Chapter 241: A Single Slap Sends Him Flying!
As Huo Zhen's ferocious attack approached, Lin Fan remained calm. With a subtle shift of his hands, he formed a strange hand seal.
"Stasis."
His lips parted slightly, and a faint voice seemed to echo from within.
In that instant, Huo Zhen's raging punch froze midair.
Even the Yuan Power surging around him abruptly stalled.
It was as if Huo Zhen had been trapped between time and space—completely motionless.
This strange phenomenon lasted only a breath, but it was more than enough.
Lin Fan had secretly activated a trace of the Stasis Divine Talisman's power.
He had only used a sliver—just for an instant. Even experts like Chen Zhen would have a hard time noticing.
"PAH!"
A crisp slap echoed across the arena.
"THUMP!"
Huo Zhen's body flew backward like a broken kite, crashing hard into the ranks of Hongya Cave's disciples.
BOOM!
Only then did the terrifying shockwave from his punch erupt, catching his allies in the blast.
A bright red palm print still burned across his cheek.
"Been a while since I've slapped someone like that. I'm almost out of practice," Lin Fan murmured softly, as if a bit dissatisfied with his own form.
"Whoaaa!"
The crowd erupted in an uproar.
"Senior Brother Lin Fan is incredible!"
"One slap sent Huo Zhen flying! That was so satisfying!"
"Looks like he's even stronger than before!"
"Hah! That Hongya Cave guy was acting so arrogant earlier. How's that working out now?"
…
"Nice one!" Ying Huanhuan clapped with joy from the sidelines.
She had no fondness for Huo Zhen, and seeing him get slapped silly by Lin Fan was cathartic.
While Dao Sect disciples were elated, Hongya Cave's side looked grim.
Huo Zhen was their number one among the younger generation. Everyone had believed in him. But now?
He couldn't even last a single round.
Some Hongya Cave disciples were already starting to doubt.
Huo Zhen's own face was pale with rage. As the sect's strongest young talent, he had never been so humiliated.
In truth, Lin Fan had held back. This was just a spar, not a life-or-death battle.
If he'd gone all out, that slap could've turned Huo Zhen's skull into mush.
"You'll die for that!"
Oblivious, Huo Zhen surged to his feet, eyes full of hate.
BOOM!
He unleashed his full power—peak Eighth Nirvana Stage—his Yuan Power bursting out like crashing waves.
He formed a complex hand seal, and dazzling light erupted from his body, coalescing into a mountain nearly a hundred meters tall.
The mountain had strange cave formations that formed a mystical array. The ambient Yuan energy in the area stirred violently.
Hongya Cave disciples were visibly excited.
In contrast, Dao Sect disciples grew tense.
"Be careful, Lin Fan! That's Hongya Cave Scripture, their strongest technique!" Ying Huanhuan warned.
"Too late!"
Huo Zhen grinned viciously and flipped his palm.
The massive cave mountain descended with terrifying force, casting a vast shadow over Lin Fan.
"I guess I went too easy on you," Lin Fan muttered, shaking his head as he formed another strange seal.
In the blink of an eye, he reappeared beside Huo Zhen—slapping the opposite cheek this time.
Once again, Huo Zhen froze mid-motion.
"PAH!"
The sound rang out again.
Huo Zhen flew even further this time, crashing to the ground—completely unconscious.
Simultaneously, Lin Fan extended his left hand.
A monstrous burst of Yuan Power erupted, forming a giant hand hundreds of meters across.
He grabbed the mountain.
"Explode."
With a single word, Lin Fan clenched his fist.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
The cave mountain shattered with thunderous explosions that bent space itself.
PUFF!
The shockwave struck Huo Zhen's unconscious body, forcing a mouthful of blood from his lips.
The pain jolted him awake—only for him to look at Lin Fan with both hatred and… fear.
"Now that's better—symmetry on both cheeks." Lin Fan grinned down at him.
Pfft!
Ying Huanhuan couldn't help but laugh aloud, looking at the twin red marks on Huo Zhen's face.
Mo Ling and the other Dao Sect disciples also had odd looks on their faces.
PUFF!
Huo Zhen spat another mouthful of blood—this time from pure rage.
"Want to keep going?" Lin Fan asked from above, voice calm and commanding.
"I…" Huo Zhen tried to rise, unwilling, but—
"Enough. You're not his match," a gray-robed elder from Hongya Cave finally stepped in.
Huo Zhen clenched his fists but backed down.
"The Dao Sect is indeed one of the Eight Super Sects. We concede defeat in today's exchange. But next year—we'll return."
The elder's voice was sour as he offered a token farewell to Chen Zhen—then led his people away, tails tucked firmly between their legs.
So different from the arrogance they had shown when they first arrived.
Lin Fan watched them go, unbothered.
With his current power and trump cards, even Wudao was no match for him. Against Chen Zhen, the result might be uncertain—but not by much.
Defeating an Eighth Nirvana cultivator? That was nothing.
Unlike Lin Fan's serenity, the Dao Sect disciples erupted with thunderous cheers.
"Well done. Those Hongya Cave bastards always try to pick fights and sneak advantages. Glad someone finally taught them a lesson."
Chen Zhen came over and patted Lin Fan on the shoulder.
"Tricks never last," Lin Fan replied casually.
"True, but still… a defeat would've hurt our name," Chen Zhen nodded. Then he grinned,
"Soon it'll be the Grand Hall Trials. We're counting on you to carry Desolate Hall."
"Relax. First place is already mine," Lin Fan said with a calm, confident smile.
"Haha, you brat!" Chen Zhen laughed loudly. After a few more words, he and Wudao turned and left.
"Hey—thanks!"
As they departed, a soft hand landed on Lin Fan's shoulder.
