At the end of the funeral ceremony, he remained standing at a distance, leaning against a marble pillar. He watched and picked up details.
First, he saw when Estella walked into the hall. Recalling how he killed Magnus in front of her and sent her running back to Lunaria brought a small smirk to his face.
But enough nostalgia. He had one question:
Why did the Council of Fangs release her? Now and here of all places.
He heard them making excuses for her being useful in the future. It was a convenient excuse. One that still made no sense on why they brought her to a funeral crawling with people who have something against her.
"It's almost as if they're trying to test something," he mumbled to himself, all while watching the Alpha Prince and Elian confronting the council members. "Or someone."
