Chapter 130: The Clan Leader's Request, Early Access to Spirit Treasures!
Clan Leader Lin Fan smiled slightly and gestured to the seat across from him. "Sit, let's talk."
Lin Fan didn't stand on ceremony and sat down as instructed.
At the side, Lin Chen was inwardly shocked at the way the clan leader treated Lin Fan.
But considering Lin Fan's feat of annihilating the Wang Clan, such treatment seemed reasonable.
Lin Fan glanced at the dazed Lin Chen and said indifferently, "You may leave now."
"Yes, Clan Leader!"
Lin Chen respectfully cupped his fists, gave Lin Fan one last look, and withdrew.
Once they were alone, the clan leader said, "I called you here to discuss something. Would you consider not participating in the clan assembly this time?"
"If you take part, I fear the younger generation will be too demoralized… or worse—you might accidentally kill someone."
Lin Fan chuckled. "Clan Leader flatters me. I don't kill lightly—unless someone courts death.
Besides, I don't recall being over the limit for participation, do I?"
"And I do remember… the champion of the assembly gets to pick a treasure from the clan vault."
Even though Lin Fan already had plenty of treasures, who would complain about having more?
Lin Fan smiled. "With your strength, you don't need to compete. You can choose a treasure directly from the vault.
Also, I'll be appointing you as a clan elder."
"Pick something straight from the vault?" Lin Fan's eyes lit up. "Deal."
Truth be told, he didn't care about the clan assembly.
No one among the younger generation—including Lin Langtian—could withstand even one move from him.
There was no point in such a fight.
Clan Leader Lin Fan laughed. "Come, I'll take you to select your treasure right now."
With that, he stood up.
Lin Fan smiled and followed him out of the hall, heading toward the clan's inner treasury.
As they walked, many members of the Lin Clan noticed the two together and cast curious, even awestruck, glances at Lin Fan.
His legendary exploits had already spread throughout the Lin Clan.
Everywhere he went, eyes filled with reverence followed him.
Lin Fan ignored the stares and continued along with the clan leader.
"Have you heard of the Hundred Empire War?" Lin Fan suddenly asked.
"I've heard of it. I definitely plan to participate," Lin Fan said calmly.
Lin Fan nodded slightly. "With your strength, getting into the war won't be a problem. I hope you make a name for yourself there."
Lin Fan smiled. "That's the goal."
"In our clan vault, there are many treasures—most of which were rewards granted to our ancestors after distinguishing themselves in the Hundred Empire War."
"There are even some powerful Earth-grade spirit treasures.
But Earth-grade treasures are sentient. Whether you can tame one depends on your skill."
Lin Fan chuckled. "If I manage to tame one, don't get upset about the loss."
Lin Fan laughed. "If you can subdue it, it's yours."
They passed through many layers of the inner clan area until they reached a steep cliff.
Surrounding the cliff were refined pavilions hidden among lush greenery—elegant and quiet.
Despite the calm, Lin Fan could feel numerous powerful auras hidden nearby—guards watching over the treasury.
At the cliff's edge stood a massive stone gate, radiating faint energy fluctuations.
Several elders stood guard. The leading one wore black robes—Elder Lin Zhi, custodian of the clan's treasury.
"Greetings, Clan Leader!"
The elders bowed respectfully when Lin Fan arrived.
"This is Elder Lin Zhi," Lin Fan introduced.
Then he turned to Lin Zhi. "Open the gate."
"Yes, Clan Leader!"
Though Lin Zhi seemed a bit reluctant, he dared not disobey.
He and the other elders worked together to open the treasury doors.
"You may go in. Once you've chosen, come out quickly. You don't need to compete in the assembly, but it's still good to make an appearance," Lin Fan said with a smile.
Lin Fan nodded. "No problem. I'll be quick."
Though the treasury was filled with rich spiritual energy, Lin Fan didn't plan to waste time absorbing it.
After all, he had Spirit Seals.
Plus, he was looking forward to the show that would unfold during the clan assembly.
With that, he stepped inside.
"Seal the gate," Lin Zhi ordered coldly, and the elders closed the stone door.
Once inside, Lin Fan didn't hesitate and walked straight toward the depths.
Perhaps due to the clan leader's warning—or perhaps because they feared Lin Fan's strength—no one tried to stop him this time.
Soon, Lin Fan arrived at a massive glowing screen.
Behind it, four floating orbs radiated intense power and sentient presence—four Earth-grade spirit treasures.
On the left was a blood-red flexible sword, its serpentine aura chilling like a coiled blood python.
Next was a palm-sized yellow tortoise shell, etched with deep patterns, radiating a dense, earthy strength.
The last two were a black spear and a gray armor.
Lin Fan also noticed a plain-looking small black mountain.
Forget it. That one's for Lin Dong, Lin Fan thought and turned his attention to the gray armor.
Light shimmered across its surface, and the faint silhouette of an ancient bear flickered into view.
"Storm Phantom Bear Armor!"
Once Lin Fan placed his blood imprint on it, the armor's name and properties entered his mind.
Not only did it have tremendous defensive power, it could also generate illusions and boost speed.
"What a pleasant surprise!"
Lin Fan smiled in satisfaction.
He immediately took off his old high-grade spirit armor and replaced it with the new one.
With his selection made, he turned and left the treasury.
Outside, he extended his powerful spiritual sense to search for Qing Tan's presence.
Moments later, he located her—and his brows furrowed.
