Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

That box of gold, silver, and jewels, Sophia put it in the car and locked it.

She hired four village aunties. After Sophia finished feeding the pigs, the aunties almost finished cleaning the house.

They cleaned out a pile of junk like baskets, wooden buckets, and shovels, all piled in one room.

Sophia picked a shovel. The aunties kept the other things instead of throwing them away.

If Sophia was not in a hurry to buy beds and prepare for Amelia, she would have told the aunties to clean the other rooms too.

After paying each auntie two hundred, Sophia went out to buy beds.

She bought the best quality furniture in the store. Her own bedroom bed was not this nice. No one expected she suddenly got a little rich.

That box of gold and jewels, even Sophia, not an expert, could guess it was worth at least a million.

Sophia spent a lot buying beds, mattresses, four-piece bedding sets, dressing tables, wardrobes, and more. She spent tens of thousands in one trip. She even bought pajamas for Amelia.

After buying everything, she got ready to go home.

The car started, then she turned and went back to the pig farm.

She bought ten piglets at once. The pig farm owner gave her a lot of grain for free.

They agreed to deliver the piglets to her home in the afternoon. Then Sophia went to the farmer's market.

Last time at the market, she already knew which stall had better prices.

Sophia went straight to the stall where she bought vegetables last time.

"Already finished the potatoes and sweet potatoes from a few days ago?" The owner, wearing a white vest with many holes, came over and asked, confused.

Sophia did not expect the owner remembered her after one visit.

"I have more pigs now. Boss, I want 3,000 jin of sweet potatoes and 3,000 jin of potatoes. Do you have that much?"

Wholesale prices were cheap, about 0.7 to 0.8 yuan per jin.

But 3,000 jin of sweet potatoes and potatoes were heavy. Maybe not enough to fill a whole truck.

The owner put down his bowl. "Miss, you really want three thousand? Of course, I have that much. If you want, I will take you to the warehouse to check."

Sophia quickly ordered more vegetables. "Cabbage and radishes, 3,000 jin each too."

That was several tons of vegetables.

"Little sister, how many pigs are you raising? Buying so much at once, the weather here is not good. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, and white radishes store well, but cabbage is hard to keep," the owner warned, worried about returns later.

Sophia smiled and said, "I will feed the cabbage to the pigs first."

She thought, if the pig trough still gave treasures, she would have to feed them well. She might need to buy from different wholesale markets to keep it going.

Sophia did not expect the pig trough's requests would get more and more complicated later. The problem she worried about was not big.

She bought enough vegetables to feed the pigs for several days.

After paying a deposit, she agreed with the owner to deliver later so it would not cause a stir in the village.

On the way home, Sophia got a reply from Amelia.

On WeChat, Amelia screamed loudly.

"Little junior sister, you got rich!"

Amelia sent a voice message excitedly, "I have boarded the plane and brought someone with me!"

"Not talking now, we will chat when I arrive."

After that, Sophia sent messages, but Amelia did not reply.

Sophia did not know if the person Amelia brought was a man or a woman.

"Whatever, if I pick them up, I will arrange a hotel first."

Sophia put down the phone.

Back at home the bed she wanted had not arrived yet.

She first moved the pig trough into the room where the grain was stored then started putting in the feed.

She started with sweet potatoes and potatoes. She had bought a thousand jin before and they were very durable.

One sack was one hundred jin. Quickly the pig trough was piled high. In less than five minutes it looked like there was a funnel at the bottom and the feed slowly went down. Sophia kept pouring the potatoes without blinking.

Not only did the pigs like it but Sophia liked potatoes too. They were delicious even dipped in soy sauce.

Having gained more than a hundred thousand for free Sophia was not greedy. Even if she invested one hundred thousand getting fifty thousand as hard-earned fees was still okay.

She kept pouring. Two thousand jin of sweet potatoes and potatoes took almost an hour.

Just after finishing the furniture store delivered.

The bed frame the memory foam mattress the wardrobe the dressing table all were carried inside one by one.

Big brother can you help install the curtains Sophia asked standing nearby watching them finish moving in handing each one a bottle of water.

Sister don't worry our boss told us to take care of that said the big brother who was short and tanned. He smiled broadly and drank his water in big gulps.

This house was a bit old and dusty. There was no time to paint so they could only hang curtains to cover the walls.

After installing it really looked much better. They also laid down a carpet on the floor.

When done Sophia saw them out. Among the four one man was looking around curiously.

Dongzi what are you looking at Hurry up we have to deliver to the next place the driver slapped that man's hand calling out.

Alright alright coming the man replied.

Sophia smiled sending them to the door. She watched the car drive away then locked the door.

She planned the time to pick someone up fed the pigs then went to take a bath before going out.

Just as she was about to go in the doorbell rang again.

She opened the door. Outside was a small truck with cages holding about ten piglets. Sophia suddenly remembered she had also bought ten piglets.

Are you Miss Sophia the driver asked leaning out the window.

Sophia quickly replied yes.

The big man helped carry the ten piglets into the pigpen.

Miss Sophia the pigs are still small now Your pigpen can hold them for now but after a few months this pen might not be enough for so many pigs the man advised sharing his experience.

Sophia smiled Our village has a lot of space I am not worried about where to raise pigs.

Sophia's home was near the foot of the mountain quite remote and no one fought over the land.

Also her parents had left her several acres of land though it was not worth much.

Sophia paid the balance to the big man and sent him away.

These ten pigs came from outside probably tired from the journey. Sophia separated them from the original five pigs at home.

Then she went to cook pig feed. With more than ten pigs they needed to be fed at least twice a day.

Sophia was already very tired. General Ulric and the others were making prayers to the gods asking for a blessing of food.

Who knew All that was wished for was granted.

Sweet potatoes and red potatoes kept pouring down like a rain of food.
