Elbaf, Port!
The fog ship arrived at the end of the Rainbow Bridge and landed on the sea clouds. Although they were called clouds, they had the same buoyancy as seawater, similar in nature to the sea clouds of Sky Island.
Gerd jumped ashore, then spread her arms to the people on the ship. "We've arrived! Welcome to Elbaf!"
"Oh, oh, oh, how magnificent!"
Looking at the gigantic world before them, the pirates were dumbfounded. This was the most spectacular sight they had ever seen in their lives.
"I feel like we've shrunk!"
"I feel that way too!"
"Haha, it's just that this place is too big!"
Everyone went ashore.
Everything around them was incredibly huge. Even ordinary weeds were taller than normal people, making them feel as if they had shrunk.
"Buzz buzz~~"
Bees, holding spears and larger than humans, flew past them.
"Gulp!"
The pirates all swallowed in unison.
"Look, it's the Giants!"
In the immense village, Giants were busy everywhere, and upon seeing Gerd, they all smiled.
"Gerd, long time no see!"
"Mm, it's been a while since I've been back."
Gerd greeted them happily, as sweet as ever.
The Giants noticed Daichi and his group. Instead of hostility, they showed curious eyes.
"Are these your friends?"
"Mm!"
Gerd nodded vigorously.
So happy!
The Giant girl looked at Daichi.
"I'll take you around. Hajrudin will definitely be angry when he knows you're coming, so just ignore him."
"Okay, thank you."
Daichi thanked her with a smile, then looked at the Giant village.
His eyes were full of doubt.
It was indeed magnificent, but completely different from what he had imagined. He had thought it would be like the Beast Pirates, with every Giant being wild and untamed.
The Giant village before him, apart from being larger in scale, was no different from an ordinary village. Perhaps because it was isolated from the world, the village's atmosphere was very quiet and peaceful.
It would be nice to retire here.
But where was the arena he had been longing for?
Gerd led the way, introducing the customs and traditions of Elbaf to everyone. "This is Western Village, where the warriors of Elbaf mainly live."
"Over there is the Warrior's Spring. It looks a lot like a beach, right? That's because part of the trees have been weathered over time. Children love to play there."
"Next to it is the Owl Library, which has many books! Oh, and over there is the Walrus Academy!"
"By the way, do you see the castle?"
Gerd squatted down and whispered to Daichi. "That's Aurust Castle, where King Harald once lived. Don't go near it, the guards will treat you as enemies!"
"I understand."
Daichi's heart stirred.
A castle, with guards watching over it.
The most dangerous places often hide the most important things!
Speaking of which, it's really big!
The scale was even more astonishing when she squatted down!
After much thought, Daichi asked the question that had been in his heart for a long time. "Gerd, do you Giants fall in love with humans?"
"Eh?"
Gerd's face became even redder.
She actually wanted to try it.
"Yes, there are!"
"Ah?"
Daichi was dumbfounded.
He just asked casually, and there really was?
Gerd lowered her body, getting closer to Daichi, and whispered. "My friend Ripley is married to a human male and even had a child."
"Had a child?!"
Daichi gasped!
Holy cow!
Who is it, so fierce!
It's truly enviable. He also wants to experience the taste of a Giant girl!
As they walked, everyone arrived near the Walrus Academy. A group of young Giant children spotted them and rushed over with sticks.
"Look, it's little humans!"
"Catch them and make them prisoners!"
"Stop! You can't chase humans!"
The children were loud and divided into two factions, with the boys being more boisterous and the girls much gentler.
Daichi's eyes sharpened.
"Thump!"
The rushing children all knelt on the ground, huddled together, trembling, and tears fell.
They're going to be killed!
Such scary little humans!
The little girls quickly ran over, apologizing fearfully. "I'm sorry, these idiots caused you trouble. We were just curious."
Daichi frowned, his cold demeanor making the children even more afraid.
Gerd quickly protected the children, glaring at Daichi without any power, as if pouting.
"Don't scare the little ones."
"I'm not scaring them."
Daichi sighed helplessly.
Even if they were children, they were still the Giants' reserve warriors, right? What was with this weak display?
Not only Daichi, but his subordinates also looked disgusted.
They were even worse than the brats on Onigashima.
Gerd had been observing Daichi and couldn't help but ask. "Daichi, you seem a bit unhappy."
"Nothing unhappy, it's just that Elbaf is not quite what I imagined a warrior nation to be. There's a bit of a discrepancy."
Daichi explained patiently.
"Ah ha ha ha, are you discouraged?"
Another female Giant walked over and explained with a smile. "Elbaf warriors conquering the world is an old story from 100 years ago. Today's Elbaf has long abandoned its traditions."
"Violence, plunder, war!"
"These are no longer the labels of Elbaf!"
Daichi looked at the female Giant.
Gerd lifted Daichi up and quietly introduced. "She's Ripley, the one I just told you about. She's currently a teacher at the Walrus Academy."
"Is that her?"
Daichi was very surprised.
My apologies! My apologies!
Love that transcends size and race, that courage is truly admirable!
Daichi looked at Ripley. "You just said Elbaf abandoned its traditions, can you tell me why?"
"That's because the great King Harald reformed Elbaf. The King was determined to make Elbaf abandon violence and build bridges with the nations of the world. He was a kind-hearted and wise ruler."
Ripple recounted the history with a smile, then sighed softly. "It's just a pity that King Harald was killed by his own son, Loki, but his spirit has not disappeared. Now, the only warriors left in Elbaf are the older generation."
"I see."
Daichi slowly nodded, his gaze dark.
"So, this means there's no giant arena in Elbaf now, and no Giant warriors fighting to the death for glory?"
"How could there be!"
The Giants all roared in unison, even the children were indignant.
"We don't want to fight, it's too dangerous!"
"That's not popular anymore!"
"We long for peace!"
Daichi's face darkened.
His subordinates behind him were also extremely dejected.
Coming to Elbaf and not being able to witness duels between Giant warriors was truly disappointing.
What kind of damned nation of warriors is this!
