Chapter 87 - Desmond: Not on my watch

Mom chokes on her drink. Dad pushes his chair back, the wood scrapping loudly on the tiles as he abruptly stands, his eyes wide open at Calvin and Briana. Grandma claps her hands and laughs, throwing her head back as if all this is hilarious news. As for Leilani and me, we both freeze, eyes on each of our siblings.

I should've known it would come to this. I mean, they literally announced it at the wedding, holding hands and shamelessly challenging us to our faces on our day. The signs were there, and yet, I ignored them, pushed them to the back of my head thinking they wouldn't cross the line. I was naive. I forgot what kind of guy my brother is—a man who'll go to any length to achieve his goal.

Tsk. No wonder he didn't seem as though he was anxious during his "wife search" period. He had already found one, his sister-in-law's little sibling.

God, it sounds even more disgusting when I think of it that way.
