"Did something happen at work?" Desmond asks.
Bullseye. Lately, he's been getting good at reading my mood, perfect even. I immediately start venting.
"It's Briana. She's been stirring up trouble and changing menus on a whim."
"Again?!" Desmond sighs. "Isn't her stubbornness affecting business? Maybe you can use that as an excuse and fire her without suffering consequences from the older shareholders."
I flop into my office chair, pulling my laptop closer as I begin working on the speech I'm supposed to give at a university on Monday. "I was thinking the same too and I already warned her to fix her errors, or she's getting fired."
"That's my girl," Desmond replies, chuckling.
