Chapter 22 - CHAPTER 22:Forehead Kisses & Flower Shop Confessions

When Lu suddenly kissed my forehead, I was flustered. I hit his shoulder and said, "You~~ you really know how to make my heart flutter!"

Lu leaned back and grinned. "Why shouldn't I kiss my girlfriend?"

I pointed at him in protest, but he just laughed and sat back in his chair. "Give me your hand," he said.

He carefully cleaned off the dried blood, bandaged my wound, and patted my hand gently. "Qin, I have a day off tomorrow. Can we go on a date? Our first one. Are you free?"

I gave him a big thumbs-up, and Lu smiled brightly.

By evening, Liang was lounging at home when the doorbell rang. Her mother called out, "Liang, open the door!"

Liang groaned, "Maa~~ I'm tired. Can you open it?"

Her mother walked out holding a kitchen knife and said, "Will you open it or not?"

Liang immediately stood up and ran to the door. But when she opened it and saw Zhichen standing there, she froze in disbelief.

Zhichen raised his hand to say hello—only for Liang to shut the door right in his face. She quickly fixed her hair and expression, then opened the door again and waved at him sweetly.

Zhichen smiled, amused.

From the kitchen, her mother shouted, "Who is it?"

Liang called back, "Ma~~ it's someone from the flower shop. I'm going out. Bye~~" Then she pushed Zhichen outside and shut the door behind her.

Her mother peeked from the kitchen window and muttered, "Lazy girl. When are you ever going to grow up and be responsible?"

Outside, Liang sighed deeply as she walked.

Zhichen raised an eyebrow. "Why did you push me like that?"

Liang replied, "If my mom had seen you, she would've married us off on the spot!"

Zhichen tried hard to suppress his laughter.

Liang smirked and teased, "So why did you come to my house? Was it to check on the flowers… or me~?"

Zhichen froze on the spot, his heart suddenly pounding.

Liang laughed, "You're overreacting! I was just kidding. Come on, let's go see the garden!" She ran ahead cheerfully.

Zhichen stayed back for a second, placing a hand over his chest to calm his heartbeat. Then he looked at her — a smile slowly forming on his lips.
