Chapter 4 - God slayer

They waited.

He smiled beneath his hood.

"If you must know… the answer is simple."

His smile grew wider, his presence darker, heavier, as if the air itself recoiled from his very being.

"I just wanted destruction."

....

No one spoke. Everyone was left speechless, their breath caught in their throats.

And that silence lingered—for just a second—before it was shattered by none other than the Dragon God.

"You…

Bastard!"

He roared and launched forward, using the ground beneath him as a springboard, the sheer force of his leap cracking and breaking the mountain cliff beneath.

BOOM.

In a single second, he was directly in front of the God of Destruction. His only hand pulled back, covered in gleaming golden scales, fist clenched, glowing with power. And then—he threw it.

The God of Destruction, momentarily surprised by the sudden assault, reacted swiftly. He brought both hands up and crossed them in front of him, forming an X to block the attack.

But—

BOOM.

It wasn't enough.

The moment the punch landed, the Destruction God was sent flying like a rag doll, tossed through the air violently.

BOOM.

He crashed into the ground with a deafening thunder. The gods nearby instinctively retreated, creating distance between themselves and the fallen Destruction God, their faces filled with caution and dread.

Above them, the Dragon God floated, wings spread—two enormous golden wings extending from his back, glimmering in the dark. At his head, two long golden horns curved upward, glowing brilliantly in contrast to the surrounding gloom.

The very cliff they'd stood upon just moments ago was now gone—obliterated by the Dragon God's leap.

Hovering beside him were the third and fourth sisters. The fourth sister flapped her two black wings gently, maintaining her place in the air, while the third sister, wingless, was suspended by swirling concentrated winds encircling her body, keeping her afloat.

"This madman…" the third sister—the Elemental Goddess—spoke with a voice laced with anger and disgust.

"No."

A voice emerged from within the dust storm, the very spot the God of Destruction had been thrown into.

"I am not a madman."

The dust began to clear slowly.

"I am free.

Free from the shackles that once held my true self back. Free from the duties that were never meant for me. Free from the world itself."

As the dust fully cleared, everyone gasped at the figure that stood revealed.

A man—no, something like a man—stood there. His skin was pitch black, darker than a void as if it absorbed light itself. His body cracked and splintered at every joint and angle, fractures running across his chest, arms, and even his face. A jagged crack cut across his features, leading to his glowing crimson eyes that gleamed with something terrifying and otherworldly.

A man? No. An abomination in the shape of a man.

Seeing this, the fourth sister suddenly grinned widely.

"Hahahaha! As expected, you didn't escape unscathed after fighting Father," she said, her smile bright, her hope rekindled. She saw now that their odds in this battle had just improved.

"Of course not. Did you really think I could win without taking damage?" he replied with a broken smile. His face looked as if it would shatter at any moment.

"If so, then dear Fourth Sister, you've vastly overestimated me."

His tone shifted as he raised his voice.

"Enough chit-chat. Let's end this farce once and for all."

The smile vanished from his face, replaced by deadly seriousness.

At that moment, the Dragon God screamed one word to the surrounding gods.

"RUNNNNNNN!"

But— it was,

"Too late," the Destruction God said coldly, sweeping his hand in a wide arc around himself.

SPLASH.

The gods surrounding him were suddenly decapitated—heads severed cleanly from their bodies. Blood sprayed from their necks, shooting into the air and raining down upon the earth like crimson hail.

A rain of blood.

The Destruction God stood tall, bathing in the blood of the gods. In his hand, he now held a sword.

A blade—deep crimson, like congealed blood.

He slowly raised it before his face, eyes fixed on its edge.

"God Slayer," he said, speaking directly to the weapon. "From now on, you are the God Slayer."

"No longer VIRELSORROW, A Blade of mercy and Reckoning, who saves the innocent and judges the false, shines in mercy, Darkens in truth,

But now you are a God slayer who slays the gods and brings destruction to the universe destroys everything wherever it goes a blade reformed through the death of heaven and blood of God,

A blade made for pure destruction and chaos,"

His eyes were locked on the weapon with morbid fascination.

But his reverie was short-lived.

From his left, a flash of green light sliced toward him—horizontal and aimed directly at his neck.

CLANK.

He moved swiftly, sword tip angled downward, blocking the strike just in time.

Standing beside him, the Vampire Goddess pushed her crystalline green sword against his with force, a manic smile on her face.

"In battle, you shouldn't let your guard down, dear First Brother," she mocked, eyes filled with hatred and disgust.

"Yeah, yeah, you're right but you shou—"

Before he could finish, he sensed another presence—on his right.

Quickly, he used his free left hand, clenched it into a fist, and drove it hard into the Vampire Goddess's abdomen.

"Ughhh!"

She groaned as she was hurled backward, the force of the impact knocking her through the air.

Without delay, the Destruction God raised his own sword from its lowered stance and swung it down in a full arc toward his right—

And then his eyes widened.

'Shit. They got me,' he thought.

A seemingly random god stood on his right, attempting a weak attack. Too weak to cause real harm—but clearly, that wasn't the point.

It was a distraction.

And it had worked.

"Die," a voice screamed from in front of him.

Too fast.

He couldn't move in time.

BOOM.

He was hit.
