Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Yuhao Is Completely Exhausted

Zhongli Yu shook her head and gently stopped Huo Yuhao from saying anything more. Taking control of the situation, she decisively turned things around—intent on settling who was truly superior between the two of them.

As Huo Yuhao and Zhongli Yu engaged in an intense and passionate struggle, deep within Yuhao's spiritual sea, Bibi Dong didn't pause the condensation of his fourth soul ring. In fact, she deliberately accelerated the process, causing Huo Yuhao's absorption of life energy to skyrocket.

Skydream Iceworm and Electrolux had wisely distanced themselves from Bibi Dong's throne. Both could sense something unsettling in the aura of the Rakshasa God—an ominous mood that clearly indicated she wasn't to be trifled with.

With life energy pouring in like a tidal wave, Yuhao found himself overwhelmed. Even with his seemingly infinite reserves, he could barely handle Zhongli Yu's relentless "extraction."

By the time morning broke, Yuhao—sporting heavy dark circles under his eyes—finally parted ways with the reluctant Zhongli Yu.

She had undoubtedly gained the most from their fusion: not only were her injuries completely healed, but her soul power had skyrocketed to the very brink of Titled Douluo.

Amazed by Yuhao's special physique, Zhongli Yu was delighted by her explosive power boost. Still, she had to leave. After such a rapid climb in strength overnight, she needed to return to the Holy Spirit Hall and enter seclusion to stabilize her cultivation.

"Saint Son, your sister will be waiting for you to come find me," she said with a flirtatious smile, planting a soft kiss on Yuhao's lips before taking the now-ruined bedsheet with her—a sheet that held the most treasured memory of her life.

Finally rid of her, Yuhao slumped with an exhausted expression. He'd been "drained" a total of six times overnight! If not for the massive influx of life energy sustaining him, he probably wouldn't even have the strength to show up for the first day of class.

His body's compatibility with life energy ensured an endless well of vitality—but that didn't mean his physical endurance was limitless. As the old saying goes: there's no such thing as a field that can't be tilled, only an ox that collapses from exhaustion.

For the first time ever, Wu Feng and the other two girls woke up later than Yuhao. Normally, it was Yuhao who liked to sleep in—thanks to the modern values he brought from his past life. But now the tables had turned.

Though tempted by Yuhao's unique physique, Ning Tian and the others were appalled by the fact that they'd passed out completely... in a man's bed, no less.

Hastily, they checked their bodies.

Of course, Yuhao hadn't done anything improper—but that realization brought a confusing mix of relief and self-doubt. Did this mean they weren't attractive? Or... was something wrong with Yuhao?

Clearly, some things about women never change, no matter the world.

"Wait... do you think Huo Yuhao just can't... perform?" Wu Feng asked bluntly, as always.

"Hold on, where's our bedsheet?" Ning Tian—ever the observant one—was the first to notice its absence.

"Don't tell me... he did it by himself?" Nanmen Yun'er covered her mouth, her voice low and incredulous.

Unaware of the girls' wild speculation, Yuhao struggled down to the kitchen, forcing himself to cook a little something. Unfortunately, it tasted mediocre—no surprise, since Ning Tian usually brought delicious takeout. Even in his past life, Yuhao had never been a great cook.

Soon the three girls came downstairs. Seeing Yuhao sitting alone, Wu Feng hurried over.

"Yuhao! I just leveled up again!" Wu Feng's bold and straightforward nature had earned her the most benefits over the past few days. She'd reached level 27—two levels in three days, which was pretty insane.

"Mhm... help yourself to some food," Yuhao replied weakly, his vision blurred and energy sapped. He had officially entered sage mode and didn't even want to deal with this fiery girl.

"Huh?" Wu Feng immediately noticed something was wrong. She gasped, "What happened to you? You look half-dead!"

Then she seemed to realize something. "Wait... how many times did you do it by yourself last night? That's bad for your health!"

Yuhao nearly spat out his food. It hit him—Zhongli Yu had taken the bedsheet, leading to this massive misunderstanding. Me? Solve it on my own? Do I look like that kind of guy?

...Okay, maybe once or twice in his last life when he was young and dumb.

Crap, why are those memories suddenly attacking me?!

"I'll help restore your energy," Ning Tian said, activating her martial soul. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda could restore stamina and offer powerful single-target buffs. No wonder it was called the greatest support-type tool soul on the continent.

"Mm..." Yuhao mumbled weakly in response.

"Oh my god!" Ning Tian gasped as she activated her soul. Her eyes widened with disbelief.

"What is it?" Wu Feng leaned in—and her jaw dropped too.

"What are you screaming about?" Yuhao asked irritably, turning his head... only to see an exquisite, crystalline eight-layered pagoda floating above Ning Tian's palm.

"E-Eight layers..." Nanmen Yun'er murmured.

The soul power ceiling of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda was common knowledge. Aside from one legendary member of the original Shrek Seven Devils, no one had ever fully evolved this martial soul.

But Ning Tian had done it. Her pagoda wasn't a result of pills or artifacts—it evolved naturally by absorbing raw life energy! Now, even the possibility of a Nine Treasure Pagoda loomed in her future.

And she wasn't the only one: Wu Feng could feel a sliver of true dragon blood awakening in her Red Dragon Martial Soul. Nanmen Yun'er, too, felt her martial soul shifting into something more savage.

All of this in just three days—and all because of the lazy-looking boy sitting across from them.

"Yuhao, you're screwed now," said Skydream Iceworm.

"Huo Yuhao—ahhh!" Ning Tian shrieked as she threw herself into his arms, clinging tightly and squirming in excitement. The movement stirred "Second Brother Huo" back into action, despite Yuhao's body begging for rest.

"What the—are you insane?!" Yuhao hurriedly pushed her off. I can't take another round right now, seriously!

"Thank you..." Ning Tian whispered, finally realizing she'd lost control. Tears welled up in her eyes, overflowing with gratitude and joy.

"I'll make you breakfast," Nanmen Yun'er offered. She took a bite of what Yuhao had cooked... and instantly frowned. His food was definitely not up to standard.

"You can cook?" Yuhao's eyes lit up. He wrapped his arm around her slender waist. "Then from now on, you're in charge of meals, okay?"

"E-Every day?" Nanmen Yun'er blushed, burying her face in his chest.

"Of course! My Yun'er is so talented—I have to make the most of your gifts," Yuhao teased with a smile.

"Hmph! What's so special about cooking anyway?" Wu Feng scoffed, folding her arms and turning her head aside.

Yuhao rolled his eyes. With Ning Tian and Wu Feng's cooking skills, one might serve him culinary nightmares, and the other might accidentally feed him raw food.

The four of them enjoyed a lively breakfast before heading off to Shrek Academy together.

Ning Tian's villa was close to the academy, and the group consisted of top-tier young soul masters. It only took them half an hour to arrive.

The white teaching building stood with doors wide open. New students, all wearing white uniforms adorned with the green Shrek monster emblem, filed in.

Uniforms, like buildings, were color-coded by year.

By the time Yuhao and the girls rushed into the building, the bell had just rung. They quickly found Classroom Nine on the first floor and hurried in without hesitation.

The spacious classroom was already packed. Yuhao, having arrived late, could barely find an empty seat. He finally sat down with the girls taking the spots next to him.

Only then did he have time to look around. With about 100 students in the class and a thousand freshmen total, there were likely ten classes in all.

He didn't see Xie Huanyue—probably still in a coma from his Martial Soul evolution.

With the stunning beauty of the three girls, it was impossible to stay low-key. Soon, curious eyes from all corners of the room turned toward them.

Who is that guy? And why is he sitting with the three goddesses of Class Nine?
