Elian's POV
*****
[Now wasn't that one of the best battles you've seen so far?]
'Not now, system.'
[Wow. Even after I helped you seem smart in front of your mates, I'm still left aside like an annoying ex.]
For once, Elian was too drained to argue further with the system. Currently, he stood just outside Aurora's room, watching her and Lucian with a distant feeling.
She sat meekly on the edge of her bed, head lowered and fingers fiddling weakly on her lap. Whatever Amara had put her through—it was extensive. And clearly traumatic.
But now he was worried about something. Something he's never feared since his rebirth:
Losing the trust of a friend who's treated him as nothing less than a brother since his mate bond with Lucian awakened.
Even now as Lucian whispered something to her, Elian caught her occasionally, throwing weary glances his way.
