A huge grin stretched across Tarkan's face as he narrowly dodged another charge. His heart pounding, but this time, with his confidence increasing. narrowing his eyes he whispered under his breath,
"Reverse two seconds."
In an instant, the boar that had been running toward him came to a sudden halt, as though someone had hit a rewind button, its body began running backward. Its charging form reversed, it legs moving unnaturally as it was pulled away from Tarkan and went back to the moment before its last attack and resumed forward again, the boar charging once more as if nothing had happened.
Tarkan watched this scene, stunned and breathless. The surreal feeling washed over him.
I just did that... again. Wasn't this cheating. This was to Overpowered, he couldn't help being shocked but just as his excitement began to grow a problem arose which was, the fact that he had no weapon Or means to kill the boar, his bare hands wasn't enough to kill it.
The power could reverse time, but that was all it did. It didn't strengthen him in any other way, it didn't offer any offensives to kill. And not that he wasn't thankful with what his new power could do, but the realization frustrated him, the thing was just dodging wouldn't be enough.
His eyes scanned the surroundings frantically thinking and finding any thing that could help tip the scale of the fight. That's when his eyes landed on the tree the boar had smashed earlier. Broken pieces of wood littered the ground, and one of them caught his eye, Long and Sharp.
A plan began to form in his head.
Using the power sparingly just enough to dodge when necessary, Tarkan led the boar in circles. Each time it tried to ram into him, he'd use a quick rewind to escape, staying just out of it reach. The boar, lacking any sense of intelligence, grew more and more agitated. It bellowed in frustration of missing it prey again and again, It wanted to crush him.
It suddenly stopped
For a moment, the creature simply stared at him, Its nostrils flared.
Tarkan didn't move just staring back at it with narrowed eyes.
With a violent snort, the boar kicked off the ground with full force, its curved horns aimed straight for his chest. Tarkan waited. Just one beat longer_
And just in time he jumped moving away from it trajectory.
The boar missing him by just a inch. Its massive head slammed into the tree with a thunderous crack. But unlike how he broke the tree before, It got stuck, its thick horn buried deep in the thick tree.
Exactly as he planned.
Tarkan hit the ground hard rolled back to his feet and began Sprinting toward the wood he had marked earlier, a crude sharp wood, just sharp enough to do damage.
The boar squealed, struggling to free itself. Tarkan not giving it a chance raced forward, gripping the makeshift weapon with both hands, he stabbed at its stomach with all his strength.
The boar screamed in pain, but unlike the scene he'd expected no blood poured out.
The attack hadn't broken through its thick skin, it only made it more desperate. It twisted and kicked, trying harder to free itself, the tree creaking beneath its pull as it horn show signs of coming free.
Tarkan didn't panic, It was of no use in this situation, as any wrong move could lead to his demise so he couldn't afford to fuck it up.
His palm burned where he gripped the wood, blood from the rebound of his earlier attack staining the branch. But his mind was calm, focused.
I'm not Awakened. I'm still a mortal, he thought. But it doesn't matter. What matters was his survival.
With a roar, he leapt again, this time aiming for it's head. The boar's eye gleamed wide and wild struggling to free it self, Tarkan drove the wood forward with every ounce of strength left in his body.
Roarrrr..!!!
It pierced through the boar eyes like butter.
Blood and a strange whitish fluid burst outward, spraying across Tarkan's face. The boar wailed, louder than before, its entire body convulsing in pain, just as it seemed like everything was coming to an end.
Its horn which was stuck in the tree cracked under the pressure. With one final violent shake, the horn snapped breaking away from the tree.
The beast staggered back, finally free at last.
