Chapter 69: Son of the Devil. [TRUE ENDING]

~~~ [START]
In the forest, walking past the trees on the approach of a small house built in lonesome, atop the horizon.
"She's not your mother," Alucard's voice muttered, not even turning to the small child walking behind him. "So, don't get comfortable."
Vlad nearly stumbled, but an invisible force pulled him, straightened him, and somehow increased the pace of his steps.
Alucard turned forward toward the door, where an old woman was walking out. "In 11 years, she won't remember you."
And the woman, the one who was now softly approaching both Vlad and Alucard, shared a spark of recognition. But the more her conviction surfaced, the more the smile that had started to bless her lips softly faded.
"Where is—?" Her words stuck, unable to even form a sentence. "Where is Maria?"
Then, tears started falling. And Vlad, who was staring with utmost confusion, could only turn to the creature beside him. But for the first time, for the first time since knowing Alucard for the past three days, a face of dread hung on his cheeks. And his eyes lowered, not even daring to rise to her.
"Where is Maria!?" the woman shouted once more, this time nearly stumbling back.
Alucard only turned to Vlad, who was beside him, head lowered. "Take care of her, boy."
"Dracula!" the woman shouted again. "Where is she? Please, where is your wife? My… my daughter, where is she?!"
"Eleven years." Alucard ignored her; his eyes remained focused on the child below him.
Even Vlad, who was no older than five, could feel the pain in the woman's voice. Yet, before he could act compliant, Alucard flickered a finger, and Vlad walked forward.
He passed the woman, marching toward her door, then closed it shut after he forcefully entered.
But the woman didn't even bother to turn to him, because all her energy was still directed at the figure standing tall before her.
"Where—?"
"Dead," Alucard confessed, his voice barely a whisper, but she heard him.
And heavens knew she would have broken down from it. But unexpectedly, her eyes turned dreadful red, and the frown, all the way to the tears, vanished.
After that, she smiled.
Not because of the hypnosis, or the magic lurking behind her altered mind. But due to the fact that she finally knew the truth.
Alucard was the Devil, and the Devil was the father of lies.
Much as how he lied to Vlad. In fact, Alucard had never had any descendants; he had wiped them out himself.
And as for Vlad, what other reason would he inherit gifts if not for direct lineage?
Vlad was his son. And the woman who died three days ago was his only wife.
Not a vampire or a ghoul. She was human.
Maybe that was the reason Alucard didn't refer to Vlad that way. Because he knew that if he ever did, death might not embrace him.
"Take care of my des—" Alucard's tongue halted, as if the ghost of Maria still hung. "Take care of my son."
Then, the red within the woman's gaze vanished, and after a blink, or the one that came next, Alucard was gone.
Gone to live his last years of life, yearning to join 'She' he loved. 'She' who begged for danger to call him.
Even the Devil once loved music. Even the Devil sang once. And sooner or later, death would meet him.
Sooner or later, death would not stay lone.
~~~ [END]

Now, yes, this changes everything in teams of what Vlad knows, and the memories he got, lol. But it was all a lie; Vlad is actually Alucard's son. And the reason his mother died is that Alucard couldn't stand being in love with a human, so he left, and the only way for her to get his attention was to place herself in danger, not knowing that Alucard would be late. And yes, Vlad was always a half vampire; he just needed to die before he could get them, meaning he died when he got Alucard's memories in the first chapter.

And how does the power work? Well, that will remain unexplained lol, but you could come up with your own theories. And the reason Alucard distanced Vlad from his actual family–Gramps- is that he is old and wise, and he knows what Vlad will go through with them. So, I might pull this fic back and continue, but I just felt that this would be a good ending. I know some of you guys hate it lol, I mean, I can please everyone. But yeah, this is it.

Please check out my new Twilight fanfiction, and trust me when I say, it's 80% better than this one lol. Well, this one was a really good concept, and I feel it can go far, but unfortunately, I was too inexperienced when I started it, which resulted in grammar issues and more.

Feel free to support my PT. I really appreciate your patience with the slow uploads and stuff.

And again, in the name of all which is holy, stay blessed.
