Pokémon: Lapras
Gender: Male
Level: 66
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Shy
Potential: Flawless
Exclusive Ability: Icy Bloodline
Egg Moves: None
Moves: Sheer Cold, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam...
Ace looked at Lapras's exclusive ability, momentarily unable to understand what direction Icy Bloodline developed in. He tapped on it to check the details.
"Icy Bloodline:Lapras's resistance to Ice-type attacks is at its peak; all Ice-type moves are ineffective against it. It can nurture the power of extreme cold within its body, enhancing its mastery of Ice-type moves as it grows. Currently, Ice-type moves deal 20% more damage and have a 50% higher chance of freezing!"
After reading the description, Ace immediately understood that Lapras had awakened a purely passive ability, unlike Crobat's, which had both passive and active effects. Icy Bloodline was a scalable passive, and as Lapras continued to develop it, it would provide a significant boost to all its Ice-type moves, raising Lapras's potential to an extremely high level.
Ace stroked Lapras's head, happier than anyone that it hadn't fallen behind. This was like a master swordsman whose beloved blade was no longer sharp enough to fight alongside him. While he could always replace it with a new, sharper one, he had spent too long honing his skills with the old blade, and it would always feel more natural to use. A new blade would require extensive training to reach the same level of comfort and efficiency, which would be very time-consuming.
Now that his old blade had been sharpened and reforged, Ace, the "master swordsman," naturally preferred to use his "old blade," Lapras!
With Lapras's issue resolved, Ace arranged a series of specialized training guides for it, enough to keep it busy for a long time.
As time passed, the new villa commissioned from the System was successfully built. Ace looked at the modern-style house in front of him and nodded in satisfaction.
The villa wasn't a traditional square design but was built in a circular shape, giving it an exceptionally grand and imposing appearance. Any fellow transmigrators would find the building very familiar. This was because Ace had specifically chosen it from the System Store—it was a replica of Iron Man's villa.
Ace made some adjustments to the details. Since the house wasn't built on a cliffside, he converted the downward-extending portion into a basement and moved the third-floor laboratory to the underground level.
"The house is all set. Now, it's up to you, Rotom." Ace took out the Poké Ball containing Rotom that he won in the first competition. During his time waiting for Shaymin in the Flower Garden, Ace had become very familiar with Rotom, and Rotom had quickly accepted the fact that Ace was its trainer.
The Poké Ball opened, and Rotom flew out. It circled Ace a few times before stopping. Looking at the magnificent building, Rotom seemed very pleased. It immediately crashed into the house, seamlessly merging with the structure.
Ace waited for three or four minutes. Then, the front door opened, and it was clear that Rotom had taken complete control of the entire building.
"Let's go inside and take a look." Ace said to his Pokémon, walking toward the villa.
"Welcome home, Trainer."
Just as he stepped inside, a synthesized voice greeted him. The entryway lights came on, and as Ace and his Pokémon passed, they automatically turned off.
Ace first took in the spacious living room and its minimalist decor. He nodded in satisfaction. "Rotom, how many of the existing functions have you mastered?"
"I have mastered 50% and am continuing to master more." Rotom's voice sounded excited as it said, "Trainer, what function would you like me to activate?"
"Take me to the lab first." Ace instructed. A hidden door in the living room opened. Ace walked inside.
He turned back to his Pokémon and found that they were all standing still, none of them daring to move.
"You guys can do whatever you want. Garchomp, don't wreck the place, got it?"
Ace rolled his eyes. After leaving the warning, the hidden door closed. An elevator quickly carried Ace down to the underground lab.
Ace stepped out of the elevator and nodded again, satisfied with the lab's much larger size.
The lights came on. Ace walked over to the fossil revival machine and checked on Genesect's condition. He then asked Rotom to demonstrate the lab's functions. Rotom immediately began to show off the lab's current capabilities, one by one.
Ace watched the demonstration, a smile on his face. This was arguably the best ten thousand gold coins he had ever spent. With this lab, Ace could conduct any research he wanted without having to rely on crude equipment or the help of Chansey and Gengar; he could just let Rotom and the machinery handle it.
After replenishing the nutrient fluid for Genesect, Ace left the lab. He didn't take the elevator but walked up a staircase on the other side, which led to a study on the first floor. He closed the door, which was disguised as a bookshelf. After confirming all the books were still there, he let out a sigh of relief.
Leaving the study, Ace toured the other rooms. When he returned to the living room, he found two mechanical arms extending from the ceiling, holding Garchomp and Crobat one in each hand.
Garchomp, seeing Ace, immediately looked away, pretending to admire the view outside the window. Crobat gave an embarrassed look, its gaze instinctively shifting to the sofa nearby.
Ace walked to the sofa and crouched down to examine the metal legs. There were two distinct sets of teeth marks on them.
Ace stood up and gave Garchomp and Crobat a stern look. The two troublemakers immediately began to explain, their eyes full of a desire to please.
Their message could be roughly translated as: 'Master, you have to believe us! The sofa started it!'
"Rotom, throw them out. If you find them trying to break the building again, deal with them directly. No need to notify me. Understood?"
"Understood." Rotom immediately responded. A multitude of mechanical arms extended from the ceiling, one after another, and unceremoniously threw Garchomp and Crobat out the window. The window then slammed shut with a snap.
The two Pokémon, left stunned outside, quickly shifted their focus to the Pokémon training equipment in the yard. Their interest had now completely moved to the equipment.
