Chapter 3 - Arcaplaxe

"The sacred weight will be destroyed by their actions. I mean, you said this before, didn't you? So, what's the point of asking me this question?"

Kevin looked at me with a disgusted expression. He sneered, "You think this is the only thing that will happen? Are you an idiot?! There is more to this! There will be no 'life and death' system. 'Soul' cycle will be saturated! No new life will be formed. Even new souls will die the moment they come to existence. It will even affect your world... think about your daughter. If there is no soul cycle then, souls will have no concept of reincarnation. Damn, they might even just stay at their death place... slowly rotting away... leaving nothing behind."

His words shook my core. No. I can't let this happen. Never. "What do I need to do? How can I rectify this?! Balance this fucking weight!"

Kevin sighed, "The answer lies in the novel. Like the novel that your daughter liked to read, a very similar place... no, the same place... does exist. Do you know something the basic framework of a novel?"

I nodded, "I do. My daughter liked to read me novels before her bed time. I know it sounds weird that a man's daughter liked to read novels to her father but... she liked it. So, yes... I do know the basic framework. Before my death, I was a movie enthusiast."

Kevin nodded, "Can you tell me what do you know about them?"

"Novels mainly work on three concepts. First, story building. Attracting audience with a few chapters or, even lines. Second, fanservice. Men and women both. Honestly, I prohibited my daughter from reading those novels. And the last concept is, good prevails over bad. For most of the cases."

Kevin chuckled, "Well, you do know something. But do you think your daughter never read those 'special' novels?" His tone was full of smugness. It was as if he was lauding the fact that he knew something about my daughter, which I didn't know.

I shook my head and asked, "She read those, didn't she? Secretly, right?"

"She did. Oh, it seems your daughter is not as innocent as you think. Daddy's little girl is all grown up. May be one day, she might do... then again, obviously, she is father's daughter. Are you proud of her?"

I snarled, "Don't you even dare to comment anything about my daughter! You can say anything about me but one word about my daughter, and I will kill you. Divine or not."

"Haha... calm down, Daddy! I am not belittling her."

"Don't even try to," I warned him.

Kevin stopped chuckling and gave me a hard look. It was a warning. But I don't care. I looked into his eyes fearlessly, without backing out. I don't care about anything as long as my daughter is fine.

"It's interesting."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't you get it," Kevin replied, "I certainly know you fear me... but when it comes to your daughter, you abandon your fear. Sir, you are perfect. Oh, I am sure something will change. Definitely. As long as your daughter is on the line, you will not fail us."

With a cold voice, I asked, "Is this is a threat?"

Shaking his head, Kevin answered, "No, it's not. As I have said, your daughter's life... her 'soul,' can be only saved by you. If you succeed, your daughter will be fine. But if you fail, your daughter will be one of the many souls, whose existence will have no meaning. You wouldn't want that, would you?"

I smiled, "No, I don't. So, tell me what do I need to do?" I have asked this question almost for the thousandth time now.

Kevin said, "The answer is in the novel. So, let me quickly give you a briefing. The novel consists of two protagonists. Twin brother and sister. A mixture of both harem, and reverse harem. I believe you are capable enough to know which one has a harem, and which one has a reverse harem, right?" I nodded my head in affirmation. He continued, "The basic premise is that these two siblings belong to the smallest planet in the 'Arcaplaxe.' You want to ask something?"

"What is 'Arcaplaxe?' Group of planets?"

"Correct. Arcaplaxe is a group of planets. Five planets to be precise. Out of the five planets, there is a planet... where the other planets 'dump' their 'waste.' And every year, they 'clean' it."

"You mean, kill them? This disrupts the balance, right?

Kevin nodded, "Yes."

"How can I stop it?" I asked him.

Kevin smirked, "That's for you to think. We chose you, and you have to do your job. So, figure it out yourself. You will have to get other details by yourself. Goodbye."

Confused, I asked "What?" Suddenly, a portal formed above my head.

"Have a safe journey," Kevin yelled in delight while waving his hands. Before I could say anything, the portal began to suck me.

"WHAAATT!!! FUCK YOU!!!! FUCCKKK—"
