Everything You Want to Know
The sweltering August heat swirled relentlessly off the coast northwest of Laurent in the imperial year 570. Located there was the overseas colony of Carslan, which operated through a network of underground tunnels. The narrow passages had low ceilings supported by wooden structures that constantly creaked ominously. Although protected from the blazing summer sunlight, the underground air was musty and stifling. The tunnels carved a path into the dark depths on one end, while the other held a heavily guarded door that led up to the surface. A man was sprawled on the dirt floor, listening as his radio crackled before a voice suddenly came through clearly.
“Captain, the Colonel says to prepare for the second unit’s deployment tomorrow morning,” the voice said.
“Understood. What’s the situation outside?” Captain Colin, commander of the first unit, responded.
