Chapter 416 - Chapter 416: Preparation

"Don't worry about Diana right now. Let me see the demon remains you brought back," Constantine said.

Constantine didn't care too much about Diana's situation. Even if she really was an Amazon, it wouldn't have much impact on the world.

After all, Amazons, like Atlanteans, had existed on Earth long ago.

Earth wasn't just humanity's planet, but belonged to many races. Whether aquatic or terrestrial, they all originated from Earth itself.

Seeing Constantine so eager, Bruce didn't hesitate. He directly took out the bull-headed demon's head and the beetle demon's large horn.

Upon seeing these two items, Constantine felt a surge of evil energy emanating from them.

These were undoubtedly demons, but he had to confirm they were servants of higher demons.

He formed seals with both hands, and heavenly power took shape, transforming into a magic circle that enveloped his hands.

He waved gently at the two demon remains, and the magic circle on his arms suddenly coiled around them like snakes.

A pair of magical armguards covered his arms. At the same time, two magical threads flew out, wrapped around the wreckage, and dragged it before him.

After the two pieces of wreckage stopped in front of him, Constantine began chanting continuously. A huge magic circle appeared before him.

The next moment, dazzling light flashed. Everyone watched with their own eyes as thin lines shining with silver light spread out from the two demon remains.

Starting from the heads, the lines continued spreading outward, gradually condensing into arms and torsos before them.

Seeing the demon bodies being gradually restored, Bruce's eyes lit up. Constantine was reconstructing the demons' bodies.

The restored bodies looked exactly the same as what he'd seen before—whether it was the sharp horns or the hard armor, there was no difference at all.

"Yes, that's right. The beetle demon looked exactly like this. As for the bull-headed demon, I killed it with machine guns from the plane. It was already blown to pieces, so I can't confirm it completely."

Hearing Bruce's words, Constantine was pleased. His spell hadn't gone wrong—the restored body was exactly what Bruce had seen.

However, he remained focused on the restoration. After all, the spell wasn't complete yet. If he stopped now, the restored bodies would completely shatter.

He wouldn't choose to do that. As long as the spell was completed, he could examine these restored demons personally and evaluate them properly.

Selina and Alfred were both surprised.

They'd both seen demons before, especially Selina. The number of demons she'd encountered was no less than Bruce's, but she'd never seen demons like these.

"Are these the two types of demons you encountered? It seems the problems in Star City and Central City are very serious!"

Such powerful demons had been summoned in those two cities. She couldn't help but pay attention, especially because these demons' strength was formidable. Even Bruce, who was slightly stronger than her, couldn't compete with them.

Soon Constantine's magic ended. The two restored demons were trapped in the magic circle, with chains covering their bodies.

He lowered his hands and examined both demons carefully. Having reshaped them surprised him—these demons' strength wasn't ordinary. He had to analyze them carefully.

"It seems they really are servants of higher demons. But this beetle demon is stronger. Perhaps it has some reputation among the higher demon's servants."

Hearing Constantine's conclusion, everyone looked at each other. They were completely in the dark about these matters and didn't understand much at all.

Even though they'd begun consciously collecting various documents about demons, they still didn't understand much about Hell's demons.

For example, what did the "reputation" Constantine mentioned mean? As servants of higher demons, did they still need to make names for themselves?

Seeing everyone's confused expressions, Constantine shook his head.

"Higher demons have many servants around them—this is the status a higher demon should have.

"But having large numbers of followers means the higher demons don't know all their servants' names. Not everyone can work directly for higher demons, so only greater reputation can make higher demons notice them and assign them tasks to make them stronger.

"Those servants ignored by higher demons will only remain the lowest servants, waiting for new opportunities..."

His explanation was very clear. Everyone understood why these demon servants needed reputation. They were servants following higher demons, and if they wanted to become stronger, they needed certain fame.

As for ways to gain fame, it was simply through greater strength or making all demon servants acknowledge their fighting power.

Either way would gain the higher demon's favor and make them stronger.

This made everyone understand. Constantine had made it very clear—the beetle demon's strength was greater than the bull-headed demon's.

If both were servants of higher demons, the beetle demon being stronger than the bull-headed demon meant it probably had certain fame.

This wasn't good news. A famous demon suddenly disappearing wasn't normal.

Even if only the demon's projection disappeared, it was enough to drive other demons crazy.

If it became weaker, many demons would be ready to make moves. After all, Hell wasn't the human world—there was no humanitarian spirit there. They only followed the law of the jungle.

If you became weaker, stronger ones would defeat and devour you, turning you into part of their own strength.

Understanding the relationships between demons, Bruce and the others frowned. They hadn't expected this situation.

But their strength really wasn't enough. Even if all members were gathered together, they might not be able to fight those powerful demons.

Maybe Clark, as Superman, could do it, but it was really difficult for others. Even with the Incinerator Ring, it was hard for them to fight and win battles against powerful demons.

"But you don't need to worry too much. No matter who replaces them, they can only send projections. It's not easy for their true bodies to come to Earth. Otherwise, Earth would've become a demon paradise long ago."

Constantine wasn't too worried about these demon servants. Although their strength was formidable, it was at least within fightable range.

If it were those higher demons, or even Satan himself, then things would be truly troublesome.

Those beings could incarnate on Earth, and the power they could exert was extremely powerful.

"I see. But we still can't be careless. After all, the incident in Gotham over twenty years ago almost allowed demons to enter Earth," Bruce said with a slight nod.

He roughly understood demon servants now, but these powerful demon servants were still the focus of their defense.

After all, not everyone was like Constantine, who'd mastered countless magics and could banish opponents even if he couldn't beat them.

Additionally, the scope of the demon-summoning organization was too wide. They couldn't guarantee they could stop all demons with just a few people.

So they still had to speed up—develop more members, accelerate the Incinerator Lanterns' spread, and let their strength continue improving.

"Right now, we're not opponents for these demon servants, so we must keep improving," Bruce said.

"That's right, but improving strength needs to be gradual. When facing these demons, everyone's strength basically can't match them."

As he spoke, Constantine seemed to think of something. He suddenly picked up a pen and started writing and drawing on paper.

"This might help you!"

Because he knew others didn't master magic, Constantine thought of a special way to help everyone.

He was drawing a magic circle on paper—one specifically used to banish demons. This spell had no effect on humans, but for demons, it had extremely powerful suction, pulling all demons in and banishing them.

Looking at the magic circle on paper, everyone looked at each other in confusion. They didn't understand magic. Would this really work?

"This is a magic circle for exiling demons. You just need to construct it according to the design on paper. As long as you can complete the construction, you'll succeed.

"Of course, using actual magic spells is possible too, but casting such magic requires certain prices. I don't think you'll choose that."

Even though he now had the Incinerator Ring, Constantine rarely used direct magic anymore. Most spells he used were released by constructing magic circles.

Although this was cumbersome, it was very effective and didn't cost anything.

After all, the price of casting spells wasn't fixed. Sometimes it required sacrifices, and sometimes it could kill the caster.

"I see," several people said, not insisting further.

Since the exorcism expert said so, they naturally wouldn't refuse.

Although constructing this magic circle looked extremely cumbersome, it would at least make facing demon servants easier.

While everyone learned to use the Incinerator Ring's heavenly power to construct magic circles, Constantine approached the Covenant Incinerator and attached his Incinerator Lantern to it. With pure white light, the lantern began flickering and growing stronger.

"Finally recharged. And judging by this incinerator's appearance, the power within has increased. Seems my future battles will be much easier!"

Looking at the energy-filled lantern, Constantine laughed. The Incinerator Lantern brought him powerful force he could borrow. As long as this power could continuously improve, his exorcisms would become easier.

This was a feeling he'd never had before. Using magic without constraints to deal with demons was much better than using various methods, even using others to suppress demons.

"However, demon servants actually responding to these summoners' calls... What exactly are they doing?"

These were all higher demons. To make them respond required presenting high-quality sacrifices.

Thinking of the significance of those high-quality sacrifices, Constantine couldn't help but narrow his eyes.

"In this world, human nature is indeed more terrifying than demons."

Shaking his head gently, Constantine returned to the living room with his lantern, watching everyone continuously construct the magic circle he'd drawn, a faint smile on his face.

Back at the Kent Farm

"I've got news for you. One of Jim's cows next door was drained of blood and turned into a mummy," Jonathan said as soon as he got home, telling Marcus what he'd seen and heard today.

Jim owned the neighboring farm and raised a large herd of cattle. Today, Jim had found one cow missing. He'd then discovered the missing cow in the forest outside his farm. The cow was completely dried out, as if it had been drained of blood and hung up to dry for a long time.

This strange situation made Jonathan pay close attention and collect all kinds of information about Jim's farm very seriously.

"Drained of blood and turned into a mummy?" Marcus frowned.

This kind of thing was unusual. There was definitely something wrong.

Otherwise, even if the cow died, it shouldn't be drained of blood and turned into a mummy. It would just be a cow corpse.

"You two stay inside the house. I'll go check it out!" Marcus said.

This unusual occurrence made Marcus think a demon had done this. It was impossible for a human.

After all, draining a cow's blood overnight and turning it into a mummy—only a demon could do something like that.

The reason for this certainty was that Jim counted his cows every day. Since it was discovered today, it must have happened last night, possibly even in the early morning.

Hearing Marcus's words, Jonathan and Martha both nodded. They understood what he meant.

Marcus had come back to protect them and prevent them from being attacked by demons.

Walking out the door, Marcus's eyes suddenly lit up. His perception range began expanding. He had to see if there was anything that shouldn't be on the farm first.

"Well... fortunately, there's no strange presence," he muttered.

No demonic energy was found on the farm, which meant it hadn't been invaded by demons. Now he only needed to explore Jim's neighboring farm.

A golden-red empowerment instantly merged with him. Marcus immediately transformed into golden electrical current and rushed toward Jim's farm.

After obtaining the Speed Force, he'd rarely used this power. Now he was using it along with his bio-force field to screen for demons.

Marcus, having integrated the Speed Force, moved incredibly quickly. He arrived at Jim's farm in the blink of an eye. Jim's farm was brightly lit at this time. Obviously, losing a cow had made the old cowboy very angry, and he was protecting his herd.
