The divine beast tournament was one of the most famous and prestigious in the entire land of beastmen, a place where dozens of tribes gathered from the venomous snake folk to the swift cat folk and even the incomparable dragon folk.
Everyone there had a single goal: the chance to obtain the blessing of the fox folk, the rarest and most hidden of all the hundreds of folk in the land of beast men.
Obviously, this wasn't easy to achieve.
Only a thousand young people would even have the chance to take part in the qualifying rounds of the tournament. Less than 100 would take part in the main part and, of these, only two would be champion.
These first thousand would be divided between recommended participants from the major tribes of the beast folks and the commoners, who could only rely on a random selection system.
It came as a great surprise to everyone when Tai'Ren, lord of the cat folk, announced that one of his folk's five places had been given to his son-in-law.
