He opened his eyes.

His hair turned silvery-white, standing wild like a flame crown. Two ethereal horns, forged from arcane plasma, arched from his brow.
The transformation ended in a thunderous pulse that cracked the marble beneath him.
Jake dropped to one knee, panting, eyes wide with adrenaline.
