Chapter 361 - Chapter 361: Black Zetsu’s Plan

Tsunade grabbed Gekko Chizan in one swift motion.

Even though his legs were practically smoking from the strain, he still hadn't managed to run away before she caught him.

Just as he was about to use the Flying Thunder God to escape the scene, he heard Tsunade's voice.

"Gekko Chizan, you're a hero.

Although the plan wasn't perfectly executed, based on the message Katsuyu passed to me, at least two-thirds of their poison bees have been wiped out."

"This is good news for us!"

"Maybe Iwagakure won't even be able to launch an attack tomorrow."

"No way, I'm going to have a drink!"

Tsunade was in high spirits. In her eyes, tonight's operation was undoubtedly a success.

Releasing Gekko Chizan, she happily walked back toward the camp.

Whether she'd actually get to drink was another story.

Left standing alone, Gekko Chizan could only shake his head helplessly.

"Chizan, this battlefield in the Land of Grass is not a good place to stick around. We've got absolutely no way to deal with Four Tails and Five Tails."

"How about we just bail?"

Chōmei's fear of battle erupted again.

That was Son Gokū and Kokuō they were talking about—he'd have a hard time fighting even one of them, let alone both.

Right now, he felt like he and Chizan should just run, find Yugito, and bring Matatabi along. Two versus two!

That would be fair!

As for why not Nine-Tails… don't be ridiculous. How could he order around that stinky fox?

"Tch, like I don't know what you're thinking?"

"Even if we drag Matatabi here, you think things will get better? Stop dreaming."

"Besides, Tsunade and a whole bunch of people are here. I'm not scared—why are you?"

Chizan spat on Chōmei's face, then started thinking about how he could stay active on the battlefield for as long as possible.

And right at that moment, the system notification he'd been waiting for finally arrived.

[Ding! Detected host launching a nighttime surprise attack on Iwagakure's camp with Tsunade, using inhumane suicide bombing methods to inflict significant casualties. Among them, the Kamizuru clan's poison bees suffered the most devastating loss. Special reward: 10,000 Explosive Tags!]

Gekko Chizan: …I'm seriously done with this damn Number Six system.

"Hey, you shameless system, what's your problem? Last time you gave me a tiny bit of money, and now you're just handing me Explosive Tags?"

"I work this hard to make things happen, and this is how you treat me?"

[Ding! Host, don't waste your little schemes on me. Though the plan was yours, the outcome wasn't exactly impressive.]

[And you exposed yourself. Tsk tsk… Host, honestly, your performance lately has been kind of weak.]

Damn it. Getting roasted by the system like this was seriously pissing Chizan off.

Like he wanted it this way? He didn't!

The village had been busy with endless matters recently, and he hadn't been able to think up any crazy new tricks in peace.

He sighed as he stared at his long-stagnant status panel.

Poor guy. It's been ages since his stats improved.

Sigh...

He walked toward the encampment helplessly.

Because of Tsunade's early report, everyone there was in a cheerful mood.

When they saw him return, they immediately rushed up to greet him.

Gekko Chizan, however, wasn't in the mood.

He planned to go soak in a hot spring.

The Flying Thunder God Technique really couldn't be more convenient.

Though it did have a prerequisite—he needed enough chakra to use it freely.

Now that Chizan was one of the "Twin Stars" of the village and had even shown off Sage Mode, he wasn't worried at all.

"Chizan, come on, let's celebrate!"

"You're the hero tonight!"

Uchiha Hachiyo was a genuinely nice guy—none of that usual Uchiha "keep your distance" vibe.

He was one of the few Uchiha Chizan didn't dislike.

"Huh? No thanks."

"I'm planning to rest."

"You guys go ahead."

Turning down the invitation, Gekko Chizan teleported away from the camp in an instant.

For him, the best hot spring wasn't in the Land of Hot Water anymore. It was in the Land of Snow.

Why? Because snowflakes falling from the sky while soaking in hot water and drinking sake—that was pure bliss.

"Chōmei, who do you think that Uchiha guy really is?"

"How would I know? But his dōjutsu sure was interesting."

Chizan sipped his drink and relaxed in the steaming spring, his mind wandering back to that utterly different Uchiha "Madara."

A dōjutsu that could freely alter distances… If he didn't have the Flying Thunder God Technique, he would've been completely helpless.

Being able to warp distance wherever one could see—this was just absurd.

"Next time we meet, I'll definitely figure out who he is. How can I even fight someone if I don't know their identity?"

"Drink, drink!"

Originally, Chizan had planned to return home, but when he checked the time—tsk, it was already well past midnight.

He gave up on the idea.

...

At the same time, in Amegakure, inside a certain room—

"Send Three-Tails to the battlefield?"

"Are you serious?"

Uchiha Makito stared at Black Zetsu with surprise.

Black Zetsu had mentioned this plan a long time ago, but Makito had never taken it seriously.

To him, controlling Amegakure was the top priority.

Everything else was secondary.

"Using Three-Tails to provoke Nagato is the best way. But right now, we need another push."

"If this works, Nagato will become the sharpest blade in our hands."

Makito curled his lips.

He honestly didn't get why all these complicated schemes were necessary.

That Nagato was like a stubborn rock. If it weren't for those Rinnegan eyes, he would've just dug them out already.

"What do you need me to do?"

"Hehehe, at least you're being cooperative."

"Cut the crap. You've been scheming around me day and night. Like I wouldn't notice?"

Black Zetsu and White Zetsu both laughed.

Uchiha Makito might not have been the sharpest strategist, but he had one advantage—he listened.

His temper was rough, sure, but he usually accepted their suggestions without much fuss.

"I need you to capture one of those old Amegakure people..."

"Make him the Three-Tails Jinchūriki—and then let him die at the hands of Konoha shinobi!"
