Chapter 91 - Chapter 90

"My god!"

Local Official Cai looked at the strange metal objects in front of him. He didn't know what they were used for. But iron tools were rare in Zhao Kingdom, and the government controlled them strictly. So when he saw these things, he felt shocked and confused.

Official Yong glanced at General Yves, then started to explain things to Local Official Cai.

Since the general had brought him here, it was clear they didn't plan to keep anything from him.

"These are gifts from the Divine One. They are for farming. One of these machines can do the work of a hundred people."

Official Yong pulled Local Official Cai to the side and explained more.

Local Official Cai frowned and said, "That's impressive, but there's a serious drought right now. We don't even have water. Even if we have these machines, we can't grow anything."

Official Yong said, "The Divine One also gave us seeds that can survive without much water."

After hearing that, Local Official Cai looked surprised but also a little doubtful.

"If the general says so, then it must be true. Either way, trying is better than just waiting to die."

Official Yong patted him on the shoulder.

Local Official Cai slowly nodded. "You're right."

The two of them stood nearby, whispering to each other for a while.

"Official Yong, Local Official Cai, these machines are now in your care," said General Yves.

He also told someone to take them to the yard to collect the seeds that Sophia had sent.

After they received the task, Local Official Cai and Official Yong got started the very next morning. They called together the magistrates from all the counties and gave them clear instructions.

When the people of Fucheng heard the news, everyone became excited and full of hope. Many of them cried.

The drought had lasted too long. Many of them had watched their family and neighbors die from hunger.

Now, they finally saw hope.

When General Yves and his group left, the sound of machines filled the air behind them. The machines were digging, plowing, and making different noises.

General Yves left Official Yong and a few guards there. Then he led the rest of the team further south.

This time, the officials in charge of disaster relief were sent to different places. Each of them went to a different area, carrying food and medicine that General Yves had given them.

They were using the transportation vehicles that Sophia provided. They were strong, easy to fix, and could carry a lot.

The first area they helped was just an example. Now it was time to really begin the work.

Later, General Yves would visit each place by himself. Since he now had an off-road vehicle, traveling was much easier. He could probably visit the entire kingdom in less than a month.

Sophia had sent dozens of machines and emptied out the rest of her warehouse. By the time she was done, it was already midnight.

She felt completely exhausted, like her body was about to fall apart.

But she had no choice. In the next few days, she had to focus all her energy on preparing for the exhibition.

She slept until the afternoon. The ringing phone woke her up.

It was Haiwen's assistant. She had found two companies that plan exhibitions and had set up meetings with them.

When Sophia picked up the phone, she quickly sat up. "Okay, wait a moment. I'll come to the village entrance to meet you."

After she hung up, she washed her face, brushed her teeth, changed clothes, and in ten minutes, she was riding her scooter out of the house.

The people from the planning company arrived by car. From a distance, they saw an electric scooter coming toward them and didn't pay much attention until it stopped right next to them.

"Miss Sophia?" the man sitting in the front passenger seat rolled down the window and asked carefully.

Sophia was standing under the hot sun, squinting her eyes. She replied, "I'm Sophia. Are you from the planning company?"

They quickly said yes.

"Then follow me."

Sophia led the way on her scooter.

After parking the scooter and waiting for the people from the planning company to get out of their car, she walked over to the door and saw a bag hanging on the handle.

She immediately knew it was a meal Ronin brought for her.

Ronin worked for Sophia. He got a high monthly salary and often brought her food. Ronin's family also helped Sophia with small tasks from time to time, so they took extra care of her.

They knew she lived alone and often didn't eat on time. So, they asked Ronin to bring her food when he could.

After a while, Sophia felt a bit embarrassed. She also really needed someone to help with house chores, so she started thinking about hiring a housekeeper.

In the villa's first floor, there was a wooden sofa set. She used it to receive people she wasn't very close with.

Sophia brought the people from the planning company inside and let them sit on the first floor. She gave each person a bottle of mineral water.

"Manager Yang, this is the place I plan to use to welcome guests in a few days. The exhibition is private, simple, not many people, about thirty to forty. It will be held here. The budget is within three hundred thousand."

Sophia led them to walk around the yard. Her house was about three hundred square meters, not counting the yard. With the yard included, the total area was about five to six hundred square meters.

There was a small pond in the yard, with lots of flowers and plants that were growing really well. That was mostly thanks to Ronin's parents, who helped water them.

On the east side of the yard, there was a small resting area with a round table and a few chairs. It was a good place to relax in the summer.

Manager Yang and the others looked around and quickly said, "Miss Sophia, this place would be great for afternoon tea."

The yard looked well decorated.

After looking around the yard, they went back inside to the first floor. When you entered the door, there was a sofa set on the left side. On the right side was the kitchen. Further inside was a bathroom. Besides that, there wasn't much else, and the space was still large.

They skipped the second floor. That was Sophia's private space. It had a living room, a main bedroom, a guest bedroom, and an open kitchen. It was quite spacious, but she didn't plan to use it for guests.

They went straight up to the third floor. The exhibition area was divided into two parts.

Sophia only let them look from outside. At the top of the stairs was one locked door, and another door at the entrance of the exhibition area. The displayed items inside were also locked up.

Sophia planned to ask a security company to help on the day of the event. She had already contacted Peng Jia'an from the security team.

"You'll mainly be in charge of reception. The items in the exhibition will be managed by someone else."

Manager Yang and his team had worked on many planning jobs before. Since Haiwen was the one who recommended them, Sophia trusted that they were good.

But they were surprised to see how many valuable items Sophia had.

At first, they only accepted this job because of Haiwen's request. The location sounded too far, a small village in a low-tier city. They thought they might lose money on this job.

But this visit changed their mind.

After going through everything, Manager Yang understood clearly what they needed to do.

Since Sophia didn't have enough helpers, their job would include airport pickup, transportation, meal arrangements, and lodging.
