plans but it's okay. I know I can enjoy with anyone. Hihihi..!!
After reaching my room I sat at the edge of my bed and took my mobile phone. The first notification was from my bestfriend, Rhea. I dialed her number and I was not disappointed because she picked the call after two rings.
("Good morning.") She greeted.
"Hmm..Good morning."
("Heyy..what happened ? Why are you sounding like that ? I thought you'll be happy because it's Sunday..!!")
"Yaa..I was happy and you know what I decided everything about today but my dad just told me that his college friend is visiting him with his family and we're having a dinner. So I have to attend it and my evening plans are cancelled." I explained.
(" Oooo..well you still have so much time to enjoy.")
" Yupp and Dad also told me that his friend has a son who's a year older than me."
("Just tell me if he's handsome") She chuckled
"Ofcourse..I will click picture of him and send it to you." We both laughed.
(" Okayy..I call you later. Byeee.")
"Okayyyyyyyyy..byeeeeee" I said in a singing tone. She chuckled and cut the call.
I kept my phone aside and decided to watch something on the T.V.
I took the television remote and started my research to find something amazing.
It's been more than an hour and I still couldn't find anything interesting. I guess God doesn't want me to enjoy my weekend. I took my phone and started scrolling. An hour passed but still nothing. My eyes widened as I found the perfect show to watch. Shinchannnn...!!!!!! I took the remote again and played shinchan.
"Anshii..Anshi...Anshii.!!" I paused shinchan as I heard some calling me. I went downstairs and mom was the one calling me from the kitchen. "Yess Mom." I answered. "Just come over here and taste the food. Tell me if it's okay." Mom asked. I was confused. Why is she preparing the food now. Isn't it too early..!!! "Mom what time is it.?" I questioned. "It's already 5:30 PM."
Huhhh 5:30 PM..???? Really, I just wasted my weekend watching shinchan. I pulled my hair in frustration. I'm so lazy. "Hey..what happened ?" Mom asked as she saw me pulling my hair. "Nothing..just regretting that I wasted my weekend." I said as I walked toward her. Mom chuckled and handed me a spoon to taste the food. I took a bite and it was so delicious. "It's really nice." I complemented. She smiled and went back to her work.
Huhh I think I should just get ready so that I can look presentable because currently I am looking like a broke person who hasn't eaten for a week. I laughed a bit seeing my condition. I went straight to the bathroom and decided to wash my hair. After the shower, I dressed up in a simple but elegant black dress. I decided to call Rhea and ask her if my attire is fine.
"Heyyy..!!" I greeted
("Helllooww..!!")
"See how am I looking..??" I said gesturing toward my dress.
(" Is it even a question ? You always look pretty.") She said with a wide smile.
I smiled. "Haha.. thanks. Now I've to go they might be here at any moment."
(" Okkk...byeee take care.")
I stepped out of my room and went downstairs. I saw Dad sitting on the sofa with his laptop. I approached him. "Where's mom ?"
"She's getting ready." Dad replied while looking in his laptop. "Well how am I looking, Dad ?" I questioned and he glanced at me before putting his laptop aside. "Ofcourse you're looking the prettiest as usual." Dad said making me smile. He went back to his work while I went to the kitchen.
I was checking the dishes when the bell rang. I went to the living room. Mom and Dad walked towards the door to attend the guests.
"Hello, Vinod." I heard Dad greeting. They all approached to the living room. "Vinod, meet my daughter, Anshi." Mr. Malhotra and his wife turned towards me "Hello uncle. Nice to meet you." I said while streching my arm. "Hii Anshi." They both said in union. I and Mr. Malhotra shook our hands. "Your daughter is really pretty, Shah." Mr Malhotra said and his wife nodded. " Thank youu." I said with a slight smile. "Well you met our daughter but where's your son." My mom asked.
"I am here, Mrs. Mehra." A voice replied. We all turned towards the door to have a glance.
My eyes widened as I saw him. Ohh dammm..!! He's handsome, actually too handsome.
