-Lost and penniless
Were the only words Natsuki Subaru could describe himself as, well not entirely penniless, the assets he had with him were something. Looking around Subaru had noted several things, among such things were his sudden teleportation to this city, how he got here he had no idea, but he was sure this was Japan.
Looking to the buildings Natsuki Subaru could note that they were old, like really old, the entire area seemed like it was straight out of the Sengoku period, which led the young raven-haired youth to think he was in some lost village in the mountain's, but that didn't make any sense, the town-city was to big to ever be even remotely referred to as a village, and better yet there were no mountains anywhere
"Is this Kyoto?" The boy blurted out, trying to comprehend just were in Japan he was
(I guess I should look around, or at the very least ask someone) Now walking, Natsuki Subaru would begin to get a better look at things, that was until-
"WHAT THE FU-" Subaru now starring blankly at a group of demi-humans paused for a second, they look so real- what type of freaky cosplay is this?
(I know its rude to stare but… That can't be right, they have mouths and everything?!) Now walking away Subaru was thrown into a state of deep thought
(That doesn't look right at all, I mean, they look physically fine, if they were real, but monster creatures don't exist, right?) Now walking up to a stand, The nasty eyed boy would intend to get some information, and maybe just why there's such a big furry-con in this city
Walking to the sales-person, Subaru took a look at him, long grey hair, sharp blue eyes, and fair skin, all accompanied by a green suit that looked straight out of a fantasy video game
(jeez, some people are hard-core cosplayers here, I'll givem that) Subaru noted putting his hand to his chin, the boy with nasty eyes would proceed to ask the guy about the city
"H-Hey" Subaru called out wearily
"Hello, how can I help you mister, lookin to buy something? There's a 20% off on Gustekan oil's right now~" The man had a very cheerful approach, clasping his hands together he gave Subaru a bright smile
(Weirdly enthusiastic but I'll take it, and something about Gustekan? Must be some European country), Subaru retorted his inner monologue and shifted his gaze fully to the silver-haired salesman, "Actually Im kinda in a dire situation right now, I need some information on the city im in if that's alright, I might buy something if you could help me?"
"Why of course!" The salesman replied, his now cheerful tone seemed a bit hinged
"O-oh, thanks" Subaru paused but proceeded, "So this city, what's its name?"
"Name?" The green dressed seller paused for a second and then looked back to Subaru
"Its Okusunai" The boy replied with a "It's obvious" pitch of tone
"Never heard of it, what part of Japan is this?" Subaru replied blankly asking another question
"Ja-pan" The cheerful man now turning to a state of confusion, looked to Subaru
"What? Is this not Japan, I could have sworn judging by the architect of each building-"
"Listen mister, I don't know where you're from, but Kagaragi's the only nation with this type of infrastructure, don't know of this Japan place you're talking about, but I can guarantee you Kagaragi's one of a kind if you exclude the water city that is of course" The seller now noting in a matter-of-fact tone
"Kagaragi… Water city…" Subaru was at a loss, attempting to fill the information in his head and connect it to any previously knowledge, his half hearted attempt instantly failed
"and those guys I saw earlier were real…" Subaru spoke to himself, leaving the poor stand seller to himself
"Which means…" Subaru staring blankly off into the distance coming to his conclusion
"Which means what sir?" The green covered boy asked with an innocent expression
"I'VE BEEN ISEKAID TO A FANTASY WORLD?!" The essentric raven-haired youth shouted out in glee
The now known merchant in front of Subaru was taken back by the sudden outburst but tried to remain calm, his stand was getting glances now, "Just wha'da you mean by that?"
"Ah, it's nothing, just know you were a ton of help" Subaru pointed out his thumb and gave a smile
"Excuse me?" The merchant asked in full confusion
"Say what's you're name?" Subaru asked enthusiastically
"It's Otto, but why would you need-" Otto was cut off swiftly
"Thanks a ton Otto, I'll be sure to remember you're name" Subaru cut him off as his smile turned into a grin
"w-wait, what for?!" Otto now asking out in full concern for himself as the stranger had a hell bent look in his eyes
"Well its obvious isn't it, when im a famous hero I'll be sure to repay you for you're good deeds!" Subaru now had a cocky expression on his face
"H-hero?! You're not making any sense mister" Otto was at a loss
"It will soon, until next time Otto!" and like that the raven haired youth was on a run into the streets, leaving the merchant boy all alone to question what just happened
Lost and tired
Were the only words Natsuki Subaru could describe himself as, he had spent the entre day frantically gawking at his surroundings leading the his failure to realize just how dire his situation was. His money, useless, his skills in reading or writing also useless, the only thing Subaru had going for him was his phone and bag with his ball and note book, but even then what was the worth in that? Not to mention night was quickly approaching with the sunset
Recalling the day, Subaru set out mentally to the very point he was summoned, it was without warning, one minute he was minding his own business at school during break, the next, he was in a entirely different world
"This is nothing like those cringe light novels, where's the cute girl who summoned me here? or the overpowered item I get?!" The boy sighed
Natsuki Subaru, now sitting on grass at the side of a small stream, looked to the sky. Maybe this was some sort of divine plan, drop him into a familiar-ish environment only to crush the boys mood until being saved by his maiden, the raven-haired youth could only imagine
Subaru sighed, he could go off and find some tree to sleep under till tomorrow, maybe even return to that Otto guy, he seemed off but nice at the very least-
"Why the long face kid?"
"Who the hel-" Subaru was startled when he looked behind to find a beast-man, he would have at least heard the grass crunch, but this guy was dead silent
Now getting a good look Subaru could describe the one behind him, he was a wolf-human, Subaru didn't necessarily harbor any distaste towards demi-humans, but he still wasn't accustom to their existence, being from another world and all. The wolf-human had long black and grey clad hair, he wore a purple tinted kimono, and sharp white teeth. Subaru could only look at him in awe, he looked awesome
"Uhh" Subaru starred at the wolf-man blankly
The wolf man gave a slight hardy laugh, "Where are my manners, I guess it's rude to pop up on people like that! My names Halibel, Im just a common traveler on business right now"
Subaru paused for a second at the wolf-mans introduction but deduced quickly that it'd be rude to not introduce himself back. Now using his arms to get himself out of his cross-legged position, Subaru had a slight grin on his face before entering his classic pose, "My name is Natsuki Subaru, not only am a lost, but broke beyond compare! Nice ta meet cha Halibel!" Subaru said in a confident tone
The wolf-man looked back to Subaru with a smile, "While it's a bold thing to say, but I like you're guts kid"
For some reason at the mention of guts a shiver was sent down the raven-haired youth's spine, he ignored the feeling however and proceeded with a smile
"I have to say though, you really scared me back there Halibel, gotta be more careful" Subaru let out a slight laugh, reaching his right palm to the back of his head
"I know I know" The beast-man crossed his arms, "Just a force of habit at this point really"
"ah I see, we all make mistakes" Subaru replied in a forgiving tone
"So say Subaru, I'd like to know a bit more about you, being broke and homeless after all" Halibel quickly noted
"What do you mean? I don't think there's much more to it" Subaru responded in an innocent but confused tone
"Well I mean, not to be rude here, you're an enigma, strange clothes, a foreign accent, surely I would of seen someone like you enter the city" The wolf-man added a bit of a serious tone but kept a warm smile
"Ah yeah, it's quite the unbelievable story actually" Subaru added in an embarrassed tone, was he really going to tell people he was from another nation, yet alone world. How many people would actually believe his story anyways? He pondered if he would explain to Halibel in detail
Halibel now sensing the discomfort in Subaru's voice would choose not to proceed on the topic, at least not right now. The beast-man was sure he could satisfy his questions in the future, that is if the boy were to stay close to him, he sighed for a moment before quickly regaining focus on Subaru
"Well Subaru, you're in quite the dire situation" The wolfman added in a matter of fact tone, Subaru quickly had an embarrassed look on his face, "But in saying that, im feeling quite generous today, how about an offer?"
"an offer?" Subaru quickly asked
"yeah an offer, how's about this, I'll let'cha come stay at my place until you can provide for yourself, till then you're gonna tell me everything about yourself"
"Everything?" Subaru was surprised by the implications, of course Halibel looked liked he could provide, that wasn't the problem, the thing was, this guy's just too damn sketchy, he pops up outta nowhere, and offers Subaru a place to stay? No way hose!
"Well not everything, just enough to get to know you, that's all.."
Subaru sighed in relief, that one line enough eased a bit of suspicion but not enough
"Well I can't say its not an alluring offer its just that-" His stomach growled
"Oh, that's right…" IM SUPER DAMN HUNGARY
Halibel laughed, "Im going to assume you're stomach speaks on you're behalf?"
Subaru nodded in shame, "Looks like Im gonna be taking you up on that offer"
"Here then lemme treat cha' to dinner, I know a great bar just not to far from here" Halibel spoke cheerfully, he then begun to walk towards the city streets
"Y-yeah" Subaru moved quickly in his attempt to keep up
"Ohhhh man~" let out the exasperated sigh of a lengthy man with long baby blue hair
"hm" The purple haired merchant let out a satisfied smirk towards her customer
The two sat across from one-another in wide room filled with countless décor and paintings screaming nobility. The setting sun illuminated the room through a large window at the front, with the rays falling on both of them
"This is quite the deal y'know, one that's gonna land you at the top of the country" The man smiled
"Why of course, its in my aspirations to always come out on top" The girl noted with a smile
"As expected of you Anastasia-sama, soon your names gonna be world wide" The blue haired man only praised the girl in front of him
Said girl was fully dressed in white, from her fluffy boots, to fluffy hat, she wore a hunter's pride. The girl had long purple hair, and beautiful green eyes, she would attract any man willing to get close to her. She only returned a composed smile to the man infront of her
"But if I may, just what do you plan to do now that you virtually own the Kagaragi market~?" The man asked in an eccentric tone, reminiscent of a certain obsessed clown half way across the world
"Its simple really" The girl, Anastasia paused for effect, "Gain a monopoly over the rest of the rest of the world and build a legacy in comparison to Hoshin's, im a greedy girl after all~" The merchant announced with pride
"I see, well I wish you great prosperity, may you're trip to Okusunai benefit all~ you're interests" The light-blue haired man noted in a cheerful tone
"I'll make sure to have remebered yer kindness Rolan, I wish ya the best too" The Purple haired merchant clasped her hands together ending their meeting
Now with her plans to set out west, nothing would stop Anastasia and the newly rebranded Hoshin company, luck was on her side after all

But in all seriousness, lemme explain a few things
So while writing some ideas down, I got stuck on this one idea, what if Subaru was transported to Kagaragi instead of Lugnica, and in a common theme you'll see a lot in my writing, "X amount of years earlier".
As for my other story, I think I need to take a little bit of a break from it, its hard for me to write a lot of the time and I figured if I built up a little bit of experience as a write I'd be able to produce said stories a bit better.
As for this fic, well a few things
We get to see an opbaru in this fic, nothing like take Regleus out on the second attempt fic, but he's got a few protections and can use magic, as well as a secret mousekatool for later, but in all seriousness were just getting a Subaru who gets to live up to his original expectations. (don't come at me with the whole witch factor erases divine protections things, I'll make some bullshit reason up)
There's gonna be an Anastasia-Subaru relationship cuz why not
Story is set three-four years before main timeline, in no way will this story follow canon, or at least it'll keep some aspects
A lot of stuff is made up so don't at me, I read the wiki
