Chapter 147: Shocking Sun City, Setting Out Once More!
Swish!
As soon as Lin Fan's words rang out, the crowd in the trading hall instinctively backed away, leaving the remaining members of the Sacred Light Empire completely exposed.
"N-No… this has nothing to do with us!"
One disciple trembled like a leaf, his voice hoarse with fear.
"You made the wrong choice in who to follow," Lin Fan said coldly, his tone devoid of emotion.
The moment his voice fell, Lin Fan activated his Yuan Power, casually forming a massive Yuan Power hand that swept toward the remaining Sacred Light members—without even using a martial art.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
In the blink of an eye, the last of the Sacred Light Empire's forces were all crushed to pieces.
Hiss—
The entire trading plaza sucked in a collective breath of cold air.
While they were awed by Lin Fan's strength, they were also terrified by his ruthlessness.
With a casual wave, Lin Fan collected their spatial pouches and spirit treasures.
His gaze swept across the hall, finally landing on two half-step Nirvana Stage experts seated at the center.
As Lin Fan's eyes met theirs, both men visibly flinched, tension rising in their hearts.
"May I ask your names?" Lin Fan's voice rang out again—calm and casual.
Originally, he had planned for Mo Ling's group to slowly gather intel.
But now that he'd shown his strength, he might as well ask directly.
"No need to be secretive anymore."
"I am Mo Tie from the Iron Kingdom," said the first, a burly, dark-skinned man.
"I am Hai Sha of the Sea Scaled Dynasty," said the other, trying to remain composed.
Lin Fan nodded, then looked to Mo Tie. "Brother Mo Tie, shall we speak elsewhere?"
"It would be my honor," Mo Tie said quickly.
"Let's go," Lin Fan said to Mo Ling and the others before walking out of the trading hall.
Mo Tie followed eagerly behind.
Hai Sha watched Lin Fan leave, eyes flickering with unease and frustration—but he dared not act.
"Damn it…" he muttered under his breath before also leaving the hall.
As soon as they left, the crowd erupted in excited whispers.
Who was this Lin Fan?
A single finger to crush a half-step Nirvana?
They'd never seen such terrifying strength before.
Of course, Lin Fan paid none of this any mind—even if he knew, he wouldn't have cared.
…
Mo Tie led the group to a tall tower within Sun City.
After everyone was seated, Lin Fan got straight to the point.
"Brother Mo Tie, you've been in Sun City for a while. Can you tell us about the power dynamics here?"
"Of course," Mo Tie nodded. "There are plenty of elites here from middle-tier empires and hundreds of low-tier ones. The strongest factions are…"
He gave a detailed overview of Sun City's factions and power structure.
Lin Fan asked next,
"Do you know where the Ancient Key is rumored to appear?"
"That's no secret anymore," Mo Tie nodded again. "It's said to be located in the Thunder Rock Mountain Range, not far from Sun City."
"But that place is swarming with beasts. Some are strong enough to rival half-step Nirvana experts… and perhaps even Nirvana Stage beasts."
Everyone grew more serious as they listened.
Lin Fan silently compared this with what he remembered—it matched.
"Even with so many experts here, those beasts shouldn't be a problem, right?" Mo Ling asked with a hopeful smile.
"Dealing with beasts might not be the hard part," Mo Tie chuckled darkly. "Greedy humans are far more dangerous."
Everyone silently agreed.
After a bit more conversation, Lin Fan rose to leave.
"By the way, Brother Lin Fan," Mo Tie added before they left.
"Everyone in Sun City plans to head for Thunder Rock Mountain in seven days. May our Iron Kingdom team join yours?"
Lin Fan smiled. "Sure—just don't become my enemy when it's time to fight over the Ancient Key."
With that parting shot, he turned and left with his group.
Mo Tie watched them go, thoughts swirling behind his eyes.
…
Back at their lodging, Lin Fan's group entered a period of closed cultivation.
They had all the info they needed—now it was time to prepare.
In the next seven days, Lin Dong upgraded his Blood Spirit Puppet to Nirvana Stage-level and broke through to half-step Nirvana himself.
Mo Ling, Man Shan, and Du Yun made some progress too, but lacking Nirvana Pills, they remained at the peak of Manifestation Stage.
Lin Fan, meanwhile, brought his spiritual power to the peak of One-Seal Symbol Master, and his Yuan Power to the peak of Third Nirvana Stage.
He was only one tribulation away from a dual breakthrough.
…
"Let's go. It's time."
Lin Fan could sense that the major factions in Sun City were already moving.
Everyone agreed without hesitation—they had all learned about Thunder Rock Mountain by now.
The group set out immediately.
…
"Brother Lin Fan, there you are!"
As they stepped outside the city, a booming voice greeted them.
Mo Tie arrived with nearly a hundred warriors, including three half-step Nirvana Stage experts.
"Are you the Lin Fan who destroyed the entire Sacred Light Empire faction?"
A sharp-eyed man asked politely.
"I'm Liu Xuan from the Dark Cloud Empire."
"I'm Tang Xuan from the Great Tang Empire," said a red-robed woman beside him.
Mo Tie introduced them. "Both are half-step Nirvana cultivators. We thought it best to move together. Hope you don't mind."
Lin Fan smiled. "Not at all."
They could handle the weaker beasts on the road—he'd save his strength for the real enemies.
Around them, many others watched Lin Fan's group carefully.
After all, word had already spread—Lin Fan crushed Jin Mu and wiped out the Sacred Light Empire.
"Let's move," Lin Fan said.
With that, he took the lead, flying toward the towering mountain range in the distance.
The rest followed close behind.
