"You shouldn't worry about that," Rowena replied simply.
"I shouldn't worry about the man you're trying to set me up with for some unknown reason, in forty-three years, becoming old and wrinkly when he's from a finite race?" Shalendra asked before adding, "Why forty-three years, anyway?"
"A random number I selected," Rowena said dismissively.

"Why are you so worried about him becoming old and wrinkly? If that does indeed happen and you don't like it, then you just have to refuse the chance to be with him," Rowena continued.
"Why are you so adamant about me becoming his lover? How many lovers does he even have right now?" Shalendra asked in return.
"Because I see potential in you and we only allow the best to be Adam's lover, that's why there are only three of us so far."

"Potential? I'm just a member of the queen's personal bodyguard unit," Shalendra replied dismissively as she led them inside one of the buildings, while adding, "This is the Historic Research Department building. What exactly are you looking for so that I can help you find it?"
As the three stepped inside, Adam found himself in a large entry hall that had a reception desk of some kind situated in the middle of it before the thick trunk of a tree, while at least half a dozen archways made from the branches of trees acted as entrances to different hallways.
Many individuals, mainly Solarians, crossed the entry hall, going from one hallway to another.
"I'm afraid I don't know what the item is called," Adam lied as he looked around the building with interest.
"You don't know what it's called?" Shalendra replied with a frown before asking, "Do you at least know who created it? That way, we can find out where it might be stored."
"Theodmer Sarmaer," Adam replied.

"Theodmer Sarmaer? You're kidding?" Shalendra asked as she gave Adam a surprised look before asking, "Why would you want to see something that crackpot made?"
"Is he famous?" Adam asked curiously.
"For his wild and outlandish theories," Shalendra replied as she indicated for the pair to follow her again before walking towards a particular archway while saying, "His most famous one is related to time-travel. I don't really understand the theory myself, but he theorised that by incorporating time travel into a subspace drive, you could theoretically move to any other point in the universe in minus one second."
"Minus one second?" Adam asked curiously.
"Something to do with using time travel, as if that was even possible, to send a ship back in time by one second, thereby making it appear as if the ship had travelled across the universe instantaneously," Shalendra explained.
"Time travel? As if something like that's even possible," Rowena scoffed while giving Adam a playful wink.
"Haha, I know, right? I told you he was a crackpot," Shalendra said with a chuckle before adding in a curious tone, "I wonder why the university has something he made?"

"I guess someone figured it was important," Adam remarked before asking, "So where are we going now?"
"To see one of the professors and the head of the Historic Research Department; if anyone knows about a device created by Theodmer Sarmaer, it would be Professor Elidyr Jozeiros."
"Why's that?" Adam asked.
"You're about to find out," Shalendra replied as she stopped in front of a door that was not very far down the hallway before giving it a knock.
"Yes?" A voice asked from the other side of the door before Shalendra took that as an invitation to open it and enter.
The three of them stepped into what was unmistakably an office, though a very cluttered and disorganised one.
Several large bookshelves lined the walls, with obvious gaps where books should have been, yet now lay strewn across the floor and other surfaces in the room, along with various other objects.
As they carefully stepped into the room, making sure to avoid stepping on anything, they saw a male Solarian hunched over the desk in the room, studying something.
"Place it over there, would you," the male Solarian said while pointing to a table near a wall without looking up.
"Professor Jozeiros," Shalendra said politely, causing Elidyr Jozeiros to finally look up curiously at the sound of the unfamiliar voice.
"A member of the queen's personal bodyguards!" Elidyr said in surprise as he recognised the uniform Shalendra wore before asking, "Can I help you with something?"
"I'm escorting these two individuals on behalf of the Queen; they are looking for something that the university possesses and I thought you might know its location," Shalendra replied as she motioned towards Adam and Rowena.
"Terrans that have the favour of Queen Riniya!" Elidyr once again remarked in surprise as he saw Adam and Rowena before asking, "What would possibly make you think I have anything that would interest Terrans?"
"I studied under your mate, Professor Eletha Genhorn, who once complained during a class about how you would waste your hard-earned credits researching theories that the rest of the scientific community has long believed to be outlandish."
"Sounds like something Eletha would say," Elidyr replied while looking at Shalendra curiously and asking, "Eletha teaches classes on international politics. Why would a student of hers join Queen Riniya's personal bodyguard unit?"
"As I'm sure you're aware, his majesty King Taegen's forte is not in international negotiations and so he leaves most of that to Queen Riniya. The professor used her connections to get me assigned to the queen's entourage in order for me to gain first-hand experience, and since I excelled at my combat training in school, I was assigned to her security detail," Shalendra explained.
"Wait, I remember her talking about this. Are you Shalendra Ellynn?" Elidyr asked with realisation.
"That's correct, Professor."
"Eletha has high hopes for you, Miss Ellynn. She claims you have the talent to become the Galamedees Galaxy's Universal Senator in the future," Elidyr remarked, causing Shalendra's eyes to widen in surprise.
Adam raised an eyebrow in surprise when he heard this before noticing that Rowena didn't look surprised at the news and just wore a knowing smile.

"It seems Eletha is yet to broach the subject with you," Elidyr said with a smirk before turning to Adam and Rowena and asking, "What did these two do to earn the queen's favour?"
"They saved First Princess Liluth from a kidnapping attempt," Shalendra replied, causing Elidyr to look upon the two with greater interest and respect before stating.
"Is that so? I haven't heard of any recent kidnapping attempts taking place?"
"That's because it literally just happened outside in the university's entryway."
"Someone dared to try and kidnap the first princess within the grounds of Capital University?" Elidyr asked in anger before saying, "Tell me everything."
"I'm sorry, Professor, but I'm not at liberty to reveal such information since the whole affair is still ongoing," Shalendra replied professionally.
"I see," Elidyr replied before looking at Adam and Rowena and asking, "What about you? Will you tell me what happened?"
"Professor," Shalendra said in a disapproving tone, which Elidyr ignored.
"If you help us find what we are looking for," Adam replied with a smirk, causing Shalendra to shake her head, though she didn't voice any objection this time since she was ordered to assist Adam.
"Very well, what is it you're after?" Elidyr asked curiously.
"A device designed and created by Theodmer Sarmaer," Adam replied, causing Elidyr to show another surprised look and his interest in the pair to grow even more.
"Why are you looking for something made by Theodmer Sarmaer? He's not exactly well respected in this community," Elidyr asked with great interest.
