Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2

What would you do if you had the chance to go back in time? Would you spend the time fixing your mistakes, or just living the moment, creating wonderful memories?

Life is full of ups and downs, why mind just the downs?

I paced round my kitchen with a phone in my hand, dressed in a pink leggings and a white crop top.

"Uhh, yeah, a Mister Reginald from my late September show last year," I soaked my mouth with a cup of coffee. "Huh? No? Okay."

Another call came through, "Have you heard from him?" I asked in anticipation, tapping the kitchen table in front of me. The caller kept on asking for the person's name giving me tad amount of hope. "Mr. Reginald, yes. No? You haven't. Okay. No problem." I'd repeatedly said all through the day. I sank my head in my palm depending on the table for support.

I continued tapping my fingers on the table, slowly my eyes descended on my baby in the court. He resembled a gift wrapped in a box. My lovely surprise present.

Mr. Frederick called me and excitement sprung in me. I hurriedly picked up the phone. "Hello?"

"Miss, Ballè,"

"That's me."

"I've spoken with Mr. Mathew whose a business partner to Mr. Reginald." My heart sparkled with joy. "According to him, he doesn't let people know of his whereabouts, especially during this period. He's quite secretive, so it may be impossible to book an appointment with him."

I was about pleading, when his voice interjected, "But I will try my best to arrange an appointment with him."

"Thank you," I exhaled, finally dropping my phone with an iota of hope in me. I ruffled my blonde puffy hair, exhaling. I need a bottle of Vodka.

No one expect mistakes, at least not this type. My eyes glanced to the side, capturing my baby. This is rather a gift. I proceeded to carrying my boy wrapped in his blanket. I stared into his eyes seeing nothing else than his father's grey eyes.

My mind flashed back to September when I first met Mr. Reginald.

"You're an abomination to society! I spent my life praising you only to be greeted with this disgrace. You're shameful."

"Leave."

Those words of his were harsh but carried so much sincerity like an adult correcting a child. I didn't like the way he insulted me; not at all. I've lived my whole life figuring life myself, at least trying to, but the way he insulted me made me feel like he actually cared about me.

He was mistaken. I didn't engage in whatever he thought I did. He was actually my very first Midnight Meet up. It was an idea brought up by some crooked people, so they made it known to people.

Those were just dumb rumours I cared less about. Of course so many men wanted to sleep with me because of my status but I didn't let them.

I don't know what got into me to agree to let him see me that night. loved how he didn't want to sleep with me.

Does that make sense?

Yet, I loved how he did.

"Smile for the camera Vickie!"

"Strike a pose, Victoria!"

"You look stunning, miss!"

I went to a company named P and P to sign up to be a PR officer and model.

Right there at the place, more people praised me as I stood next to my business partners taking pictures. I wore heels, the company 's polo and high waist denim pants. Today, I signed a endorsement deal with P and P Company (Perfect Packaging). It's a business enterprise that deals with packaging all sorts of goods and it's my job to make sure they have a good name in society.

I had to find another source of income. Misfortune had been hovering round me for some months now. My former producer scammed me and took all money. I had been pursuing that case for quite a while now but nothing seemed to be working, he took a flight to another country where no one knew. Now I'm left with almost nothing but my name.

I smiled at one of the workers. "Hello, dear, you look stunning," The lady hurriedly came to me in excitement. I had a way with people, I could light up someone's mood with my social spirit.

With a quirky smile she said "I so love you so much, Victoria Ballè. I listen to all your music. You're my idol."

They all appreciate me, gathering me like the celebrity I am.

I placed a hand on my heart, returning the gesture. "Oh, it's my pleasure. I'm happy to be a member of the P and P."
