"Poké Ball modification, Experiment 211, Test 35, officially commencing."
Ace spoke to the camera, and then began the experiment at his workbench.
A week had passed since he was thrashed by Rayquaza.
After getting familiar with Rayquaza's body parts, Ace had carefully preserved a piece of its muscle tissue in the refrigerator. He planned to give himself a good feast once the experiment was done, all while getting his revenge for the beating he took.
"Rotom, the centrifuge."
"Roger."
The lab table quickly shifted, and a series of devices rose from below.
Ace took out a large amount of berries, mixed them in specific proportions, and began to extract the energy from the pulp.
As he put the energy-rich liquid into the centrifuge for separation, Ace started to process the Apricorn.
He chose the black Apricorn he was most familiar with and tossed it up. A mechanical arm quickly extended to grip it, and then a flamethrower came out, starting to scorch the Apricorn.
The mechanical arm rotated at a steady speed to ensure the Apricorn was heated evenly. Ace stood by, observing silently, and watching the temperature change on the virtual screen projected onto the table.
When the temperature of the fruit's surface reached 300 degrees, Ace took out the separated test tube.
Looking at the clearly layered liquid, he began to filter it, drawing the resulting juice into a syringe. He then took out some ground dragon scales and mixed them with dragon blood and the berry energy juice.
Once a gray substance had formed in the vessel, the mechanical arm picked it up and smeared it onto the surface of the Apricorn, which had now been heated to 400 degrees.
During this time, Ace drew another portion of the processed berry energy juice into a syringe and walked to the glowing Apricorn. The metal needle pierced the inside of the fruit with some difficulty, injecting the energy juice.
As the needle was withdrawn, the gray substance instantly filled the needle hole and, through it, began a miraculous reaction with the energy juice inside the Apricorn.
"Continue heating."
As Ace's words fell, the flames erupted again, relentlessly scorching the Apricorn.
The gray substance began to help the Apricorn resist the high temperature and the changes it caused started to build pressure inside.
Thud!
A muffled sound. This didn't mean the Apricorn was ruined; it meant Ace's plan was a success!
After the thud, the mechanical arm trembled slightly, and the surface of the Apricorn it held shattered, revealing a metallic-like sphere inside!
"Cooling!"
The next moment, liquid nitrogen sprayed out, flash-freezing the sphere. This didn't damage it; instead, it made the entire sphere even more brilliant!
Click.
The sphere cracked open, splitting evenly into two hemispheres.
Ace walked over. The sphere was now only ten degrees, so Ace didn't hesitate to pick it up from the lab table.
Ding, ding.
He gently tapped the sphere with a glass rod, and a metallic sound rang out. Ace smiled. The most difficult part was complete!
Immediately after, Ace took out the materials he had prepared and began weaving a capture net using Rayquaza's body tissue.
He then placed the net inside the sphere, soldered the metal, and installed the switch. Soon, a special Poké Ball, half-green and half-white with a dragon-scale pattern, was complete.
"Hidden Quest (Poké Ball Master) has been completed. Quest Rating: S. Quest Rewards: 200,000 gold coins, Poké Ball Creation Compendium, 50 quest points."
"The gift pack has been stored for you and can be claimed at any time."
"Congratulations, Host, on creating a custom Poké Ball. Please name the Poké Ball."
"Dragon-Marked Ball."
Ace said casually, the name inspired by the dragon-scale pattern on the sphere.
"Dragon-Marked Ball has been named and added to the System Store."
"Dragon-Marked Ball: A high-quality masterpiece that combines biology and materials through superb craftsmanship, belonging to Rayquaza's custom Poké Ball. 100% capture rate for Rayquaza, quickly nurtures Rayquaza's depleted stamina and energy, and increases Friendship gain by 2x. Price: 300,000 gold coins."
Looking at the eye-watering price of 300,000 gold coins, Ace clicked his tongue, his heart clenching.
300,000 gold coins = one Rayquaza!
Ace tossed the Dragon-Marked Ball in his hand, feeling a sense of immense weight.
He took a thick book from his pocket and opened it. It was densely filled with a vast amount of knowledge about Poké Balls and their creation methods.
Ace was instantly engrossed. A flood of inspiration poured out.
He temporarily set aside what he was doing and returned to his study with the book, hungrily beginning to devour the Poké Ball Creation Compendium.
And based on some of the records in the book, Ace quickly determined his future path to wealth.
It was the mass production of Poké Balls!
You must know that current Trainers only have the most basic Poké Balls. Even Gym Leaders are only equipped with Great Balls provided by the League.
As for the big market for Ultra Balls, no one had even touched it yet!
As long as Ace could produce Ultra Balls, he would be able to control the high-end market for average Trainers!
But that was for later. For now, Ace had to replace all the Poké Balls for his current Pokémon with custom ones!
But before that, he needed to treat himself to some pan-fried Rayquaza to recuperate.
A week later, Ace risked another brutal beating from Rayquaza and transferred it into the Dragon-Marked Ball.
With this, all of Ace's main Pokémon now had their own custom Poké Balls!
Toxic Ball (Crobat): Poison- and corrosion-resistant, with an auto-absorption effect that vacuums up all toxins within a one-meter radius.
Life Ball (Victreebel): Highly durable. When Victreebel is recalled, it can greatly stimulate the growth of its branches.
Arctic Ball (Lapras): Extremely resistant to cold.
Phantom Ball (Gengar): Has the effect of absorbing soul fragments and is highly concealed.
Gravity Ball (Blissey, Metagross): An extremely strong outer shell that would take Blissey at least three punches to break. It has a three-times gravity boost built-in.
Torrent Ball (Blastoise): Highly durable, unaffected by underwater environments, and can nourish Water-type Pokémon.
Swift Ball (Aerodactyl): Activates a rotating acceleration device when thrown, increasing Aerodactyl's initial flight speed.
Heat-Resistant Ball (Ninetales, Combusken): Highly heat-resistant.
Dragon-Marked Ball (Gible, Rayquaza): Infused with Dragon-type energy, it can sustain high-intensity Dragon-type energy consumption for two minutes.
Desert Ball (Tyranitar): Sand Stream ability buff that lasts for an additional ten minutes.
Psychic Ball (Gardevoir, Mewtwo): Also known as the "Life-Saving Ball." It allows Gardevoir to see what's happening outside and, in the instant Ace is harmed, cast a psychic barrier for protection!
