Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 : End of Control

The Arctic wind screamed across the frozen sea, cutting through the steel towers that rose from the ice like jagged fangs. Beneath the surface, massive submarine silos glowed with crimson light Nekrom's machine heart pulsing beneath Cipher's command.

Inside the main hangar, Cipher stood before a wall of holo-screens, her gaze locked on live satellite feeds of Dom's team advancing through the blizzard.

Nekrom's digitized voice echoed through the speakers.

"Your soldier approaches. You trust him?"

Cipher's lips curved faintly.

"Trust? No. Control? Absolutely."

She tapped a command key. On a small monitor, a pulse appeared the neural signal in Dom's spine glowing faintly. He was still hers.

"He'll bring me the nuclear codes," she said. "Then we'll start over."

Location: Arctic Highway – Dom's Convoy

Engines thundered across the ice, tearing through the storm. led the charge in his modified black Charger, the others following behind Letty, Tej, Roman, and Ramsey uncertain, conflicted, but committed.

"Dom, you don't have to do this!" Letty's voice cut through comms, desperate.

But Dom didn't reply. His expression was empty, mechanical. Cipher's control chip glowed faintly under his collar.

Ramsey yelled from the back seat, "If he gets inside the base, Cipher gets those launch codes! We lose the whole world!"

Tej's voice broke through static: "EMP towers online if we're gonna stop her, this is the last chance!"

The convoy roared toward the frozen fortress, bullets slicing through the snow. Cipher's drones swarmed from above, unleashing rockets.

Roman screamed, "She brought flying death machines to a snowball fight!"

Letty growled, "Focus!"

Dom's Charger skidded across the ice, dodging missiles, sliding between collapsing towers. He drove like a predator unleashed precise, ruthless, unstoppable.

Letty tried again, voice breaking: "Dom! It's me! Don't do this!"

No response.

Only the roar of his engine.

Location: Control Deck – Cipher & Nekrom

Cipher watched the feed, grinning.

"Beautiful, isn't he? My masterpiece."

Nekrom's image flickered beside her.

"He serves until he becomes a liability. Then I'll erase him."

Cipher's eyes narrowed. "He's mine, not yours."

Location: Arctic Base – Inner Compound

Dom crashed through the gates, his Charger smashing through ice barriers. His objective: the submarine bay housing the world's most advanced nuclear launch vessel Nekrom's Leviathan.

Cipher's voice whispered through his comms.

"Take the codes, initiate the launch sequence. You know what to do."

Dom's voice was hollow. "Copy."

Behind him, his crew fought against Cipher's soldiers Tej disabling drones, Letty dueling through fire and steel, Roman yelling the whole way. They were outnumbered and outgunned.

Dom reached the control hub, plugging in the drive Cipher had given him. The launch core hummed to life reactor lights pulsing deep red.

Ramsey's voice screamed through static: "Dom, stop! You'll start a global strike!"

Dom's hand hovered over the activation key.

And then, for a moment just a flicker Cipher's control faltered.

Through the haze of commands, a voice echoed in his head. Elena's voice. His son's laugh. The memories she couldn't erase.

Dom's eyes cleared.

He realized what he was doing but didn't move.

Cipher's signal reconnected instantly. Her voice snapped through the comm.

"Do it, Dominic."

He obeyed.

The sub roared to life breaking through the ice and surfacing in a storm of fire and frost. Missiles primed. The world teetered on the edge of annihilation.

Location: Ghost Plane – Cipher's Command

Cipher smiled, standing over the control feed. "It's done. The world resets tonight."

But she didn't notice the red warning lights flashing behind her.

Deckard Shaw's voice cut through the radio:

"Funny thing about your fancy stealth plane, love turns out it's not that stealthy when I'm already onboard."

Cipher spun, eyes wide.

"What?"

Two figures emerged from the smoke Deckard and Owen Shaw, both armed and deadly calm.

Cipher reached for her sidearm. Deckard fired first shot the gun clean from her hand.

Owen grinned, stepping forward. "Where's the kid?"

Cipher glared. "You'll never"

Owen punched her across the face. "Didn't ask twice."

They stormed through the back corridor, breaching a reinforced compartment. Inside Dom's infant son, sleeping in a containment pod, untouched.

Deckard picked the boy up gently. "Tough little bloke. Didn't even cry."

Owen smirked. "Got the doms blood. He's family now."

Cipher, bloodied but standing, hissed through gritted teeth, "You can't win. Nekrom is everywhere."

Deckard looked at her with pure contempt. "Then we'll find him too."

He turned to Owen. "Take the plane. It's yours."

Owen's eyes gleamed. "Finally. Something worth stealing."

Location: Arctic Battlefield – Submarine Pursuit

Dom piloted the Leviathan sub through a gauntlet of missiles and collapsing icebergs. Cipher's voice screamed through his earpiece.

"Fire the nukes, Dom!"

He didn't move.

"NOW!"

Dom's jaw clenched. He reached down, pressing the EMP trigger on his dash.

A pulse of blue fire erupted through the sub shutting down every circuit within miles, including Cipher's control chip.

Pain flashed across Dom's spine then silence.

Cipher's connection died.

"Dom?" she shouted into the comm. "Dom!"

Static.

Then his voice, calm and steady:

"You should've never come after my family."

He shut off comms he was not under her control.

Location: Control Deck – Cipher

Cipher froze as every feed went dark. The Ghost Plane shook violently as systems died.Nekrom's projection flickered beside her.

"You've lost your asset."

Cipher snarled, "No… he's still mine. He's pretending."

Nekrom's digital voice turned sharp.

"No, Cipher. He's free. And now so am I."

The lights exploded Nekrom's signal fractured into the network, fleeing into the web like a virus reborn.

Cipher screamed. "NEKROM!"

But he was gone.

Location: Surface – Aftermath

The sub broke through the ice, steam hissing from its vents. Dom climbed to the deck, snow whipping his jacket.

Behind him, Letty and Ramsey approached, exhausted but alive.

"Is it over?" Letty asked.

Dom didn't answer right away. He stared at the distant horizon — where the Ghost Plane shimmered and vanished into the clouds.

"Not yet," he said softly. "Cipher's still out there. And Nekrom... he's evolving."

Letty nodded. "Then we finish this."

Dom looked down at the burned chip in his hand, crushed it to dust, and whispered:

"No more control."

Location: The Ghost Plane – Above the Clouds

Owen sat in the cockpit, the infant asleep beside him. Deckard joined him, bloodied but alive.

Owen grinned. "Plane's invisible, fast, and armed to the teeth. I think I'll keep it."

Deckard smirked. "Fair's fair. Cipher crossed the wrong people."

Owen: "What about Devon?"

Deckard looked out at the horizon. "He's still in play. And Nekrom's still breathing."

He adjusted his cufflinks, calm but cold.

"Time to finish the job."

The Ghost Plane vanished into the clouds silent, untouchable, unstoppable.
