As Green's voice fell, Ace looked up at the sky.
Upon looking, Ace saw two people rapidly flying toward them with the help of their Pokémon.
One of these two, as Ace had guessed, was Adék, the Unova Region Champion.
The other was an old acquaintance of Ace, Cynthia.
Seeing Cynthia riding her Garchomp, and her current attire, her image finally aligned with the one in Ace's memory.
The mature and composed Cynthia before him was no longer the clingy, star-struck girl from Ace's memories, but the bona fide Sinnoh Champion!
"It looks like the opponents are coming with murderous intent."
Adék, sitting cross-legged on the back of his Braviary, looked at the battle situation below, then glanced at the large number of Team Plasma members still rushing toward the small boat. His tone carried a hint of solemnity.
"No matter what, let's deal with them first."
Cynthia's face was calm. Garchomp dove down, bringing Cynthia with it. At the same time, Cynthia tossed a Poké Ball, and Milotic shot into the water like an arrow.
Immediately after, Milotic charged toward the Team Plasma members surrounding the small boat, raising huge waves.
The Water-type move Surf could only unleash its true power in the open sea.
Under the impact of the huge waves, the original formation of Team Plasma was scattered. Cynthia, with Garchomp's help, landed on the ice surface.
"Ace? What are you doing here?"
As soon as Cynthia landed, she saw Ace fending off Team Plasma members and couldn't help but ask.
"..."
Ace was also quite helpless. No matter how he thought about it, he never expected the so-called second Champion to be his old acquaintance, Cynthia.
His original plan was instantly overturned, and the subsequent plan to drag the Aether Foundation into this was immediately aborted.
Since they were acquaintances, Cynthia still had a vague impression of Ace's capabilities.
The more I do, the more mistakes I make.
Ace, opting for caution, could only abandon the Aether Foundation plan.
"I came here for a vacation."
Ace replied to Cynthia, then calmly said, "Let's deal with them first."
After speaking, Lapras suddenly exerted force. The first batch of Team Plasma members, who were still struggling desperately, were instantly frozen solid.
Without guidance from their Trainers, these Pokémon's abilities were greatly diminished. The first batch of Team Plasma members was completely dealt with in very little time.
However, Ace and the others were given no time to breathe. The second batch of Team Plasma members had already arrived, and the rest were catching up sequentially.
Ace and Green were responsible for the front and back of the small boat, while Cynthia and the newly arrived Adék were responsible for the left and right sides.
The increasing number of opponents gradually intensified the pressure on them.
Ace spared a moment to check the situations of the other three. As Champions, Adék and Cynthia had good skills; they were pressured by the massive number of Team Plasma members but could still cope.
On Green's side, however, the pressure was becoming unsustainable.
Facing this situation, Green gritted her teeth and brought out three Poké Balls.
Ace knew those were Green's Legendary Birds!
"Green, get out of the way!"
Ace saw this and immediately roared at Green.
Hearing Ace's voice, Green's original movement stiffened. She then saw that Blastoise, in its Mega Evolved form, was thrown by a force toward her position.
Ace, meanwhile, struck a pose and shouted, "Super Aqueous Vortex!"
Instantly, Ace felt his stamina being rapidly drained, accompanied by light injecting into Blastoise's body.
Blastoise hit the water. In a flash, a massive column of water shot into the sky. At the moment it struck down some Team Plasma members, a gigantic whirlpool formed in the sea.
The Team Plasma members, who dared not step onto the ice, fearing the same fate, instantly felt a chill in their hearts upon seeing this.
The next moment, a massive suction force hit them. The Water-type Pokémon they were riding had no way to resist this force.
They struggled desperately to escape the power of the whirlpool, yet one after another, they were sucked into the vortex.
"That move... is quite terrifying."
Adék saw the scene and clicked his tongue.
With just one move, it had virtually cleared all Team Plasma members from Green's direction.
When the whirlpool dissipated, the recovered Blastoise, breathing heavily, floated to the surface.
Seeing this, Ace recalled it.
Through this experiment, Ace learned that using Mega Evolution and a Z-Move together would forcibly revert the Pokémon from its Mega Evolved form after use.
While there was a limitation, the combined effect was undeniably at least twice as powerful as a regular Z-Move!
Looking at the Team Plasma members floating lifelessly on the water, Ace sensed that the time he could maintain the Mega Evolution of his remaining seven Pokémon had instantly shrunk by ten minutes.
"Sure enough, the burden is still too great."
Ace sighed and immediately cut the Mega Evolution connection with his Pokémon.
Ghetsis, who was monitoring the entire battlefield from afar, was shocked by the combat power Ace had just unleashed. Coupled with the arrival of the Unova Champion, Adék, he already had thoughts of retreating.
But just as Ghetsis was contemplating withdrawal, all of Ace's Pokémon reverted from their evolution.
Observing this, Ghetsis's mind instantly became active.
Based on this, the opponent must be unable to use that exaggerated move again. Otherwise, those terrifyingly powerful Pokémon wouldn't have retreated from their evolved state.
Having figured this out, Ghetsis knew the time had come!
Releasing his Hydreigon, Ghetsis leaned on his staff and stood on its back. Hydreigon carried him, accompanied by three trusted subordinates, as they flew toward the battlefield.
The battle on the field continued. Ghetsis adjusted his demeanor, and soon, a look of mournful benevolence appeared on his face. He spoke loudly from mid-air: "Please cease this meaningless battle."
As Ghetsis's words fell, the movements of the Team Plasma members also stopped.
The sudden halt of the battle on the ice caught Ace and the others off guard.
Ghetsis looked at the scene, nodding in satisfaction. He then continued, speaking in his mournful, benevolent voice: "We, Team Plasma, harbor no ill will, but seek to liberate the world's Pokémon, allowing them to live better lives. However, many do not understand. For this, we require a stronger, more perfect power to achieve this goal. That person named Ace, please return the Dragon of the Path that belongs to Team Plasma. It is the power of Team Plasma, not something a lowly scoundrel like you can covet."
Watching this scene, Ace curled his lips into a cold smile...
