After returning home, Uchiha Yuan eagerly opened the scroll containing the Rasengan technique.
He had coveted this jutsu for a long time.
The principle of the Rasengan is quite simple—it involves gathering chakra in the palm, rotating it in irregular directions, and compressing it into a palm-sized ball of non-elemental chakra to attack the opponent.
However, in the original work, this jutsu is extremely highly rated. Among all non-hand seal techniques, the Rasengan is considered a miraculous jutsu that evolves alongside its user, possessing top-tier destructive power.
This evolutionary trait is exactly what Uchiha Yuan valued.
At first, the Rasengan is simply a standard A-rank jutsu, and a non-elemental one at that.
But when Naruto added Wind Release nature transformation to it during Shippuden, it became a Wind Style: Rasengan with S-rank power.
The technique was later refined and evolved into the perfected Rasen Shuriken after incorporating Sage Mode.
By then, the Rasen Shuriken was arguably the most powerful Wind Release jutsu in the entire ninja world.
Not to mention how, later on, Naruto further powered it up with tailed beast chakra and Six Paths Yang Power.
Naruto's "ball jutsu" lasted from dozens of episodes through to the finale. Even in Six Paths-level battles, it still remained relevant.
That's the true magic of this technique.
Uchiha Yuan had already begun studying chakra nature transformations, and by learning the Rasengan, he was effectively equipping himself with the foundational framework for four different S-rank elemental jutsu.
Originally, he could've learned the Rasengan secretly using the method outlined in the original story.
But right now, Minato Namikaze's reputation and standing in the village were at their peak—stealing his jutsu now would be like hanging a lantern in a toilet: just asking for death.
So Uchiha Yuan had planned to reach out emotionally using the "deceased" Obito as a pretext, build a rapport with Minato and Kakashi, and gradually extract the Rasengan from them.
As for Kakashi's Chidori, well—since he had already promised to help Kakashi get familiar with the Sharingan, it would be perfectly natural to ask him to demonstrate Chidori, right?
Then Uchiha Yuan could "coincidentally" share some of Sasuke's Chidori-derived techniques, and Kakashi would likely invite him to collaborate on new variations—thus, the Chidori would land in Yuan's hands without suspicion.
And Kakashi wouldn't feel like Yuan was trying to steal anything—he'd genuinely believe Yuan was helping him.
This would also earn Uchiha Yuan further favor with Minato and his disciple.
Once Minato became the Fourth Hokage, it would make future maneuvers even easier.
Yuan's scheme was elaborate, but he didn't expect Minato to trust him this much and just hand over the Rasengan directly—saving him a lot of effort.
"Could it be that Minato didn't seal his memories during the events in Rōran?" Uchiha Yuan muttered to himself.
"No, that's not right. Minato's not that type of person; he wouldn't do something like that," Yuan quickly corrected himself.
Regardless, Uchiha Yuan felt pretty sure Minato's attitude was somehow linked to Rōran.
After all, no one would treat you that well for no reason—there are no meat pies falling from the sky, only in dreams.
Yuan thought back to his interactions with Minato. The only thing that might have earned him preferential treatment was the Rōran mission.
Minato had sealed his memories, so unlike Yuan, he wouldn't be able to recall events with Sharingan-enhanced clarity.
So Yuan speculated that even though the memories were sealed, fragments must have remained in Minato's subconscious.
These residual impressions may have influenced his behavior, prompting him to trust Yuan.
Over the next few days, Yuan visited Kakashi regularly to solidify that trust.
Kakashi had only just received the transplanted Sharingan and desperately needed help to get used to its abilities.
Uchiha Yuan didn't hold anything back—he shared his knowledge and experience about the Sharingan and sparred with Kakashi to help him grow accustomed to using it.
There was no denying it—Kakashi was a bona fide genius.
Especially when it came to adapting to new abilities, he was frighteningly fast.
Within just a few days, Kakashi had already become proficient with the basic functions of a two-tomoe Sharingan.
Right now, the Sharingan's biggest drawback for Kakashi was that he couldn't deactivate it, and it consumed a massive amount of chakra just to maintain.
To be fair, Kakashi's chakra reserves weren't exactly low.
Yuan had always been upgrading chakra and ocular power separately, and his current chakra level was 446.
That was about five to six times more than Kakashi had at this stage.
Kakashi was only 12 years old, so his chakra would continue to grow over time.
Yuan estimated that his current chakra pool was about four times what Kakashi had during his first appearance in the original timeline—about "4-Kaka-levels."
Among the Uchiha clan's three-tomoe Sharingan users, Yuan's chakra reserves were among the highest.
Even Uchiha Mei and Uchiha Cai on the Land of Bears front didn't have as much as him.
So it's clear that Kakashi's chakra levels weren't really low. Among non-kekkei genkai users, he had quite a lot.
But since the Sharingan couldn't be turned off by a non-Uchiha like Kakashi, it meant constant chakra drain.
Even someone with above-average chakra like Kakashi would be worn down just keeping the eye active.
Of course, the Sharingan wasn't just a burden—it gave Kakashi the dynamic visual acuity that would one day make him the "Copy Ninja" of legend once he awakened the Mangekyō.
Still, Yuan felt that Kakashi was somewhat wasting the potential of the Sharingan.
Its dynamic vision was best suited to close-quarters combat. Kakashi, who inherited the White Fang's swordsmanship, was already strong in taijutsu—but he gave that up after receiving the Sharingan.
That felt like a real shame.
So, during these training sessions, Yuan subtly steered Kakashi back toward taijutsu.
With White Fang's swordsmanship, Sharingan-enhanced vision, Chidori, and its lightning-style variants, Kakashi's path could be even stronger than the one in the original story—possibly even mitigating his chakra shortage.
Indeed, Kakashi's current state also made him a prime candidate for learning Lightning Release Chakra Mode.
But again, no one gives out meat pies for free—Uchiha Yuan had no intention of handing over something as valuable as Lightning Release Chakra Mode without reason.
