Alicia's POV
—
Last night told me everything I needed to know—that Anthony was slowly letting me in. And perhaps, this thing I feel deep inside for him… maybe he feels it too.
Anthony cares for me just like I care for him.
A slow smile crept across my cheek. I glanced at my reflection in the mirror—my face was flushed, my eyes bright—all because of Anthony's effect on me.
I had just finished my shower and slipped into a velvet-red dress that stopped at my knees. My hair curled softly down my shoulders. I gave myself one last look before stepping out.
That was when the call came in.
"Hi, Hera," I said gently.
She let out a long sigh. "I'm so sorry, Alicia. I heard about what happened. Are you okay?"
I had expected her to be upset—maybe even furious—that I left without telling her or didn't end up wearing the dress she designed. She was always business-minded. But right now, she sounded like she genuinely cared.
