"It's my show, Kofi, not yours," the director Manon called over laughs at him. "But yes, you're the main viewer attraction here so you'll be perfect for a judge."
There has been a slight change of plans thanks to the director, mainly, his show is going to be the one to shoot and air an episode featuring Leilani's restaurant, not Kofi's channel—though he's still going to take a part in this since his popularity and reputation are so powerful, he might be our redemption from this mess.
Leilani claps her hands gleefully, relief flashing in her eyes when she turns to look at me. "This might just work, Des," she squeaks, placing her head on my shoulder. I lower it a little so she can rest comfortably, smiling, but before I can tease her, Manon's director friend cuts me off.
