Chapter 242 - Chapter 242: Diva Lorelie’s Genre Tour begins

[AUTHOR NOTE: It's the start of a new month, so I would first of all like to thank all of you who have picked up S.P.E.C.T.O.R and are enjoying it. So thank you all very much. I always enjoy reading your comments and reviews, and since I am so new to writing novels, I try to take even the criticism as a learning experience.... I did say try lol.

Regarding reviews, if you ever have a spare few minutes that you're not busy, could I possibly ask that you throw up a review, since that improves the chance of the novel being discovered.... aparently.

And finally, the shameless plug section, don't forget there are 40 more chapters to read over on my Patreon or SubscribeStar (Links to which are at the bottom of the page).

Thanks again for reading, and now on with the chapter.]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Hey streamer Adam, will your stream actually be showing Diva Lorelie's performance?]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Streamer Adam? The streamer's name is Adam?]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): So the streamer's name is Adam.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Hi Adam, 😉, how you doin'?]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Wait, Adam… Adam… why does that name sound familiar?]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): It's a common name, you're probably thinking of another Adam.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): No, there's something about the name Adam and that Viktor Morose he killed back when he first started streaming.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Wasn't Adam the first name of the guy that Viktor Morose accused of killing that girl Jenny Downs?]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): THAT'S IT, ADAM SPENCER. He was accused of killing Jenny Downs in the woods one night. However, the police never found him, and he seemed to disappear.]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Well, in this case, he disappeared from the face of the Earth. Kekeke.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Wasn't the streamer's first mission before he got the ship all about getting revenge for something he was framed for? Are we saying that the streamer is actually Adam Spencer, and his whole killing Viktor Morose and the others was a revenge arc?]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): 🤯]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): He went out of his way to kill all those people because they were actually the ones who killed his woman? That's so romantic.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): You have a messed-up idea of romance.]

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): How did you learn this? I don't remember it being revealed on his last stream.]

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Oh, right, you lot don't have access to Xer-verse. It was revealed in the comments section of an Eri post.]

As the chat told the Earthlings about the Xer-verse post revealing Adam's name, Adam himself saw Lorelie approaching him, wearing a white crop top covered in a black jacket with golden highlights that only covered her arms and down to just above her visible belly, along with white hot pants that had a golden belt.

"How do I look?" Lorelie asked as she twirled in the water for Adam to see.

"Beautiful," Adam replied, making Lorelie smile even more.

"Wish me luck," Lorelie said as she swam past him while pressing her hand against his chest before she continued to swim towards the stage.

As she approached the stage, the lights in the Royal Palace arena dimmed before music began to play.

💫💫💫

"It's starting, it's starting," Tephe said excitedly as the lights in the arena dimmed and music began to play.

"It seems she's starting with Golden," Rowena remarked just as a spotlight hit the stage, illuminating Lorelie as she sang her first lyrics.

"I was a ghost, I was alone."

As Lorelie sang, the audience sang along with her since they already knew the words to the song.

Golden had been trending on Xer-verse and Musicast ever since Lorelie revealed it, and it was such an infectious song that people of all different races just couldn't help but pick up the words to it.

💫💫💫

"She really is an amazing singer," Revi commented as she sat upon the Phoenix throne in the throne room and watched Lorelie's performance on a large holographic screen.

Likewise, many individuals with whom Adam had interacted were tuning in to watch the start of Diva Lorelie's Genre Tour.

Becky had persuaded her cousin to let them watch it from the bridge of the Imperial Down.

Empress Victoria watched it in her room.

Lizzie and Andrew watched it along with all the other mercenaries in the Palaxia Mercenary Hall.

Becky's was one of the first places on Trillion to receive relief supplies, thanks to Administrator Ororis, and now many people watched Diva Lorelie's Genre Tour from Becky's bar, including Susan, Jessie and Joe.

Prime watched the performance from his apartment while he drowned his sorrows in alcohol at the fact that it was not public knowledge that he wouldn't be acting as Diva Lorelie's chaperone. Since the story broke, people had been constantly roasting him on Xer-verse, and he hadn't streamed since.

Lord Malacoss watched from his home on Deverinian 9.

Muriel, while thinking that she couldn't wait for Diva Lorelie to perform on Aqua Primus as she had promised.

Malgath watched with his wife, Princess Ulesse, in their own home on Solarian Prime.

On a space station above Solarian Prime, many of the scientists took a break from their work on Project T to watch the performance, including Liluth Solar, who sat alone in her office watching it. Unlike everyone whose eyes were focused purely on Lorelie's performance, Liluth only occasionally glanced at Lorelie with a kind smile, while the rest of the time her eyes roamed the rest of the arena as if looking for someone or something that was displayed before her on a large holographic screen.

💫💫💫

On Earth, Emma Hopkins was working in her office at Hopkins Bank.

After Adam had delivered Melanie Gatz to her at the Blue Lagoon Club, she had ordered her employee, Stacey, to do a full in-depth check on all her employees and their associates for anything suspicious, who had successfully found several individuals showing suspicious activity, which Emma had promptly fired.

Emma was very grateful to the mysterious individual who had delivered Melanie Gatz to her, which had prompted her to do a full in-depth check, and she had wanted to personally thank him.

Unfortunately, when she went back to her laptop to thank him on his stream, she found that she no longer had access to the stream and had not seen him go live again in almost three years.

After the mysterious individual had successfully killed Victor and Francis morose, he seemed to vanish from the face of the Earth, as no one had heard or seen him or his strangely advanced technology again.

After he didn't appear again in over six months, Emma, along with the leaders of the five families, conducted an in-depth investigation into who the mysterious individual could have been. Eventually, based on his targets and what he had said, they came to the conclusion that the most likely person to be the mysterious individual was a young man named Adam Spencer.

Adam Spencer was wanted for the suspected murder of his girlfriend, Jenny Downs, when they went camping in the woods. The prime informant regarding the murder had been Victor Morose, while all the other individuals he had been confirmed to have killed were somehow involved or connected to covering up the fact that it was Victor Morose who killed Jenny Downs.

After finding out the reason that Adam was targeting them, the leaders of the five families had relaxed and dropped the whole investigation into Adam. They all came to the conclusion that this was simply about revenge, and now that his revenge was complete, Adam Spencer would not bother them again, plus they didn't want to antagonise someone who had access to such advanced technology, the likes of which they had never seen.

Emma, on the other hand, was different to the leaders of the five families; she had hired people to continue to search for Adam to thank him for his assistance and to hopefully build a friendship with him. Unfortunately, after almost three years of trying, she had turned up nothing.

Recently, however, there had been strange actions from the streaming platforms that piqued Emma's curiosity. First was their purchase of a music license, like what radio stations have, allowing all the streamers to stream music without worry of being sued for copyright. After that, they purchased a license allowing them to watch movies on stream without worry of being sued for copyright.

She had found both these purchases suspicious because the whole point of a streaming platform, like any business, was to make money, but the purchase of these two licences put a major dent in their profits.

There had also been a few posts on social media recently talking about a streamer with advanced armour granting him the ability to fly; however, Emma didn't put much stock in these posts since they spoke of a spaceship, space travel, vampires, dragons and aliens.

As Emma checked the banking records of Hopkins Bank, she suddenly received a notification on the computer she was using. Emma gave it a cursory glance, planning to only pay it real attention after she finished her work, when she saw an exact duplicate of the advert for the streamer called S.P.E.C.T.O.R., which she had received almost three years ago.

Unable to hide the hope in her eyes, she clicked the link and was taken to a streaming platform that showed a human swimming through water, surrounded by what looked like humans with tails.

"Mermaids?" Emma asked in shock and was about to type in the chat when she saw a mermaid more beautiful than any woman she had ever seen, swimming towards the human with a happy smile before proceeding to the stage.

"How can anyone sing so well?" Emma Hopkins asked in amazement as she watched and listened to Lorelie's performance.

She had heard many people, both famous and not, cover Golden because it was a very popular song on Earth right now; however, she had never heard anyone sing it as well as the mermaid on the computer screen before her.
