Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Surpassing the Current Limits

As the Marines and Koa Pirates continued facing each other, every member of the Koa Pirates had a natural enemy. Greenbull off against Borsalino, Kuzan faced off against Akainu, Bogard against Joichiro and Enel, and Jhin with Urf handled the rest of the Marines.

Except for Koa and Kuzan, almost everyone in the Koa Pirates was mismatched against their opponents, but there was nothing they could do to avoid it. All of them had their pride and would not allow themselves to be carried by Koa alone. Despite having their match-ups, Kuzan and Greenbull managed to reduce the number of Marines, lightening the load for Urf and Jhin.

Now, Sakazuki, surrounded by frozen comrades, attacked with all his might toward Kuzan—something that Kuzan matched with great intensity.

"DARK HOUND!" Sakazuki roared as he summoned multiple lava constructs and punched toward Kuzan with a force similar to an exploding volcano, his fists covered in Armament Haki.

"ICE PHEASANT," Kuzan fired back, kicking toward Sakazuki and creating a giant bird construct that collided with the lava. Both of them clashed at full power, with their natural elemental animosity fueling the intensity.

Kuzan and Sakazuki then clashed fists, their Logia powers meeting in a head-on battle. In this first collision, it became apparent that Kuzan was the stronger one. His Armament Haki was more refined, thanks to Koa's intense sparring, and his Observation Haki was far superior, which further solidified his advantage.

Sakazuki punched toward Kuzan's stomach, but Kuzan saw it and turned that part of his body into ice, making sure Sakazuki couldn't land a hit. He then countered with his right fist, slamming it into Sakazuki's head with full strength. The blow disoriented Sakazuki, and Kuzan followed up with an ice sword covered in Haki. Despite being staggered, Sakazuki managed to tilt his head just enough that the blade only sliced his cheek rather than decapitating him.

Sakazuki retaliated with another punch, but it was blocked by a wall of ice Kuzan had formed just in time. Kuzan then froze Sakazuki's arm completely and severed it. Sakazuki jumped back, his right arm now cut off, but quickly summoned lava and formed another arm.

The two continued their fight without pause.

Meanwhile, Borsalino was seen fighting against a giant construct of the Woodenman, which was covered in Armament Haki. It was attempting to strike Borsalino, who was also harassing Greenbull; both of them were engaged in a battle of Devil Fruit abilities.

"Yasakani no Magatama!" Borsalino shouted as he bombarded Greenbull with a storm of light bullets.

Greenbull created a giant shield around his form, made from the strongest wood he could summon, and coated it with Armament Haki. He also summoned a massive thorned whip and hurled it toward Borsalino. Although Borsalino dodged, Greenbull followed up by releasing several giant thorned cacti, which began launching spikes at him. Their intense exchange began as Greenbull was able to extend his Armament Haki through the plants he summoned.

Aside from the titanic clash between Garp and Koa, the most intense battle on the battlefield was undoubtedly the one between Bogard and the duo of Enel and Joichiro.

Bogard, the stoic adjutant of Garp, was far from an ordinary Marine. A veteran of countless wars and hunts, he had once held off legends like Silvers Rayleigh, buying Garp enough time to take on Gol D. Roger. Though not on the same level as the true monsters of the sea, Bogard had always been the blade that silently cut through the chaos, deadly, precise, and unrelenting.

Now, facing him was Joichiro, who had fully transformed into his Titanoboa hybrid form, wielding a massive cleaver infused with Armament Haki. His movements were fluid, serpentine, and increasingly faster with every strike, as he tried to build the momentum needed to break Bogard's defense.

But Bogard was a fortress.

With his trench coat swaying and his rapier-like saber glinting with dark haki, he deflected every blow with clinical efficiency. Joichiro's attacks—wild, fast, and brutal—were intercepted mid-swing or parried in such a way that they lost all force. The skill gap was evident.

Still, Joichiro refused to back down. He knew he was outmatched, but he was also proud—and more importantly, he wasn't alone.

From above, Enel descended with a roar of thunder, his body turning to lightning as he hurled bolts down like divine punishment. The battlefield was briefly lit up like day as a massive lightning strike threatened to tear through Bogard.

But Bogard didn't flinch.

He sidestepped with lightning-fast precision, haki flaring around his blade as he lunged toward Joichiro. Enel, forced to reform, tried to strike with his golden trident, but Bogard twisted, using Joichiro's bulk as a shield before slashing upward, cutting a thin arc of blood across Enel's chest.

Two versus one—and still, Bogard was in control.

"I've fought monsters greater than you both," he said calmly, voice low and sharp as his blade. "You'll need more than lightning and fangs to take me down."

Joichiro hissed, blood trickling down his snout. Enel gritted his teeth, realizing the same thing Joichiro now understood.

With the rest of the battlefield erupting into chaos, the most earth-shaking clash remained between Koa and Garp.

Every strike they unleashed was devastating, but none collided directly. Their attacks clashed mid-air, coated in Conqueror's Haki, creating bursts of black lightning that split the sky and shattered the ground beneath them. Neither man held back. And yet, Koa was evolving.

Garp felt it. Every second, he's getting stronger… sharper, he thought, a flicker of both surprise and excitement in his hardened eyes. He's not just keeping up—he's growing.

"GALAXY GATLING!" Garp roared, fists flying in rapid succession, each punch a cannon blast infused with Armament and Supreme King Haki. The air cracked under the sheer volume of force.

Koa didn't flinch. With deadly calm, he met the barrage head-on.

"DIVINE RETRIBUTION!" he shouted, unleashing a whirlwind of slashes from his twin axes—each arc of steel clashing violently with Garp's fists, splitting the air with force equal to artillery fire. The battlefield blurred as they exchanged dozens of blows in mere seconds, caught in their world—a zone where nothing else mattered.

Then Koa leapt back, raising one axe overhead.

"Divine Retribution!" he repeated, this time as a focused energy slash. The golden wave roared toward Garp like a divine decree.

Garp met it without hesitation. "GALAXY DIVIDE!" His fist, wrapped in obsidian-black Haki and crowned with the will of a king, tore through the sky. He punched forward, and the impact created a vertical fissure through Koa's attack, splitting the energy wave in half. The shockwave exploded outward in a blinding detonation, shaking the battlefield.

But neither man hesitated.

They charged into the explosion, fists and blades raised.

Koa brought down his axe with staggering speed, only for Garp to block it cleanly with his right arm, their Haki-coated weapons screaming on contact. Koa didn't stop—he spun mid-air, using the momentum of the blocked strike to coil into a second, even stronger attack.

But Garp was already one step ahead. With a guttural roar, he slammed his palm forward, releasing a point-blank shockwave punch that halted Koa's spin cold. Then—with no pause—his left arm surged forward with another Galaxy-infused punch aimed at Koa's exposed flank.

Koa, even off-balance, reacted like a warrior born. With gritted teeth, he twisted just enough to fire off a counter-kick, his leg cloaked in Armament Haki. Their blows collided again—and this time, both were hurled backward from the force, their feet skidding trenches into the frozen sea.
