"I heard The Deep was seriously injured. After he recovers, his sea life contacts should report that someone died here."
Billy glanced at the body bag, casually lighting a cigarette.
It was just an ordinary person—unlikely to attract attention from superhumans or Vought.
For simple murder cases like this, those high-ranking heroes wouldn't care at all, which made Billy's situation relatively safe.
Several days passed.
Except for The Deep, everyone in The Seven had recovered from their injuries.
However, these individuals felt uncertain now. While their wounds had healed, their reputations continued declining steadily.
Though they didn't care about ordinary humans, they understood their current status and privileges came from these very people they despised.
They hadn't yet prepared for direct confrontation with Vought, so they had to follow corporate directives for now.
"Just received word—someone's robbing a bank. While I can't vent my anger on others, criminals are different!"
Homelander's mouth curved into a slight smile as he spoke, barely containing his impatience.
Nothing provided better physical and mental relief than killing people. Yet these ordinary people who supposedly needed their protection dared make so many demands.
"I want to participate!"
Queen Maeve was first to volunteer. The rage burning within her matched anyone else's, and this was perfect opportunity for release—she wouldn't let others claim it.
"Suit yourself," Homelander replied casually. Killing one person was the same as killing two.
"Homelander, I want to go too!" A-Train said seriously.
He felt his abilities had grown stronger. This mission would provide both emotional outlet and personal assessment opportunity.
This way, he could evaluate his strength relative to others. If he'd become powerful enough, he could defeat Homelander, overcome Vought's security, and seize control of the corporation.
"Fine. There are plenty of robbers—enough for everyone to share!"
Through The Seven's discussion, everyone except The Deep prepared to deploy.
"Deep, you can recuperate here!"
Homelander regarded The Deep with disdain. He found the aquatic hero pathetic—his power resembled Translucent's. Without his unique abilities, how could The Deep have ever qualified for The Seven?
"Sorry, Homelander. I still need several more days to recover."
While superhumans possessed better healing than ordinary people, recovery rates varied significantly among enhanced individuals.
A-Train, who'd suffered similar injuries, looked perfectly healthy now, while The Deep could only continue healing and wait for full restoration.
Glancing dismissively at The Deep, Homelander turned and exited the lobby. They still had a bank robbery to resolve.
The other members departed using their respective abilities, racing toward the targeted bank.
The fastest among them were Homelander, who could fly, and A-Train, renowned for his speed.
When the others arrived, both speedsters had already reached the scene.
The two heroes' appearance drew cheers from surrounding crowds, while robbers inside the bank broke into nervous sweats.
"Damn it! Weren't they all injured? Why are they all here?"
They'd decided to rob this bank precisely because they knew The Seven had been severely wounded. They'd never imagined the team would recover so quickly.
The infamous Homelander and the world's fastest man had arrived together.
As other heroes rushed over, everyone present grew more amazed.
"Shit! Everyone's here except The Deep—we're finished!"
People worldwide knew these superheroes' tremendous power. Even one would be enough to crush them completely.
Now virtually the entire team was present, and they could already envision their gruesome fate.
Da-da-da-da...
One robber, knowing escape was impossible, turned and fired frantically at people inside the bank. If he was going to die, he'd take some victims with him.
The sudden gunfire made everyone scream, but smiles appeared on Homelander and A-Train's faces. This was exactly what they'd been waiting for.
All present heroes rushed toward the bank. Except for Starlight, who genuinely worried about hostages, the others could barely restrain their desire to vent their fury.
This was reflected in their actions. Homelander and A-Train charged into the bank first, followed by Black Noir and Queen Maeve, with newcomer Starlight entering last.
Inside the bank, Homelander's heat vision swept instantly across the room, piercing through one robber's gun hand while also blasting through a bald bank executive's head nearby.
A-Train ran at maximum speed throughout the bank, grabbing a robber and hurling him toward the hostage crowd.
The criminal crashed into the hostages, and several unlucky civilians were struck so hard they spat blood.
In their eyes, these hostages and robbers were already dead anyway. It made no difference whether they were shot by criminals or killed by heroes.
Both enjoyed the thrill of murder while Black Noir and Queen Maeve also charged inside.
They each grabbed robbers and threw them into the hostage crowd before beginning their own killing spree.
Black Noir particularly reveled in the slaughter, even picking up robbers' weapons to fire into the civilian crowd.
Numerous hostages fell. They hadn't died at criminals' hands, but at the hands of heroes they'd revered.
This froze Starlight in place as she finally witnessed The Seven's true nature. What kind of superheroes were these? Just a group wielding superpowers for wanton murder.
However, after these days together, she understood these people's strength.
Knowing the gap between herself and them, Starlight didn't dare act at all, only watching helplessly as these so-called heroes slaughtered frantically.
She realized none of these people would survive—the heroes needed to preserve their reputations.
As surrounding battle sounds gradually quieted, Homelander and the others all looked at Starlight.
"Why aren't you moving?"
Homelander asked coldly. If Starlight didn't participate, they risked exposure.
Starlight now had only two choices: either begin acting and kill the remaining robbers and hostages, or be murdered by them and blamed on the criminals.
Sensing everyone's dangerous gazes, Starlight swallowed hard, slowly raising her hand toward the surviving robbers and hostages.
She didn't want to die, so these people had to.
"Sorry... I want to live."
Brilliant light erupted, illuminating the entire bank with blinding radiance. Starlight used this opportunity to kill all remaining robbers and hostages under The Seven's watchful eyes.
