Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Chun-Li: "If you win, you can leave it on my thigh"

The next morning...

Upon waking up and looking at the page that said he could buy another 100 GP, Caleb didn't think twice before taking 10 million from the D-Dial and buying GP.

[+100 GP!]

'With this, all the reward from Arlong is gone.' Caleb thought, not really caring about that small amount of Belly.

Stretching, he got out of bed.

...

In the kitchen while making coffee, Caleb thought about the options he had for spinning the roulette.

One of them was recycling the 'Akari Shimizu' card and gaining 10 roulette chances in 'Solo Leveling', costing 4 GP each time.

'If I do this, at least 1 out of the 10 will be something good.' Caleb thought calmly: 'I don't think Sung Jin-Woo will show up, but there are several items and characters there that could be more useful than 'Akari Shimizu'. Not to mention, by doing this, if I get another item I don't want, I can choose to recycle and spin again in this dimension.'

Having decided, he chose to dismantle this card and gain the chance to spin in the 'Solo Leveling' dimension 10x.

[-40 GP]

1: [Steel-Fanged Raikans]

2: [Kang Taeshik]

3: [Purple Essence Stone]

4: [Orb of Avarice]

5: 10x [Warm Fur Coat]

6: [Rune Stone]

7: 10x [Warm Gloves]

8: [Min Byung-Gyu]

9: [Hwang Dongsuk]

10: [Holy Water of Life]

'Two cards I consider exceptional and... Two other very good ones, the rest... Well, just the rest.' He thought, clicking on one of the cards.

[Min Byung-Gyu]

Description:

The death of the Ant Queen attracted the Ant King, who violently attacked the group, severely injuring them. Byung-Gyu used his Disguise magic to try to heal his companions but was located and brutally impaled by the King. Before dying, he shouted for Baek to run before the Ant King devoured his head, killing him instantly.

Skills:

-[Disguise]

-[Magic Book]

-[Enhancement Magic]

-[Healing Magic]

[Summon X] – [Assimilate] – [Recycle]

'I kind of already figured it wouldn't be possible to summon him.' Caleb thought: 'But, it's still good that I can assimilate him. His healing ability is very good. And the book he used must be something similar to a Zanpakutō.'

'Should I summon Orihime Inoue and let her assimilate this card?'

It was tempting, but he didn't need to rush his decision. Since he still had 70 GP, it was better to decide after using all the GP.

Precisely because of that, he chose to spin randomly this time.

[-30 GP]

1: [Hei Hei (Moana)]

2: [Senzu Bean (Dragon Ball)]

3: [Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken)]

4: [Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)]

5: [Sacred Toilet Brush (Konosuba)]

6: [1x Weakness Removal Card]

7: [10 GP]

8: [Furemaru (My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered)]

9: [Hana Yurikawa (Mieruko-chan)]

10: [Significantly increases basic stats]

When he saw the list of cards, he clicked on Erza.

[Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)]

Description: During the confrontation with Jellal Fernandes, Erza was gravely injured while facing the Meteor Blade attack and other powerful spells. In the end, she sacrificed herself to protect Natsu, blocking a massive Etherion attack and died.

Skills:

-[Requip]

-[Sword Magic]

-[Telekinesis]

-[Enchant Magic]

-[Immense Magic Power]

[Summon] – [Assimilate] – [Recycle]

'I'm surprised she accepted being summoned to another world.' Caleb thought.

However, he understands that not everyone wants to cease existing, and if given the chance—even if it means living in another world—they would still accept.

Erza isn't the only good card that came this time. One of them was the one he used immediately: 'Significantly increases basic stats'.

When he used it, this time it only showed a 9% increase, but to him, it was still a very good amount.

Clenching his hand into a fist, he could feel his strength enhanced.

It wasn't just a simple strength increase—even his senses had improved.

Extending his hand, he clicked on another card.

[Furemaru (My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered)]

Description:

A black material with a honeycomb structure obtained from the Giant Robot that Tomochika and Yogiri encountered. The material seems to be the same component the robot used for its artificial muscles. It can freely change its shape, color, and hardness.

[Equip] – [Use] – [Recycle]

He had a vague memory of this item.

Thinking about its durability—capable of withstanding an attack as strong as a missile—it became an indispensable item for him, since it could freely transform into whatever he wanted.

Without hesitation, he clicked on 'Equip'.

When he did, in his mind, with the help of the Sage, he managed to change the appearance of the outfit, making it look like white pants, black sneakers, a fitted white T-shirt, and a black overcoat on top.

Holding the overcoat, he thought: 'Huh, not bad at all.'

"Caleb-sama? When did you change clothes?" Saeko asked, looking in his direction.

"My own thing." Caleb replied. Seeing her roll her eyes, he laughed a bit, explaining: "It's an item similar to your suit, but the one I use can change however I want it to."

"I'm jealous!"

Not just Saeko, but even Chun-Li exclaimed upon hearing that.

"Haha, sorry, but this is a unique item and it's mine." Caleb said.

"Looks tough." Harribel said, looking at him.

"Mm, that's right." Caleb said. "It's made of a special material and has very good defense."

"I'm getting more and more jealous, damn it..." Chun-Li muttered.

"Relax, if I get something cool, I'll give it to you, okay?" Caleb said.

"Promise?" She perked up.

"Mm, I promise." When he confirmed, Chun-Li's excitement went from 10 to 100.

Saeko didn't ask for anything—she herself felt it would be unfair since she had the Gantz Suit.

[Rune Stone]

Description:

Contains the skill [Rage] which allows the user to double their strength for three minutes at a time.

[Learn] – [Recycle]

"Actually, I have something that might be good for you." Caleb said while looking at the information described on the 'Rune Stone'.

"Really?" She came up to him like a swallow—fast and silent.

Smiling, he took the card that materialized in the real world.

"Hold this card and mentally command 'Learn'. With that, you'll gain a skill capable of doubling your strength for three minutes at a time." Caleb said.

"Sounds powerful... Okay, I'll try it!" Excited, she took the card from his hand.

After looking and reading what was written, she touched her chin, nodding and saying "I see, I see..." and then closed her eyes.

Right in front of everyone's eyes, the card in Chun-Li's hand disappeared.

And then, she opened her eyes, looking excited: "Wow! That was so simple~!"

Then, she looked at Caleb: "I want to test it, can you be my opponent?"

"Chun-Li, it's not good to be so impatient." Caleb warned.

"Hehe, scared?" she asked with a teasing smile.

"Haha, do you really think that kind of provocation works on me?" Caleb laughed, walking over to the open area at the back of the ship. With his hands in the pockets of his overcoat, he looked at her with a challenging smile: "What are you waiting for? Come, I'll show you what fear is."

"For someone who said he wouldn't be provoked, it seems to have worked just fine..." Chun-Li was fearless—she knew she wouldn't win, but she'd be satisfied if she could at least kick that handsome face of his once and wipe that little smile off it.

Before Caleb touched the hilt of his sword, Chun-Li held up her hand to signal "stop."

"Wait." Under Caleb's confused gaze, she said: "Ahem, remember you asked me to be your lap pillow?"

"I'm listening." Caleb turned serious.

"How about this." She elaborated: "For 3 minutes, you can only dodge. If I can't land a hit, I'll let you lie on my thigh like you asked. But if you lose, you'll have to give me something of equal value to Saeko's suit."

There's no such thing as a free lunch—she knew that. If she wanted something good, she had to fight for it!

Caleb's eyes became completely serious.

"How long will I be able to lie on your thigh?" Caleb asked.

"One hour." She replied.

"I accept." Caleb put his hands back in his pockets.

It was meant to be a relaxed stance, but Chun-Li didn't see any openings when he assumed that posture.

Still, she didn't lose motivation because of that—after all, this was something she brought upon herself.

Only with the feeling of "loss" could she truly give it her all.

'Why does he look so handsome when he's serious like that, but the reason he's serious is simply because he wants to lie on my thigh?' She didn't understand. She really didn't understand—but she also didn't care to understand that much.
