Chapter 303 - Chapter 303: Harry's Investigation

Harry Osborn returned to the Osborn family mansion in Upstate New York. The area referred to as Upstate New York is the region of New York State outside of New York City, where property prices are significantly cheaper than in the city.

That was why Norman Osborn bought a house there.

Harry first entered the house. There was no butler, or rather, the house had always been cold and quiet. For Harry, it was an uncomfortable place; for Norman, it was just a place to sleep.

"Let's see, Peter Parker's skeleton key..."

Inserting a key with no noticeable teeth into the lock of his father's study—a room he had never entered—Harry easily opened the door. He sneaked in and began flipping through files. Based on Peter's deductions and his own understanding, his bastard father was undoubtedly targeting the Pentagon or anyone else who might harm Osborn's personal interests.

So, he needed to find the relevant documents.

"I need to search carefully before the old man gets home. What is this?"

Flipping through the files, Harry found a thick report. He started reading through what looked like completely incomprehensible text or mere symbols, marked with content he didn't recognize. However, he could at least understand the report's cover:

"Savage Force Project Proposal, Herbert Edgar Wyndham Version, Notation: Abandoned."

"Counter-Earth, oh wait, should I call it Anti-Earth? Anti-Earth Testing Ground Report, Unauthorized but Completed. What is this, Anti-Earth? My dad built an Anti-Earth? You've got to be kidding me. And what are these characters..."

After quickly taking photos of these items and sending them to Peter, Harry continued reading the understandable English sections of the largely cryptic report: "Based on text rubbings discovered in an unknown alien ruin in the Blue Area of the Moon—where is the Blue Area of the Moon? And alien ruins? Never mind...—a method was analyzed to create an entire planet for ecosystem redesign, a plan aimed at creating an Anti-Earth with negative mass in the Negative Zone. The entrance to this testing ground is located on the opposite side of Earth's orbit, actually situated within the Negative Zone..."

It was completely incomprehensible. Alien civilization ruins on the moon? What is the Negative Zone? A negative mass Anti-Earth? How did humans create a planet by hand?

None of this made any sense, and hadn't this proposal been abandoned? Why did the following content suggest the Anti-Earth had already been built?

"Herbert E. is suspected of having deciphered the traces left by this semi-plant, high-level civilization he calls the Cotati on the moon and claimed a method to create a brand-new ecosystem..."

"Exploration Report 007: Osborn Tech's unmanned probe found the Negative Zone entrance created by Herbert E. That madman succeeded..."

"Exploration Report 016: No life form can pass through the Anti-Earth's barrier..."

"Exploration Report 023: Discovered that genetically modified organisms created by Richard Parker can pass through the Anti-Earth's genetic screening barrier..."

What is all this?

Wait a minute, I'm a lure. So, it's highly possible the old man deliberately left these things here for me to find?

The thought struck Harry, and he immediately nodded. It was highly likely. The report was likely real: a person named Herbert Edgar Wyndham had planned a Savage Force Project completely different from Peter's father's, intending to use high-level alien technology found on the moon to create an Anti-Earth.

Because the project was too fantastical, even Norman Osborn didn't dare adopt it and outright rejected the entire plan. But the rejected Herbert E. didn't give up; he actually created a so-called Anti-Earth in the Negative Zone by himself. This place would allow him to experiment freely and barred entry to any organism that hadn't genetically modified itself.

Hmm... Why would Dad want me to see this?

Of course, most superheroes meet the requirements to enter, but the current version of the Savage Force Project's Super Soldiers could definitely enter. If Peter and the others believe this report is intended for the Pentagon, then it's telling the Pentagon that Osborn Tech's Super Soldiers can enter an Anti-Earth?

"What good is that?"

Staring at the report, which was full of information but utterly useless—at least in figuring out Osborn's true intentions—Harry scratched his head and continued his search, frustrated.

Of course, none of it was useful.

Norman smiled in his office, watching his busy son on the monitor. He had anticipated losing Peter Parker's trust, but everyone already knew who Norman Osborn was, so he wasn't worried.

Norman Osborn actually had no secrets, only a pile of commercial secrets, the most profitable ones being the most deeply hidden. He yawned out of boredom, certain that another Avenger would soon come to investigate him. He'd let them search; he had nothing to hide, anyway.

He left his seat. Gwen, who had been waiting for a long time, quietly followed him. Meanwhile, Black Cat (Felicia Hardy), who had completely forgotten about Gwen's presence, finally got her chance to climb in through the window and resumed the work from the previous day.

She found a hidden compartment in the office—a private laboratory that Peter had told her Norman had prepared long ago.

The items she was looking for were things Peter had specifically requested, including the Goblin mask, pumpkin bombs, personal powered armor, and the gliders.

"I wonder what the parallel universe Norman Osborn is like. Not here, not here, none of it. Hmm, what is this?"

Black Cat picked up a specimen jar containing a spider specimen, explicitly labeled with the name Richard Parker.

"So this is the gift Norman Osborn specially left for me? How thoughtful."

Perhaps Norman Osborn left gifts for everyone, but this spider specimen was definitely something of great commemorative value. Hopefully, young Peter Parker would be satisfied.

As for Osborn himself, he walked into another, ordinary-looking lounge, found a place to sit down, and leaned back. As the backrest was lowered, a secret door opened, and he quietly walked in.

The infrared detector briefly lit up when Gwen entered, but the system quickly dismissed it as a false signal, ignoring it entirely.
