It was 3 a.m. when I got the damn call. Adam, that chaos-loving idiot, said he caught a thief—someone who tried to steal from us. I sighed, tossed on my jacket, and got behind the wheel of my Lambo. One hand on the wheel, the other holding a cigarette. I don't smoke much, but some nights… yeah. Some nights, the beast wants a drag too.
The roads were empty, like they were afraid of me. My sunglasses reflected nothing but streetlight ghosts. Hot girl driving with blood in her bones. You know the vibe.
I pulled into the old farm. Not your average barnyard story—this place? It's history. Messy, violent, mine.
First thing I see is Adam, standing like a damn villain in a gym ad. I punch his arm, casually.
He grins. "Yo, what's up? You look ready to kill."
I blow smoke past him. "Was planning to, yeah. But I'm feeling merciful tonight. Show me the rat."
He leads me toward the basement. I hear whimpering before I see him. Leo. Tied to a chair. Chains. Bruised. Mouth bleeding. Eyes puffed up like regrets. He was barely breathing.
I tilted my head, hands in my pockets.
"Good work," I said to Adam. "I like it."
Then I crouched, grabbed Leo by his matted hair. He yelped. I didn't flinch.
"You worked with us for years," I said coldly. "And now you're just another rat in the dark."
He begged. "Please, Ruby. I was greedy. I'm sorry. I have a daughter. She's just two…"
I spat the words like venom. "Beg louder."
He dropped to the floor, clutching my feet like I was god or devil. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please have mercy—Ruby, please…"
I smiled.
"Fine," I whispered, voice like a lullaby with thorns. "Go."
He stumbled toward the door, breath catching, hope rising like a fool's moon. Adam stood still—he knew.
I raised my pistol and pulled the trigger.
Bang.
No second thoughts. No flinching. Leo collapsed. And the silence? It clapped louder than the gunshot.
I lit another cigarette. "He abused his wife. Beat his daughter. Two years old. He was already a monster."
Adam didn't say anything
I shot him... Yes so what I shot him cuz he abused his wife and his daughter she's just 2 still he's a beast. I'm sure his wife will gonna said thank god. I stretched myself and said hey Adam tomorrow take me with you to his wife and yeh from tomorrow do one thing take care of his wife and daughter financially and protect them.
I went back to my car I'm tired I was a sleepy I check my phone It was 5 clock in the morning I was like wow Adam I'll like you someday. I was driving back to my villa that villa which was like cage to me i parked my lambo and went straight back to my room locked the door just drag myself onto the bed my hand is bleeding and it was hurting I'm just used to enduring the pain.
I closed my eyes and just sleep,I woke up and saw max were standing Infront of me" what are you standing here to give me an heart attack". He sigh and said"are you an idiot look at yourself your knuckles it was covered with dry blood what the hell".
I blinked at him and said"just get out and lemme sleep".
