ACT 6, SCENE 5: TRAPPED TOGETHER (PART 2)
Andrew's eyes locked on it instantly.
In one swift stride, he closed the distance and pulled her into him. Hard.
Her small frame collided with his chest, his arm wrapping around her instinctively. Her cheek pressed into him, breath caught, eyes wide.
His heartbeat—fast. Hers? Louder.
She gasped, too stunned to speak.
His other hand gripped the sink edge so tightly it looked like he wanted to strangle it.
Sarah pulled back slowly, flustered, cheeks crimson.
"Wh-what did you just...?" she whispered-shouted.
Andrew nonchalantly adjusted his tie, then rolled his sleeves, running a hand through his hair.
He pointed toward the floor. The cockroach still crawled.
"You wanted to keep it company?"
"You could've told me!" she hissed.
"And let Sam hear me?" He smirked.
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever."
Just then—
Lian entered the room, finding Sam chilling on Sarah's bed like it was Netflix and chill.
"Samuel. The board needs you. Urgent."
Sam grinned, got up, and said aloud, "Nice trick, Andrew! I won't let you go that easy next time."
Lian led him out, but not before closing the door behind them with a faint smile.
Sarah pressed her ear to the door. Footsteps faded.
She opened it slightly, peeked, then sighed, "He's gone."
She stepped out. Andrew followed.
Sarah flopped onto the bed. "My soul left my body. We were almost caught!"
Andrew stepped forward, gently brushing his hand over her head.
"Take rest. You're still recovering. I'll be here."
He took his coat, looked at her once more, then walked out of her room.
