Boruto sat cross-legged, his eyes, for some reason, always drifting towards the man beside him.
Was this really what his old man looked like when he was young?
He looked awesome!
The samurai-ninja hybrid attire was simply too much to his liking.
Why didn't the dad in his memory have this kind of cool, carefree aura, even when he became Hokage?
Mom truly had great taste!
Sasuke, looking at the man before him, was equally stunned. Even in a parallel world, such a drastic change shouldn't have occurred.
If the Naruto in his memory had possessed this kind of flair, he definitely wouldn't have been the one to marry Sakura.
Why was it like this?
Why wasn't the Naruto in his memory this version before him?
"It seems I'm quite different from the Naruto in your memories," Naruto suddenly spoke.
Sasuke and Boruto were instantly startled. Even his intelligence was completely different.
This was insane!
"You know where we come from?" Sasuke couldn't help but ask.
He could guarantee that since their arrival, neither he nor Boruto had revealed any information about time travel.
"I've had experience traveling to parallel worlds," Naruto explained.
"We don't seem to have revealed that we're from a parallel world, have we?" Sasuke asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Naruto pointed to Boruto beside him. "Extremely similar chakra usually only appears in immediate family members."
"And in this world, my immediate family members are all gone."
"…" The two couldn't help but exchange a glance.
Did he have to be this much of a prodigy? Deducing their origins from so little information.
"Was it you who sent Shikamaru yesterday?" Sasuke's tone was one of absolute certainty. He had felt that Shikamaru's appearance was a bit off.
The heir of the Nara clan, no matter how idle, wouldn't be idle enough to come and monitor two 'performers.'
"Asking Shikamaru to make contact with you was indeed my request," Naruto nodded, not denying it.
"He said you were looking for someone."
"So you came to our door?" Sasuke only felt a chill run down his spine.
This parallel world was terrifyingly over the top!
"Aren't you afraid something might happen to Uncle Shikamaru?" Boruto asked curiously. "If you can sense my chakra, you can definitely sense Uncle Sa— Mr. Jugo's chakra too."
"No. With me around, nothing will happen to him!" Naruto smiled confidently.
Whoa!
What's with this damn charisma?!
Boruto was instantly dumbfounded.
"Can you tell me why you've appeared in this era and why you're looking for me?" Naruto asked.
"We can." Sasuke nodded slowly.
Now that they knew it was a parallel world, none of their actions would affect their future, so their plan needed to be appropriately modified.
"…" Sasuke suddenly frowned.
"What's wrong, Mr. Jugo?" Boruto couldn't help but ask when he saw this.
"I'm just hesitating where to begin. This matter involves a very long timeline," Sasuke said pensively.
"Have you had breakfast yet?" Naruto suddenly asked.
"Nope? What's up?" Boruto scratched his head.
"Shadow Clone Technique!" Naruto created a shadow clone to go buy breakfast.
"Since there's a lot to talk about, why don't we eat while we chat."
"Let's start with the progenitor of chakra, Kaguya Otsutsuki. After all, the root of all disasters was planted in that era," Sasuke said, having finished his thoughts.
"Kurama, isn't the origin of chakra the Sage of Six Paths?" Naruto's brow twitched slightly as he asked in his mental space.
"The old man founded Ninshu and distributed chakra to the world. In a sense, he is indeed the origin of chakra. But the old man's chakra also originated from the Ten-Tails," Kurama said.
"As for this Kaguya Otsutsuki he mentioned, I don't know her."
"Is that so." Naruto nodded slightly.
Sasuke continued, "The time dates back to several thousand years ago. The Sage of Six Paths, along with his younger brother Hamura Otsutsuki, sealed their mother along with the Ten-Tails on the moon…"
Oh boy, starting with a bombshell right off the bat…
Naruto's eyes flickered.
Through Sasuke's explanation, the 'hidden history' of the shinobi world slowly unfurled before him.
In ancient times, a Divine Tree suddenly appeared on this land. The people of that time did not know that the Divine Tree they worshipped was the demonic beast 'Ten-Tails' that would bring them grave calamity years later.
One day, a divine woman suddenly descended near the Divine Tree. The land at that time was ruled by a country called the Land of Ancestors.
After discovering the descended divine woman, Kaguya Otsutsuki, the people of the Land of Ancestors presented her to the prince of their country.
Very strangely, the divine woman Kaguya Otsutsuki conceived children with the prince of the Land of Ancestors.
Even more melodramatically, the daimyo of a neighboring country, upon hearing about the descent of the divine woman, launched a war against the Land of Ancestors. The daimyo of the Land of Ancestors, that very prince, under political pressure, betrayed the divine woman Kaguya.
And Kaguya Otsutsuki, in order to protect herself and her two unborn children, consumed the fruit of the Divine Tree.
Relying on the power of the Divine Tree, also known as the Ten-Tails, she established a false world of peace.
And her two sons, for some inexplicable reason, felt that their mother's actions suppressed people's will and was not true peace.
Thus, in order to liberate all humankind, they rebelled against their own mother.
After a fierce battle, the two eventually sealed their mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, along with the husk of the Ten-Tails, on the moon.
The Ten-Tails' immense energy was then sealed within the body of Kaguya Otsutsuki's eldest son—Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
To atone for his mother's sins, Hagoromo Otsutsuki decided to share chakra with the world and established Ninshu.
But the two did not know that before Kaguya Otsutsuki was sealed, she had created their third brother, a manifestation of her will.
This will-manifestation, in order to revive its mother, plagued the shinobi world for a thousand years, right up to the present.
Akatsuki's collection of Tailed Beasts to revive the Ten-Tails was his scheme.
Because the Ten-Tails was his mother—Kaguya Otsutsuki.
According to Sasuke's description, during the Fourth Great Shinobi War, he and (his world's) Naruto received help from the Sage of Six Paths, obtaining Yin Power and Yang Power.
They resealed her.
Just when everyone thought peace had finally come to the shinobi world, new Otsutsuki appeared.
It was only then that the people of the shinobi world understood why Kaguya Otsutsuki had created so many White Zetsu.
The Otsutsuki clan was an extraterrestrial race, beings who transcended death. For unknown reasons, they madly planted Divine Trees on various life-bearing planets, consuming the fruit of these trees.
According to those Otsutsuki, Kaguya Otsutsuki was a traitor; she had consumed the Chakra Fruit that was supposed to be handed over to the clan.
And their descent upon this world was to reclaim the Chakra Fruit that had not been recovered previously.
Under the valiant resistance of many powerful ninja from the future, the Otsutsuki's plans were foiled one by one.
Among them, one Otsutsuki found another way, traveling to this era through the Space-Time Treasure Tool, Karasuki.
He wanted to recollect the power of the Chakra Fruit when they were still young and lacked the ability to resist.
And Sasuke and the others, in order to stop all this, traveled back together, leading to the current situation.
