Because not being targeted by an effect doesn't mean you can't be destroyed by an effect monster. Some monster effects don't target, so when both statements are present, monster effects are truly useless against Alexis Rhodes's Ritual Monsters on the field.
Now both monsters on the field had 2700 ATK, so Alexis Rhodes couldn't do anything to You Feng.
