"Okay, panic mode." He let out the heaviest breath he could muster when he stepped into his room, closing his door behind him. "What the heck do I do?"

Elian rubbed his right hand on his face as he walked deeper into the dimly lit space, his eyes flickering through the polished black marble floor and the red crystals embedded on the walls.
"Axel just told me he loves me." Elian blurted, his fingers shaking. "And I couldn't even say it back."
The system was so silent that Elian almost thought he could hear crickets around him.
But eventually—

"I couldn't say it back because I don't even know what I feel for Axel. Or the rest." Elian rubbed the bridge of his nose with a sigh. "I mean, I feel safe with Kyren and like I can be my true self around him... Weird system and all."
