"Groudon and Kyogre, is it?"
Just as the Chairman was feeling somewhat desperate, Ace suddenly spoke, "I did read in some ancient texts that the two Pokémon created the land and the sea. However, wasn't it also mentioned in those ancient texts that Rayquaza could suppress their battle?"
"Rayquaza..."
The Chairman shook his head and said, "We don't know its whereabouts. Expecting Rayquaza to resolve this crisis is somewhat unrealistic."
As he spoke, the Chairman had already given the order: all Gym Leaders were to convene and begin blocking the movements of Groudon and Kyogre, respectively.
At the same time, the elderly couple from Mt. Pyre, with the help of two Chimecho, arrived aboard the airship and informed them of the enemies' location.
"The Cave of Origin..."
The Chairman was dumbfounded. Of all the things happening now, could there not be one that gave him a moment's peace?
"Chairman, you don't need to worry about the enemy in the ocean."
Ace stood up at this moment and said to the Chairman, "The most important thing right now is to stop Groudon and Kyogre from meeting. Even if we can't stop them, we must minimize the collateral damage from their battle."
"You are right."
The Chairman pondered for a moment and nodded.
"As for the matter of Rayquaza."
Ace looked at the Chairman and said, "Leave it to me. The two of us will be responsible for finding Rayquaza. As for the task of suppressing Groudon and Kyogre, that can only be left to you for now."
"You can find Rayquaza?"
The Chairman looked at Ace, his eyes conveying a hint of uncertainty.
"It's worth a try, isn't it?"
Ace responded, "It's better than doing absolutely nothing right now."
"Alright, I'm counting on you then."
The Chairman nodded. At this moment, every extra person meant extra strength. Even for things that were merely illusory, they had to be attempted as much as possible.
Ace and Zinnia quickly left, and with the help of Latios, they flew towards the Sky Pillar.
"Lord Ace, is it almost time?"
After the two reached the Sky Pillar and landed on the somewhat desolate column, Zinnia asked Ace.
Ace nodded. Zinnia immediately pulled two tablets out of her backpack. Once opened, the two tablets displayed Groudon and Kyogre.
Currently, the two Pokémon were being surrounded and attacked by two Gym Leaders. With the opponents' synchronized cooperation, the advance of the two Legendary Pokémon was temporarily halted.
Ace looked at the gradually agitated Groudon on the screen. His mind slowly settled, and a faint connection, spanning the distance, linked Ace and Groudon together.
On the other side, Zinnia performed the same action, successfully connecting with Kyogre.
"What's the situation?"
Ace inquired about Groudon's status.
"I've already used that device to control that idiot."
Groudon didn't hide anything. Compared to Ace, Maxie was, in Groudon's view, just an ordinary ant, and Groudon had already counter-controlled him the moment he attempted to control it.
"Very good. Next, listen to my command. Do you know Precipice Blades?"
"...Needs more practice."
"What good are you then? You haven't even mastered Precipice Blades. Block them with Stone Edge."
In the footage, Groudon looked at the Machamp and Graveler rushing toward it. It suddenly raised its arms, and a large number of sharp stones erupted from the ground, blocking the two Pokémon's attacks.
Roxanne and Brawly were visibly stunned when Groudon suddenly retaliated.
Before, Groudon hadn't shown any intention of resisting, letting them attack, only blocking their moves while clearly heading in one direction.
Groudon's sudden counterattack left the two of them momentarily unable to react.
The same thing happened with Wattson and Flannery. However, compared to Groudon's blocking, a hint of murderous intent flashed in Kyogre's eyes, and a massive Hydro Pump rapidly blasted towards the two of them.
Faced with the attack, Wattson and Flannery both fled for their lives. Only then did they truly understand how powerful the Pokémon left over from the ancient era were!
On Groudon's side, after Stone Edge blocked the two Pokémon's attacks, Groudon focused its gaze on Roxanne's Nosepass.
Nosepass was currently using Block at full power, preventing Groudon from moving forward another step.
"Deal with this meddlesome fellow first."
At this moment, Ace and Groudon were of one mind, instantly setting their target on Nosepass.
"Boom!"
Without Groudon seeming to move, a fissure instantly formed beneath its feet. It then rapidly spread toward Nosepass at an incredibly alarming speed!
"It's Fissure!"
Roxanne was a scholar with an abundant knowledge reserve of various moves.
After confirming this one-hit KO ability, Roxanne's Graveler didn't hesitate for a moment, directly stepping in front of the fissure.
"Crack!"
In an instant, a burst of energy slammed into Graveler, instantly shattering it into pieces, reducing it to a pile of rubble.
However, such an injury was not fatal for Graveler; it would be jumping around again after a month of rest.
Having blocked Groudon's Fissure, Roxanne was about to breathe a sigh of relief, when Groudon suddenly opened its mouth, and a torrent of flames erupted, aimed directly at Nosepass.
"Block it! Machamp, Close Combat!"
Brawly's Machamp rushed out. A dazzling flurry of rapid attacks managed to resist Groudon's Flamethrower. As a cost, Machamp was severely burned all over and could not continue fighting.
"Boom! Boom! Boom..."
But Groudon's attacks showed no sign of stopping. Spike after spike of Stone Edge erupted, rapidly assaulting Nosepass.
"Cradily!"
"Hariyama!"
The two trainers threw out their Poké Balls, preparing to continue stopping Groudon. But Groudon suddenly stomped the ground. A powerful Earthquake instantly swept across the area. The intense vibrations made it impossible for Roxanne and Brawly to stand, and they both collapsed onto the ground.
Just as the two struggled to get up, they noticed Groudon drilling into the ground once more.
"This is bad!"
Seeing this, Roxanne immediately looked at her Nosepass. Nosepass, having endured a direct hit from Groudon's Earthquake, had undoubtedly lost the ability to battle and collapsed on the ground.
Without the interference of the Block move, Groudon was able to continue its advance, heading toward the final battlefield.
Meanwhile, out on the ocean on the other side, Wattson and Flannery had both collapsed on the ground, having already fallen unconscious.
Kyogre roared. It ignored the two trainers, flicked its tail, and rapidly swam toward the final battlefield.
The goal of both Pokémon was clearly the Sootopolis City far out at sea!
Only there could the real show truly begin!
