She fell straight to the floor before I was able to catch her.
I moved with too much force. She was just here like howw??
"Shit," I said, diving forward.
Her name got stuck in my mouth, Hazel.
She was out cold. No movement. Her lips were too pale, her breath barely there. I pressed my fingers to her neck. Pulse—barely. Still, it was there
"Someone get the nurse!" I snapped, voice sharp enough to slice through the silence.
I stayed there, on the floor, one hand under her head, the other gripping her wrist like if I let go, she'd disappear completely.
The nurse came in fast. Gloves on before she even got to us.
"What happened?" she asked, dropping to her knees beside me.
"She fainted. I don't know—I stopped her from opening a door. She fell, my force must have pushed her."
"Did she hit anything?"
"I—maybe. The floor."
She said nothing. Just checked her vitals, clipped something to her finger, and took her blood pressure.
