Chapter 3 - 3. Precipice Blades

As the saying goes, if I'm not embarrassed, then others will be.

"Ulti-sama is peerless!"

Daichi, along with his four companions, waved their heart-shaped flags and flower fans while continuously chanting slogans praising Ulti.

They were in excellent spirits!

This also made them the focus of the battlefield.

Even Yamato, who was in the middle of a fierce battle, was drawn by the shouts and turned her head to look at Daichi's group of five. Her eyes instantly turned into stars.

"Ohh! So cool!"

Envy!

She also wished she had a group of good friends cheering her on from behind.

Unfortunately, she didn't have a single friend.

Everyone who used to be her friend had been killed by her father, and after that, no one dared to be her friend.

The young girl's mood couldn't help but drop considerably.

In battle, big emotional changes are often deadly.

"An opening!"

Ulti seized the opportunity, swung her weapon to parry Yamato's Takeru, and then immediately transformed into a Pachycephalosaurus. Her sharp claws firmly gripped Yamato's shoulders.

Oh no!

Yamato realized something was wrong. She wanted to break free from the claws but didn't have enough strength. Seeing Haki covering the Pachycephalosaurus's forehead, she knew exactly what she was about to face.

"Ul Head Gun!"

"Armament Haki—Hardening!"

"Boom!"

The two women's foreheads collided fiercely!

"Ugh!"

Yamato's head snapped back, her eyes rolling back.

According to anime, eyes rolling back means defeat, but as an Ogre, under her father's constant harsh training, the young girl's resistance to blows had long been maximized.

Her scattered pupils quickly refocused.

"Hiss—that hurts!"

Yamato gasped in pain. Seeing Haki gather on Ulti's forehead again, she immediately tensed all her muscles.

Time to fight!

The next moment, the two women's heads collided again!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Each headbutt made them dizzy, but neither showed any intention of stopping. Instead, they headbutted more fiercely, even creating terrifying afterimages.

Until—

"Crack!"

The sound of bone cracking was clearly heard.

Yamato and Ulti stopped, keeping their headbutting position, gasping for breath. Crimson blood flowed from the point of impact.

"I broke your skull!"

"It was clearly your skull that broke first!"

The two glared at each other, clearly at their limit and wanting nothing more than to lie down, yet still taunting each other with words.

They absolutely could not lose to the other!

I'll push!

I'll push too!

Like two bulls locking horns, they desperately pushed back and forth, their horns locked together, creating tiny sparks.

The bizarre scene left the pirates stunned.

Now!

"Ulti-sama, I'm here to help you!"

Daichi roared and charged into the battlefield.

When the battle was intense just now, his involvement would have been meddling. Those with some strength are usually proud and don't like others interfering in their fights.

But now both of them were barely holding on, desperately needing an outside force to break the balance. If he stepped in now, Ulti would only be grateful to him.

Hehehe, plan successful!

As expected, when Ulti heard Daichi's voice from behind her, it was like a shot of energy. She pushed Yamato even harder, not forgetting to taunt her.

"Hahaha, you're finished, Yamato!"

"Damn it!"

Yamato felt wronged.

Ulti had subordinates, but she had none, and no one would come to help her. She could only watch helplessly as she faced defeat, completely powerless.

"I'm sorry, Yamato-sama."

Daichi sprinted behind Ulti, leaping up with a wicked grin, raising his giant door-sized sword high and aiming it at Yamato's head.

Heh heh, let me crack your skull open!

"I lost."

Yamato closed her eyes, giving up resistance.

However, she was in the middle of a struggle with Ulti. The sudden release of strength caused her to slide backward uncontrollably, pushed by Ulti.

Ulti took her place.

"Thud!"

The greatsword struck Ulti's back of the head.

"Plop!"

Ulti fell straight forward in front of Yamato, the door-sized greatsword stuck in the back of her head. She looked very peaceful in her passing.

"..."

The battlefield fell silent at that moment.

Daichi looked at the fallen Ulti, the greatsword stuck in her head, and the confused Yamato in front of him. His brain almost crashed.

Damn it, I hit the wrong person!

Why did this clumsy girl push forward at that moment!

I'm finished, finished, finished, finished—

Wait!

Let's think positively first. If Ulti withdraws from the match, doesn't that mean all the credit goes to him, and the bonus is still his?

As for hitting the wrong person...

Right, find a scapegoat!

Daichi scooped up Ulti, his face full of grief and anger as he looked at Yamato. "Yamato-sama, you actually used Ulti-sama as a shield, how despicable!"

"Ah, me?!"

Yamato was even more confused.

You clearly did it!

Also, why does this scene feel so familiar?

Hearing Daichi's accusation, the pirates who were watching, especially Ulti's fan club, finally "understood" what had just happened.

So that's what happened!

The crowd was furious.

"How despicable!"

"Ulti-sama, boohoo!"

"I almost misunderstood Daichi."

No, you didn't misunderstand.

Daichi couldn't help but complain inwardly.

Fortunately, pirates are idiots.

Life-saving plan successful!

Next...

Daichi gently put Ulti down, then pulled the bloody greatsword from the back of the young girl's head and pointed it at Yamato.

I'm sorry, Yamato-sama.

"How dare you knock out the cutest Ulti-sama in the world? Prepare yourself, I will get revenge for Ulti-sama!"

"I didn't, I didn't—"

Yamato wanted to explain, but Daichi's greatsword was already swinging down, giving her no chance to explain at all.

Damn it, this guy, like Ulti, doesn't listen to anyone!

Yamato didn't have time to think, quickly raising her Takeru to block the greatsword. The powerful force made her arm numb, and her body couldn't stop moving backward.

Normally, such an attack wouldn't even count as a warm-up for her, but now she was completely unable to defend properly.

Too tired.

Also, so hungry!

The greatsword came down like a storm, without any technique, only pure force, making her sweat heavily.

Boohoo, I really want to eat sashimi.

Slurp~~

"Clang!"

The Takeru was knocked flying by the greatsword!

Yamato staggered backward, her guard wide open.

Daichi, however, did not take the chance to attack. Instead, he spun the greatsword and forcefully drove it into the ground with both hands.

Invisible vibrations spread underground.

"What is he doing?"

Yamato sensed danger, but her current state prevented her from maintaining Observation Haki. She could only stare at Daichi.

Her hair stood on end.

"Crack—crack—!"

The young girl's ears twitched. Realizing something, she looked down in disbelief at the cracking ground.

Something was beneath!

She wanted to avoid it, but her body was stiff and unable to move.

"Precipice Blades!"

Accompanied by Daichi's roar, a sharp stone pillar, gleaming with cold light, shot up from the ground, violently piercing Yamato's backside and sending her flying into the sky!

"Waaahhh!"

The young girl's scream echoed through the back mountain.
