Chapter 180 - Chapter 180: The Terrifying Third Raikage

The Black Mamba moved with extreme speed and swam to the Konoha encampment in less than ten minutes.

Why was it swimming? Hmph, it's a snake—swimming is as easy as walking!

Then, it began searching the Konoha encampment for the "gigantic" one that Gekko Chizan had mentioned.

This one's too skinny.

That one's too short.

This one... not gigantic enough!

Konoha's shinobi suddenly noticed a black snake appearing in their camp. Alarmed, they also spotted a scroll in its mouth. This felt very suspicious, so they immediately prepared to capture the snake.

But the Black Mamba was extremely slippery—no matter how hard they tried, the shinobi couldn't even touch it.

Just like that, the Black Mamba continued searching the Konoha encampment for the so-called "gigantic" one.

"What are you guys doing?"

Suddenly, a blond kid appeared before everyone—it was Namikaze Minato.

"Huh? A black snake. Tsk tsk, could it be Gekko Chizan's summoning beast?"

"And it's carrying a scroll. Yeah, definitely his."

"Hey, I'm a friend of Gekko Chizan. Hand over the intel to me."

Minato flashed a bright white smile, radiating the aura of a friendly big brother.

But the Black Mamba only glanced at him, then turned and left without a word.

Minato was dumbfounded.

What's going on? Why is the snake ignoring me?

Soon, word spread to Tsunade and the others that a large black snake carrying a scroll had entered the encampment.

Snake—and intel. Tsunade and the others instantly understood it was sent by Gekko Chizan.

They immediately rushed toward the black snake.

At this point, the snake had nowhere to run—mainly because there were too many Konoha shinobi.

They had completely surrounded it.

What they didn't know was that this was actually the Black Mamba's plan. Looking for them one by one was too much trouble.

Why not gather them all together?

Right now, it was scanning the crowd, searching for that "gigantic" presence.

"Make way."

With the arrival of Tsunade, Akimichi Torifu, and Shirakumo, the surrounding shinobi quickly parted to let them through.

"I'm Tsunade. Gekko Chizan must have sent you. Hand the intel to me."

Tsunade, towering with her presence, walked toward the Black Mamba step by step.

At that moment, the Black Mamba also moved, swimming straight toward Tsunade.

Seeing this, Tsunade smiled slightly, thinking:

Gekko Chizan, that kid's really something. He even trained a snake to be so obedient.

Way better than that bastard Orochimaru!

Just as she bent slightly, ready to retrieve the scroll from the snake's mouth—

The Black Mamba suddenly slithered right past her and headed directly for Akimichi Torifu.

Under everyone's stunned gaze, it placed the scroll in front of him.

Tsunade: ...Why?

Akimichi Torifu: Huh? Gave me the scroll? This script doesn't feel right...

But the intel was important, so Akimichi Torifu picked up the scroll anyway.

The Black Mamba saw the scroll taken and nodded its snake head in satisfaction.

Then, with a poof, it vanished into white smoke.

On the ground where it had disappeared, two large characters had been carved out: "Gigantic!"

It had drawn them with its tail.

Seeing those characters, Akimichi Torifu was confused.

Tsunade's face darkened.

Minato covered his eyes.

As a friend of Gekko Chizan, Minato knew his personality all too well.

"Tsunade-sama, actually... this intel was meant for you."

"But the snake might not have understood what he meant... you know..."

Before Minato could finish speaking, a fierce killing intent radiated from Tsunade.

She was smiling—but it was a deadly kind of smile.

Gigantic, huh? Gigantic, you say?

Good.

Chizan, you little brat... I'll remember this!

"Torifu-san, hand over the intel."

"Oh—oh, here you go."

Akimichi Torifu awkwardly passed the scroll to Tsunade, then patted his stomach. Truly, it was gigantic.

That only made Tsunade's anger burn hotter.

She forcefully suppressed the fury in her heart and opened the scroll.

She read carefully—and soon, her rage turned into surprise, and then into joy.

"Everyone! Prepare to move out!"

"Iwagakure is launching a large-scale invasion of the Land of Fields. Kumogakure's outpost has already fallen."

"This is our best chance to strike!"

Her words shocked everyone present—but soon, they all erupted with fighting spirit.

Kumogakure had put them under a lot of pressure lately.

Now, that pressure exploded all at once.

"Shirakumo, Torifu, Minato—you each lead a team and head out immediately."

"Just one order—drive Kumogakure out!"

...

At the eastern border of the Land of Fields—

Gekko Chizan soared through the sky using Transparent Release, observing the battle below.

"Chizan, this Third Raikage is terrifying. I don't think I'd stand a chance even if I fought him directly."

"Whether it's speed or defense, he's just too strong. He's basically a humanoid Tailed Beast."

Chōmei felt like his worldview was being shattered. The man before him was that strong.

Wreathed in lightning, every punch and kick he threw took the life of an Iwagakure shinobi.

"That doesn't sound right, Chōmei. Weren't you subdued by the First Hokage back then? Are you saying this guy is even stronger than Senju Hashirama?"

Gekko Chizan teased him.

Chōmei rolled his eyes and said helplessly:

"That was real subjugation, okay? Can you believe that I was just chilling in the wind, and suddenly this massive wooden golem and a bunch of huge wooden snakes charged at me?"

"I was just about to fight back when a bunch of giant wooden stakes fell from the sky and smashed me senseless."

"Only later did I find out that the one who subdued me was Senju Hashirama. You call that just 'strong'? He was monstrous."

"Even the Nine-Tails is just a big toy in front of him, let alone a little bug like me."

"This Raikage might be powerful, but he still can't beat me. At best, we're evenly matched—after all, I can fly."

"But if I were facing Senju Hashirama? Fly? Are you kidding me? You think his giant wooden attacks are just for show?"

Gekko Chizan burst out laughing.

That was the First Hokage—someone who could casually suppress an entire era. Other than Uchiha Madara, who could rival him?

Even in the original story, that guy's combat power easily ranked in the top five.

"But I have to say, this kind of close-quarters, brutal combat is really exciting to watch."

"And did you notice, Chōmei? This guy's stamina and chakra barely seem affected. He's been fighting for hours already."

"He's still full of energy."

Chōmei nodded—that's exactly why he'd said this guy's defense was outrageous.

"His Lightning Release Armor can deflect most attacks, and he can use his speed to dodge powerful ninjutsu."

"Chizan, even you probably can't beat him right now."

That wasn't wrong. Even if Gekko Chizan went into Tailed Beast Mode, he might not be able to defeat the Third Raikage.

"The strongest spear and the strongest shield... someone like this—maybe it's better if he dies here."

"He can't be allowed to reach the Land of Grass."
