Chapter 211 - Chapter 211: Symbiote Chaos - The Web-Slinger Protocol

Peter woke up from his sleep, and his first thought was that he had been knocked out during a fight and had just woken up. Then he remembered that Strange had cast a sleeping spell on him to make him pass out, and now he was in a bed, looking up at an unfamiliar ceiling.

Ah, it's the Sanctum Sanctorum's style.

He also heard Venom's mumbling.

[Oh, I think I had a dream.]

"I didn't dream, I just had a good sleep. Wait, how long have I been asleep?"

No one answered. Peter got up from the bed, feeling a bit hungry. He walked out of the room, went through the hallway, and was inexplicably drawn to the kitchen. Driven by hunger, he opened the refrigerator door.

Then a blue octopus monster, with dozens of eyes on each tentacle, fluttered out, ready to pounce on Peter. Luckily, his super strength came in handy and he was able to swat the octopus monster back and pin it inside the refrigerator. He had just woken up and forgotten how wild Doctor Strange's kitchen was.

Just then, a bald Asian man walked into the kitchen. He saw Spider-Man and said unhappily, "This isn't where you should be, Spider-Man. The kitchen is the Sanctum Sanctorum's most highly classified facility."

"Sorry, but I'm really hungry, and I don't know how I ended up here." Peter scratched his head helplessly, then suddenly realized, "Wait... the kitchen is a highly classified facility?"

"Casting magic comes at a cost, especially non-white magic. To offset this cost, sorcerers need to consume various magical or dimensional creatures. The Sanctum Sanctorum has the most prized magical creatures."

I would never eat that stuff, Peter thought. Then he saw Wong open the refrigerator. The big octopus seemed to have disappeared. Wong took out a sandwich and handed it to Peter. Seeing that Peter didn't take it, he asked in confusion, "Aren't you hungry?"

"Oh, uh... thank you."

Peter took the sandwich and started eating. Wong then took out something that looked like a shell-less hermit crab from the refrigerator and started cooking. Before Peter could take a few bites, Wong had already boiled the thing into a colorful paste. He held the bowl of paste and looked at Peter. "Come on, the Sorcerer Supreme wants to see you."

Strange wants to see me? Good. I wanted to ask him why he cast that sleeping spell on me. Peter grumbled to himself as he followed Wong into a room. Strange was standing by a table, looking at a scroll repeatedly. When Wong saw this, he snatched the scroll away first, then handed the paste to Strange.

"If I ever catch you looking for solutions in the original Darkhold again, you'll have to eat Carndesh serpent stew for an entire month."

Strange shrugged helplessly, watching Wong take away the original Darkhold. Peter looked at the scroll in Wong's hands with some shock, then looked back at Strange. "What was that thing?"

"The Darkhold. I bet your spider-sense was going crazy, wasn't it, kid?" Strange shrugged helplessly and gave an apologetic smile. "You know, when conventional methods can't solve the current situation, people always think of some devious ways. I was just thinking if I could use the Darkhold to deal with Knull... but Wong obviously doesn't approve of that plan."

Who would approve of that plan! Are you trying to summon Chthon and watch the Master of Dark Magic and the King in Black fight on Earth?

"In any case, I'm just being cautious. I read a prophecy, Spider-Man. If we want to defeat Knull, you are indispensable." Strange said, opening a portal with his Sling Ring. "I can't hold on for too long. Once 48 hours have passed, Knull will get the Hulk's Codex. At that point, he could just smash Manhattan Island to bits."

"Wait, the Hulk?"

"Yeah. When Knull appeared in front of the Avengers, they decided to send the Hulk charging in. Pretty clever, right?" Strange said with a sarcastic tone as he took out a sword and handed it to Peter. "Take this. You'll need it."

"?"

"The Sword of the Dragonfang. In ancient times, an Eastern sorcerer forged this sword from a dragon's tooth. It has many abilities. For example, it can absorb the user's blood to enhance its power and strengthen the user's swordsmanship. But none of that is the key. The important thing is that this sword can absorb magic and break through barriers. With it, you can harm Knull."

Peter remembered how he tried to attack Knull but couldn't touch him when he first appeared.

"If you had given this to me sooner, maybe none of this would have happened."

"Knull's consciousness is still inside that dragon's body. Killing that clone is useless." Strange rolled his eyes at Peter, and after muttering a spell, he turned the Sword of the Dragonfang into a bracelet and merged it with the web-shooters on Peter's left hand.

"So... do you have a way to get rid of Knull without his consciousness returning to Klyntar?"

"Of course not. What do you think the Sorcerer Supreme is, Doraemon?" Strange sighed and shook his head helplessly. This was all the help he could offer. The rest was up to the Avengers themselves.

Peter had no choice but to say goodbye to Strange and head to the Sanctum Sanctorum's main hall. On the way, he saw a TV. The Daily Bugle was still working, and J. Jonah Jameson was driving his old car, holding a camera and a microphone, broadcasting live in Manhattan.

Hundreds of Ultron bots were flying in Manhattan, using their sonic emitters to clear out the regular symbiote grunts, but they were quickly torn apart by even more symbiote grunts. Then more Ultron bots flew out of Avengers Tower. It seemed Tony and Hank weren't slacking off, and Avengers Tower was continuously creating new Ultron bots to contain the situation.

What is Knull doing? Is he really just waiting to get the Hulk's Codex? That doesn't seem right.

As Peter thought about this, he looked at the Manhattan covered in black symbiotes. After a moment of hesitation, he suddenly had an idea.

"Hey, Venom? Buddy? I think J. Jonah Jameson might be right. The all-black suit looks like a bad guy, especially now that all of New York is covered in Knull's symbiotes."

[Design a new suit?]

"Maybe? How about we go back to a classic look? Instead of Venomized Spider-Man, how about Venom and Spider-Man?"

As Peter spoke, he began to design a new suit in his mind. The black suit on his body started to change, eventually transforming into a completely new suit.

Stop being so dark, Spider-Man. It's time to give people some hope.
