Chapter 248 - Chapter 248: Incomplete Formula

Marcus observed the conversation through the razor butterfly perched discreetly in the Boys' safe house. The name "Sage Grove" resonated with him instantly. His vast knowledge, drawn from a source beyond this world, contained detailed information on Vought's history. Sage Grove wasn't just any facility; it was one of the oldest, a place with deep ties to Frederick Vought himself and his early experiments—and, more importantly, to the supe known as Stormfront.

If a complete, untampered version of the Compound V formula existed anywhere, it would be there.

"The Boys did a good job," Marcus mused to himself. "They found the path."

However, he couldn't allow them to go in alone. Nor could he simply level the building as Mag. This mission required subtlety and precision. A frontal assault would destroy the very research he sought to acquire. He needed a scalpel, not a sledgehammer.

"This occasion," he decided, "calls for a gentleman's touch."

Energy began to coalesce around him, but it wasn't the raw, crushing magnetism of Mag or the crackling kinetic power of Gauss. This was a different kind of power—the ethereal energy of the void. His form shifted, his clothes reforming into an immaculate black and white suit, complete with a matching top hat. His very being took on the appearance of a living photographic negative, a perfect silhouette of a gentleman from another era.

He had become Limbo.

With a final, elegant adjustment of his hat, Marcus opened a shimmering, misty tear in reality itself.

"The stage is set," Limbo's smooth voice echoed in the empty room. "Let us see what secrets you're hiding, Sage Grove."

He stepped through the portal, disappearing without a sound, his path now set to converge with the Boys at the forgotten hospital.

In the psychiatric hospital, Billy and MM acted like employees. They followed the razor butterfly and moved quietly, completely unaware that a gentleman in black and white had appeared behind them.

"Then let's start with gathering intel!"

While speaking, Marcus's perception covered the entire mental hospital. He knew who was in each room and what they were doing better than anyone else.

"This is a laboratory?" The sudden appearance of a laboratory in his perception shocked Marcus, and then there was a burst of joy in his heart. "It seems that this time is right on target."

After that, Marcus walked toward one direction, which was the entrance of the laboratory.

In addition to holding all kinds of superhumans in this psychiatric hospital, it also had a laboratory that continuously manufactured superhumans. He might be able to find the formula of Compound V from the memory of the researchers in the laboratory.

Walking into the laboratory, Marcus's distinctive appearance quickly attracted the attention of everyone in the laboratory.

A researcher was the first to yell—he still had vivid memories of the organization that turned Vought Corporation into a miniature pyramid.

Under his shout, many people reacted.

This time, they saw a different armored man. How many people were there in the Tenno Council?

Amidst the horrified screams of the researchers, Marcus tapped lightly in the air, and the energy of the rift spread out quickly, bringing all these guys into the rift plane.

Of course, while Marcus brought them into the rift plane, he also released stasis smoothly.

Everyone who entered the rift plane was frozen, unable to move.

"Let me see who among you has the formula for Compound V."

Of course, Marcus wouldn't go through all the memories of everyone. Important things like Compound V must be in the hands of the leaders.

As for the researchers here, several of them were the leaders of the laboratory, and some of them must have mastered the formula of Compound V.

He stretched out his hand and tapped lightly on the forehead of one of them, and with the light emerging from Marcus's fingertips, the memory of this researcher appeared in front of Marcus.

"Interesting. Although this guy has mastered the formula of Compound V, it's not the complete formula. It seems that Vought Corporation has also put a lot of effort into secrecy."

In his memory, this researcher had once studied Compound V, and he wanted to reproduce it in his own way, but unfortunately he failed. The formula of Compound V he had mastered wasn't perfect—only the part he was responsible for was accurate.

After checking this guy's memory, Marcus turned to put his hand on another researcher's forehead.

Like the first person, he only mastered one complete step, which made Marcus feel a little helpless. There weren't many leaders. If he wanted to get the complete formula of Compound V, he would have to find several more pieces of the compound formula.

It didn't take long for Marcus to obtain several different versions of the Compound V formula. Without exception, except for only a part that was correct, the others were all fabricated.

According to the memories of these people, Marcus had a rough idea of the formula of Compound V, and determined the real formula pieces they each had.

"Is that all? Vought Corporation really hides deep enough."

That was all the formula for Compound V. He hadn't gotten the complete compound formula yet, which made him somewhat regretful.

"It's time for those guys to make a mess, so that they can force out other people who have control of Compound V from Vought Corporation."

Thinking this, the energy flow of Marcus's fingertips aroused the void energy dormant in the bodies of the Seven.

A blue light flashed in the eyes of the Seven who had just recovered from their injuries, and then under Starlight's shocked gaze, they used their abilities to destroy everything around them.

The Vought Corporation building, which was being rebuilt, was instantly shattered, and the original Seven, at this moment, were facing Vought Corporation like enemies of the corporation.

"Homelander, Queen Maeve, you..."

The change of several people shocked Edgar. He didn't expect these guys to suddenly change sides and choose to be his enemy.

"Are you going to rebel?"

"Rebellion?" Homelander smiled wildly and shook his finger lightly. "You are not our ruler—we just plan to make a superhuman the leader of Vought Corporation!"

Homelander's words made Edgar stunned for a moment, and then he snorted again.

"What makes you think that you can fight with Vought Corporation? Don't forget, it is Vought Corporation that gave you all this."

Hearing these words, several people laughed disdainfully. They hadn't only been recovering from their injuries during this time—they had also investigated the internal strength of Vought Corporation.

In addition to the so-called Stormfront, there was also the woman who could make anything explode.

As for the other superhumans, they didn't find any traces, or they didn't see any superpowers appear.

"You don't want to threaten us in this way, do you?"

A few people sneered. Since they dared to face Vought Corporation, it meant that they were ready to fight.

"It seems that you have planned this for a long time, but you don't think I really have no backup?"

Just as he was talking, a rocket made a trail in the air and blasted toward Vought Corporation.

"Hahaha, I didn't expect that such a betrayal would happen to the famous Vought Corporation.

You're fighting against your own cash cow—what will you do this time?"

There was wanton laughter coming from the loudspeaker of the radio. This situation, for guys with ulterior motives like them, was simply fantastic.
