Coming out of the Headmaster's office, Jaden Yuki walked through the corridor towards his classroom.

Classes were currently in session, and the corridor was quiet.

Through the classroom windows, students could be seen in the surrounding classrooms, attending their lessons.

Jaden Yuki didn't have many fond memories of his academy life.

Although the characters from the original series had appeared in Jaden Yuki's life to varying degrees,

due to his limited interaction with them, Jaden Yuki hadn't formed any so-called "bonds" with them.

Perhaps, this was his true self.

A lone wolf, aloof and indifferent.

Leaving without any ties or goodbyes.

Jaden Yuki smiled.

"After the tournament, should I continue studying in the Duel Academy's Advanced Division...?"

"Jaden, someone's dueling outside."

As he was thinking,

Yubel's voice rang in Jaden Yuki's ears.

Beside him, Yubel's figure slowly materialized.

She crossed her arms and looked out at the playground through the window.

Jaden Yuki followed her gaze.

He found a boy on the playground, whose black attire and hairstyle were almost identical to his own, dueling a girl in a blue school uniform.

"That person must be from the 'Underworld Duel Club,' right? To dress exactly like you, what terrible taste..."

Yubel remarked with a venomous tongue.

"..." Jaden Yuki shot Yubel a sideways glance, pursed his lips, but said nothing.

It seemed to be because they had spent so much time together.

The current Yubel, though not as yandere and insane as in the original series,

had developed a poisonous tongue and a habit of complaining.

"Hmph... even with terrible taste, it's better than yours."

Jaden Yuki retorted unceremoniously.

"You..."

Yubel gritted her teeth and glared at Jaden Yuki.

The two fell silent in unison, looking towards the playground.

"I Summon 'Elemental HERO Avian' in Defense Position!"

"I set three cards, and end my turn!"

The boy, who looked eighty percent like Jaden, smiled as he ended his first turn.

"Oh? A set monster and three set cards on the first turn, forming a T-shaped formation? Very much your style, Jaden."

Yubel chuckled.

"Hmph, I stopped playing like that six years ago," Jaden Yuki said coldly, crossing his arms.

"Really? Weren't you just playing like that a while ago?"

Yubel gazed into the distance, and seeing the boy activate his set card, "Bottomless Trap Hole," she couldn't help but sneer, "It seems that kid imitates you very well."

"..."

Jaden Yuki silently watched the boy, a name vaguely appearing in his mind.

"I seem to remember..."

Jaden Yuki recalled something.

In the original series, there was indeed such a person.

Proficient in imitating others' appearances, dueling styles, and deck configurations.

That person even stole Yugi Muto's deck at the Duel Academy and had a two-episode long duel with Jaden Yuki.

"Kagurazaka."

Jaden Yuki muttered softly.

"However, I remember he first appeared as an Obelisk Blue student."

"Logically, he should have been an external applicant who tested into the Advanced Division..."

"It seems the world line isn't entirely set in stone..."

Jaden Yuki chuckled.

"What? You seem happy." Seeing Jaden Yuki's smile, Yubel also showed a slight smile on her face.

"Yes, even if it's just a little, I at least changed some of the world, didn't I?"

Jaden Yuki smiled and turned to leave.

"Change the world..." Yubel fell silent.

Jaden, he had such thoughts?

...

Back in the classroom.

Under the astonished gazes of the lecturer and the entire class, Jaden Yuki reported his presence.

"Report, sorry, I was delayed by something."

Jaden Yuki straightened up and said to the teacher.

"Uh... you're Jaden, right? Quick, hurry back to your seat, class has already started." The lecturer wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, seemingly having never expected Jaden Yuki to attend his class.

Since the beginning of the semester, this was the first time he'd seen Jaden Yuki.

Jaden Yuki actually came to my class, my youth is over, sniff sniff...

Jaden Yuki returned to his seat. After sitting down, he could still feel many surprised glances on him.

"That's incredible, wasn't that Jaden Yuki skipping class? Why is he back?" Junko looked at Jaden Yuki in astonishment, unable to resist complaining to Momoe next to her.

"Yeah, it's like the sun rose from the west..." Momoe murmured, glancing at Alexis Rhodes, who was listening attentively behind her, "Alexis, aren't you curious at all?"

"What's there to be curious about... maybe he didn't come back for class?" Alexis Rhodes said with a wry smile.

Sure enough, not long after sitting down, Jaden Yuki took out his deck and began constructing it on his desk.

"Eh~ Alexis knows him quite well." Momoe said in surprise, "It seems all that time secretly observing Jaden Yuki wasn't wasted."

"You..."

Alexis Rhodes froze for a moment, then glared at Momoe, slightly annoyed.

After all,

he was also someone who had defeated her...

Initially, she only intended to observe him to find weaknesses in his dueling.

But over time, Alexis Rhodes had also come to know some of Jaden Yuki's habits.

However,

Alexis Rhodes still firmly believed that she and he were merely ordinary classmates.

Hmm... the kind who barely spoke once a month.
